Lovely hotel, excellent room with a nice view, breakfast was delicious with a good choice and the lady who showed us to our table was very pleasant.

I stayed four nights 30 December to 3 January 2020 and it was brilliant. All staff were kind to me which I truly appreciate. Nothing was a problem. Helpful with how too work the zones out for the Trams. Definetely would stat their again.

Lovely walks in the area, close to The Lowry. Plenty of shops and eateries within walking distance.
12 o clock checkout too! No being 'rushed' out the door, you actually have time to get yourself together!
At breakfast, I have Coeliac Disease, I notified staff on arrival and ALL of my food was prepared separately. Staff have a very good knowledge of dietary requirements, went above and beyond to make sure our experience was good!
Would highly recommend staying here, and would give 10 stars if allowed.

Stayed for an evening while visiting the theatre, some parts are a bit dated but clean, staff friendly, food lovely and room service great I didn’t pay through the nose and in my view perfect value for money, lovely hotel.

Expected more from a four star hotel… more two star! Breakfast was disorganised and parts of hotel looked shabby… not worth spending £140 a night!

Very tired and dated. Tried to get coffee in the bar, would only serve guests, we were, we gave all our details, then we were told no coffee, a waste of time. Poorly stocked bar, attended a function, no whisky, no cider, no lager, took over 25 minutes to get served, that was with only 2 waiting in front of us!
No lighting in rooms, only a small table lamp, and a light by the bathroom. Can’t see to get ready.

The hotel took advantage of the fact that 2 18 year olds had lost their hotel room due to the bankruptcy of Tkomss Cook and had nowhere to stay. They demanded double the price. The rooms were miserable. In the shower, they didn't get turned off by the water, so they had to wait for a plumber. This is not a 4 star hotel.

Staff are very friendly but the hotel lacks something!
… if the hotel had a refurb it would be very nice as it has the potential to be amazing.

I regularly stay here when in Manchester for work. It is advertised as 4 syar bu think it is more 3 to be honest That said though, it is spotlessly clean, the staff are really friendly, the breakfast is always pretty good and the water pressure in the shower is amazing. Also many of the rooms overlook a lovely quiet quay. Would recommend for work or an overnight stay.

Super staff! Attended a wedding last Saturday as Toastmaster, Master of Ceremonies. From walking into the venue until leaving at 11pm, I received such wonderful, attentive, friendly service from the managers and staff. Special thanks to Olivia, wedding coordinator for her continued support during the planning process and to Ryan. Sinead and Peter for their hard work and efforts in delivering a perfect day for our guests. Looking forward to working with this amazing team in the future. Well done! Elissa. X❤️

Lovely area, beautiful views and friendly staff made it a very enjoyable experience.

Staff very friendly but hotel in desperate need of a redec. Looks very tatty and tired in all areas, not nice when you check in and go up to room and en route have to walk past bin bags full of rubbish and piles of dirty laundry. Very unprofessional, why are maid trolleys not being used? dirty cups in bedroom, and furniture tired. Good sized rooms and bathrooms, but as I say hotel needs a good clean and tidy, even the signage outside the hotel was filthy, not a good first impression as you arrive. Bed was like sleeping on a concrete block! as said tho I cannot fault the friendly staff.

Stayed here at the weekend with skelton travel tour beautiful hotel first class highly recommended staff food and room were top class.

A pretty average hotel nothing really outstanding about it the decor is dated and having stayed here three times there's a lot of traffic noise from the road as it's right as it is nearby set of traffic lights there is only one entrance it seems which is a bit inconvenient if you're on foot as you have to walk all the way around the hotel but the hotel is well located if you're working in The Quays. The hotel definitely needs to clean up its standards around the food areas as whenever I've been here plates have been found to be dirty.

Most hotels have a standard layout so to make the stay special you'll be looking for some extra touches. First lapse was over the booking which included breakfast but wasn't recorded on the system. The receptionist was able to resolve quickly but this seems like a mistake that could be avoided — I had a confirmation email with all the right details. On both days we went for breakfast at 8:30 and buffet was under provisioned and I also found a long black hair in the hash browns. Location wise the hotel is near a tram stop with easy access to the city centre and media city and has free parking.

Reasonable but not great. Admittedly it was the summer of 2018 when it was very hot, but the room temperature was unbearable as there is no air conditioning. Dinner over two nights I stayed was quite nice but there is hardly any choice on the menu. Breakfast has a large choice but the cooked items were cold, not helped by the freezing cold plates. Will stay elsewhere next time I'm in the area.

Generally good value. Some rooms better than others, some really could do with some refurbishment. Staff helpful and friendly. Only real complaint is that the bar prices would better at home in central London. I suggest walking a minute from back of hotel to the matchstick man pub, where your drinks will literally be half the price. Yes half.

Stayed at the Copthorne hotel on a work trip and is a lovely hotel. My only complaint was the rooms were hot and there was no air conditioning but too be honest it’s not hot normally in Manchester! The staff were excellent and I met up with some friends from Manchester and we had dinner and the manager was very accommodating to my friends with their dietary requirements and Lucas was amazing! The food was really good and it was lovely to sit overlooking the quay! A very nice hotel thank you.

Nothing negative to say about the staff who were friendly and efficient. The hotel is rated as 4 star but in reality is lower than that. As other people have commented on the rooms need attention. There was only a portable air con unit in our room which was noisy when turned on so you have the choice of stifling hot or not sleeping. As we were attending a concert at nearby Old Trafford the hotel was full and charged top rates (£180) for the one night. If coming again I would look to book somewhere better. To be honest you expect more of a Copthorne. I would Tate this hotel below some of the Premier Inn’s I have stayed in.

Goodnight sleep but not same style and facilities as AC Mariot next door and comparable pricing. View out of windows was amazing and staff super helpful.

Went for afternoon tea yesterday, (living social deal). On arrival staff at reception very friendly, shown to a table overlooking the quays, the waitress looked after us, asking whether we wanted tea/ coffee or prosecco first, then a short while later she brought out a wonderful array of finger sandwiches, macaroons, brownies, tarts and scones. It was all delicious and I highly recommend it.

Would stay here again. Its very handy if going to Old Trafford as its only a 10-15 min walk. Rooms are very comfortable & the staff are helpful & pleasant.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Ideal for a short break or sightseeing in Manchester. The hotel is directly opposite Exchange Quay tram stop, making the city centre and airport easily accessible.

My review is regarding the restaurant. I have been twice recently. First for an afternoon tea with mum in law to be. Secondly with my partner for an evening meal. On both accounts I would like to praise the staff for the attentiveness they showed making us feel very special. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was plentiful too. Presented lovely and very tasty. We would like to especially thank Adam who made sure we were happy on all accounts.

Good food. Good service. Not very cozy bar. My room was old and worn. Tap could not mix hot/warm water.

Shower didn’t work. Cold tap on bath dribbled out, so I had to wait ages to run a bath that wasn’t scalding hot. Staff came to my room long before check out time, and seemed rather disgruntled when they discovered I was still there (I heard some ‘colourful’ language as they walked off down the corridor, let’s just say) Expensive bar — over £5 for a pint of Moretti Breakfast was ok at least. Not great on the whole…!

The room might have been 4 star in 1991. The rooms look very tired. No aircon doesn't help either. Clean and tidy, and the staff are all polite and helpful.

I stayed for 1 night and honestly couldn’t fault it. At check in the guy was very friendly and efficient it literally took just a couple of minutes, my room was great very clean with a well stocked mini bar the bed was very comfortable (double) I arrived late evening and had steak for tea which was cooked just as I asked, the waitress was very warm and friendly. For breakfast I had bacon with scrambled eggs with a pot of tea. Check out was very quick — I would recommend this hotel for me it ticked all the boxes.

I have changed my previous bad review from this Hotel. I could not get down to Manchester last weekend because of the extreme weather conditions in Scotland, there were no trains at all and I am not driving. So it seems that they are flexible enough to change a non-refundable booking for me to another date. That is what I call as a customer service.

Only stay here as it convenient for work…otherwise it would get two stars. Rooms are dated, lighting in poor, who has separate water taps these days and esp. As the water is hot enough to make tea. Breakfast is just about ok. Pre — Made Porridge? which is watery. Dinner was poor had to send it back everything was overcooked. Staff are good. If you staying here for more then overnight I would not recommend it at all.

Sadly not 4* as they advertise although I was told management will be spending some money in the future. 3* would give a better idea of what customers can expect. The website pictures of rooms are deceiving — in photos you see cushions & other soft furnishings but in reality there were none to be seen. There is a stand for newspapers and yet when you ask, they no longer offer papers and suggest you try the garage down the road. Tired and dated bathrooms with broken tiles. However, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was enjoyable.

Location is a little out of town, not really walking distance (definitely not at night), rooms are basic, not well lit, comes with a minibar fridge and TV, not many plug sockets (just two, actually, one by TV, on by desk). The general vibe is similar to a premier inn. The view over the canal is nice though.

I travelled to the Copthorne Hotel to attend a business conference. The hotel was easy to find, on a main road, with good road access. As I was only there to attend a conference I did not stay overnight or use the food facilities. The conference room we were in was very large and looked extravagant. It had toilet facilities located nearby and did not disturb the rest of the hotel. Very happy with the hotel and will visit again.

Stayed on 5-1-18 very poor service during breakfast. Absolutely appalling. Waited 10minutes for tea and coffee. Only served when I asked for hot drink. Surly waitress should ask you as you arrive for breakfast. Waited another 8minutes for tea/coffee to arrive. No apologie. Myself and husband when to have buffet breakfast. What a shocker! No bacon, no eggs, no red sauce, no brown sauce, no bread for toast, no orange juice. All had run out and no one was there to replenish the food. 5 members of the public were all waiting around the buffet to have breakfast. I had to walk around the room to find a waitress and asked for all of the food to be replenish. Another 10minutes went by. My husband had his food whilst I went to make toast! Bread was frozen solid. Disgusting.
When I went up for the buffet yet again no eggs and no plates. This was so disappointed, absolutely horrendous service. Had to ask waitress for fried egg again which took ages to cook. Another waitress brought plates. They were cold, placed in a headed holder but plate were cold. Waitress then placed friend egg on my plate. Went to sit down and eat breakfast, egg wasn’t cooked — very slimy. Question is, did that waitress have food cooking certificate? Bacon was like rubber. Absolutely disgusting service and breakfast. When sat down there were 6 tables around us that hadn’t been cleaned for the whole time we were there for breakfast. Shocking.

I can only describe the interior of the hotel as run-down. The place is in desperate need of a renovation. The room I was in had the oldest looking bathroom I've seen in a long time, there was only 1 socket under the desk which was no good if you wanted to plug the fan in (yes there's no aircon) as it was in totally the wrong place and the pain was flaking off in some areas. That said, the room was very clean, the food was nice and the staff very friendly its just hard to ignore how 'aged' the place looks.

I really liked being by the quayside. Good hotel with a good bar menu. Central location too. Ideal for anyone needing to be in city centre or media city. Reasonable price too. Usually around the town mark.

Had lunch at the restaurant. The portions are generous and pretty. My only issue is, the taste. I had the slow cooked pork, which tasted average.

Reception and arrivals good my room a bit back to the future retro 80's style room. Also not allot of power sockets and no USB charging. It was clean and tidy.

Horrible. Filthy. Avoid. Whether it's the stained carpet, the burns on the carpet, the whole knocked in the wall, the shower hanging off the wall, the scratches on the back of the bathroom door where the last guest must have tried to escape. I dont know where you start. Oh yes I do. With the massive long black hair left on the toilet roll. Not mine. My head is shaved. this booking was made through work. If I'd booked this myself I would have cried and walked out. If you get room 219 you have my deepest sympathy.

Great friendly staff that were happy help with any kind of enquiry (thanks to Alex on front desk) Nice views across water. Convenient parking but also very accessible to the city via the tram. Comfy bed.

The hotel it's self is maybe a little dated. But the staff are friendly and very efficient. The food at the bar was very good. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.

It's been said by others… Very very tired rooms! If you like a very soft bed you'll like this, I didn't but that's just me. Clean enough though. Made up for by very friendly and professional staff both at check in and at breakfast, which wasn't bad.

Stayed for one night attending a wedding close by. The hotel is clean and very well furnished. Our room overlooked the car park though with the windows shut you couldn't hear any noise. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Buffet style and a great choice. Well worth paying for. Only a couple of things stop this being 5 stars and that's the bed wasn't great. It wasn't bad but it seemed to dip in the middle. Secondly there were only two plugs in the room and neither were by the bed. Just a small issue but stopped both my wife and I having our phones on charge. Would have no problem staying again.

Absolutely disgusting! On arrival we were asked to wait for our room. So we decided to have our breakfast. (Which all 4 of us ended up having nasty visits to the toilet). After breakfast we sat at the bar whilst waiting for our room, which was infested with fruit flies. Which were moulded onto the ceiling! When we got to our rooms, they were dusty, unhoovered and smelt awful (just not fresh as what it should be). The furniture is dated. Both our room and friends room only had 1 towel each. After showering the towel I used gave me a rash. Later on in the evening I complained to the reception as I was taking a reaction to something, we got moved to a new room. Which, to my surprise was just as bad as the 1st. You expect to enter your room to a nice scent, and cleanliness. We were actually scared to go to sleep incase the bed was crawling, as the hotel certainly is crawling. Would not recommend. A formal complaint will be getting made.

Pros: location, car parking and price Cons: poor shower, very basic room Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Overall it was fine and I would have no issue with staying there again. But I would probably try to see what else I could get for my money instead.

Really well situated for the Salford and Exchange Quays if, like me, you have business in that area and can be easily accessed via the Piccadilly-Eccles Metrolink. Has a very warm welcome from the staff member behind the desk on arrival and, as there was only 1 other guest checking in at that time, I didn't have too long to wait. The room was clean and decorated to a decent standard. There were tea and coffee making facilities and I know a colleague was pleased about the Douw Egberts coffee on offer. Whilst the bed was comfortable, the insulation between rooms wasn't great and I could hear another guest's snoring at certain points in the night. The room came equipped with an iron but this was of dubious quality with it being impossible to tell the temperature it was set to by looking at the dial. Bathroom facilities were OK: shower over bath set up, soap and gel provided, hot water dispensed at what seemed like boiling point and sink taps the wrong way round (cold tap dispensed hot). On the first night of our stay we ate in the hotel restaurant and the service was as slow as I've now come to expect with the Copthorne. I don't know whether they're understaffed there but it wasn't busy at all and there was still significant waits to have someone take our order, bring food over and we ended up leaving without receiving the bill as nobody came over to us after we'd finished to either offer us the bill or any desserts etc.

Checked in to a room overlooking the car park on the ground floor. Nice gentleman on Reception moved me after I asked a I'm a light sleeper. Replacement room overlooking the river was much better. One of the lamps didn't work and there's a lack of plug sockets. Overall the hotel is tired and in need of a few fixes. Room service was going to take 50 minutes so I went down to the restaurant. Was advised a 40 minute wait for food. There was at most 10 people sitting in the restaurant. The front of house staff were terrible. Left a phone ringing constantly. We're disorganised. Had loud disagreements with each other about orders. Seemed like there was no management in charge, or if there was they weren't able to run the restaurant. Food was pretty bad. Even the apple juice tasted like cordial. Won't be back unless absolutely everywhere else is booked up.

Professional and friendly staff. Rooms are clean but dated. We were on the second floor and what spoiled are stay was the noise early in the morning. Sounded like staff cleaning up the functions rooms from the night before.

The hotel is good, nice view, friendly personnel and good restaurant, but Wi-Fi connection is just terrible. I think it's a big flaw in 21st century for every hotel.

OK the decore is not perfect, but a great place to stay with good customer service and food. There was an mix up with the room (not caused by the hotel) that was quickly sorted and free drinks was provided why we waited.
