Fantastic experience. We stayed for only for one night and had dinner and breakfast. The staff at the hotel were attentive, friendly and very professional. I wish we could have stayed longer :)

This was one off my amazing moments staying in part off my family’s history. I loved every minute of it The museum had a lot of historical things and information.

Super nice Hotel with a nice ambience.

We have on 7. June married there and it was around just great. The room class, the Service and all other staff were very committed to us and incredibly accommodating. It was our absolute dream wedding and I would to anyone who is considering to get married there, absolutely recommend to do this. A better way :)
We would like to thank the whole Team for our perfect day and are looking forward to our first wedding anniversary, we will again spend in the castle.

Great castle with great views of the Edersee and the dam. The exhibition or the museum is also recommended; even with young children. My big (7), liked it very much and she listened enthusiastically to the information from the audio guide. Really recommended, if the weather doesn't play along like that. We are with the mountain railway to the mountain, which was also a small highlight.

A great place to walk. Scenic view from the observation deck in the castle, walking paths for a walk, the opportunity to ride a yacht or boat, plus on the lake cruise steamers. The opportunity to park, a lot of eateries, in general an ideal place to stay.

Parking is sufficient. The parking ticket from the Edersee is also valid at Waldeck Castle. If you want, you can take a tour of the castle, but you can pay money. Otherwise, the superficial visit, i. E. Schlosshof, is free of charge. The view from up there is fantastic. In the lower courtyard there is Bratwurst Currywurst for 3.50 and 3.90€ respectively. The way up to the castle is worthwhile.

From the lake Edersee the castle Waldeck looks great. That is why we had decided to visit it. To go to the top of the mountain you need to use the cable car "bergbahn". It is a bit old but for our little son it was an interesting experience. It doesn't take too much time to go from the cable car to the castle. To our great disappointment there was nearly nothing to see and to do inside the castle. The biggest part of it is a hotel. And only a small part of it is left for the tourists. But there is a great view for the lake from the yard of the castle and from the restaurant.

The management is not good. Because we want to take a room the day after our arrival and want to have dinner. Because we did take the room the same day they refused Is to have dinner in the restaurant, but they say the restaurant is open. They just refuse Us and they don't have sufficient workers and it was fake.

The scenery speaks for itself. The view of the Eder Dam and the surrounding natural beauty is something you have to see for your own eyes to behold. The cafe is smart and of good quality. Can only imagine staying here would be the ultimate treat, but a visit alone is worth the time. A magical place.

Interesting historical castle. In addition to a hotel with meeting rooms, the café and restaurant "Altane" there is also the restaurant "Turmuhr, " a dream room.
In addition to the museum, the castle fountain with its history is also interesting. The other rooms of the castle can be visited as part of a guided tour.

The castle is beautiful, just like region, views, museum and landscape. The rooms are very nice and modern. A star deduction for the not really clean shower and lack of air conditioning and one for the completely overpriced restaurant. A soup for €15 may be delicious, but it's still a soup. Starters range from €15 to €20. A steak around €40s'. That in itself is fine and the quality of the ingredients is right, but the preparation is not. Otherwise, the hotel itself is fully recommended.

Great castle with unique views. Friendly and helpful staff. Small but informative museum in the castle. There is a great and upscale restaurant in the castle. This offers a small menu for the upscale purse. Quality and taste are unique there! Very very tasty!

Very nice… excellent location and view. Our room was cozy, the bathroom extremely small, the shower cubicle tiny.
Clean yes, but the slate tiles and grouts very unsightly. The breakfast was all we wanted. This breakfast area with the large windows is also in the evening restaurant, which has seemingly very arbitrary opening hours…
The spa area is nice, but for the number of guests clearly too small. We did not experience the bar and the fireplace room, which were refurbished while we were there.
The value for money for a ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Hotel does not vote for us unfortunately.

Surrounded by fantastic woods. Recommended.

The view is simply madness. You can park with a parking ticket for a small fee and walk a few meters. A souvenir shop is available and guided tours can be made. When the weather is nice, the place is an absolute must. We are very satisfied. Toilets are public and clean.

Great place to visit and to spend time with friends.

Small, but fine. The museum is not very large, but interestingly designed. The trip was worth it.

We spent a great weekend there. Premium room with fantastic view over the lake.
The food was good, the portions rather frugal. Drinks prices were in themselves. A glass of wine 0.2l for 11 euros upwards is already borderline.
The breakfast service was very attentive, thank you very much.
Only downside, therefore only 4 stars: no W-lan in the premium room available. I don't think that's timely.

Very very nice hotel. Unfortunately I was not a hotel guest, but the reception and the surrounding rooms were already very impressive.
The restaurant/cafe has very high prices, but for the view you can take the prices once in purchase. Simply wonderful to look at a coffee on the Edersee.

Difficult this one; quite unique, fabulous place and location, stylish room, brilliant breakfast … but the restaurant whilst undeniably very good is so eye-wateringly expensive it takes the shine off somewhat … it's not worth the money on an international scale.

We had a really nice weekend there. The service was great and uncomplicated, the room was great, the view is priceless. We liked the view from the breakfast room, at the top of the castle you have a great view over the lake and the nature park. The breakfast was very extensive and varied. Only the spa area is a little small, a small steam sauna and a small Finnish sauna, with only 7 beds in the rest area are somewhat puny for a hotel of this size. Still, we would go there again. Especially the special offer we used was a real bargain.

All great and beautiful except the shower head holder. That's why the star pull. The keeper was so worn out that none held any more and fell on the big toe for me when showering. Thank God only with a blue toe of it came from without bone fracture.
The craftsman was there, but brought nothing in the house, in Four Stars House there was no replacement. Sad truth.
Commendable: Compensation for the incident does not require much effort. The Four Star Dinner and Wellness. The view is awesome.

Beautifully restored castle with great views over Lake Edersee. Great reception in the big vault, nice, big, clean room. In the evening we ate well in the restaurant. Caution: Here you can get done really because of the many different levels;-)

Very nice hotel with a great ambience. However, some rooms are not suitable for very large people, as the ceiling height is not particularly high, which was even more extreme in the shower. But the real problem was more the staff. At breakfast it was partly not even possible to find someone and when present they appeared to me unmotivated. Clearing dishes probably didn't think they were necessary. Breakfast choices were also rather low and the quality acceptable at best. Overall, much more would have been possible with these great premises.

Very nice, well maintained castle. Although it is relatively small, it offers a beautiful and wide view of the Edertal and the National Park Keller Forest from the terrace.
The castle was most beautiful renovated and is quite modern. For lovers of old, fallen castles, I think the Schloss Waldeck is not recommended.

Lovely setting, great views, nice Spa, Wi-Fi a bit wobbly, but overall a great experience.

The only tourist spot on the street of fairy tales.

Great csstlee for a short visit. Tour is expensive, can be dine in 30 minutes. Not very interestung. Great view over the lake and the dam.

My husband gave Wochenendübernachtung. We are to the rest come and very relaxed. Just liked everything. Super stay.

Today on 05.11.2015 a wonderful day. There were lunch today, only with us a couple from Holland there.

Good Day, I would like for the beautiful days (extra night booked) thank you. I have made me very, very felt at ease. The Service, the care, the *Wünscheerfüllung* were spilling out. The food in the old tower is Terrific. For the next year has that short a fixed place. Thanks to the very nice and flexible to Mr. Todt! Cordial Greetings Simone Weinhold.

Were in the Cafe, prices are high. Service is friendly, but forgetful. Customer orientation is probably a foreign word there.

Were delighted in the courtyard a subject area and Benches to see. Alone it is no use if neither is there, nor any where it is written where a Service force to get. In the season of June seems to be the mark. Unfortunately, I could not write this without having the quality to evaluate. Unfortunately, this behavior is in waldek not an isolated case.
