Great clean rooms. Location close to the city. Basically good breakfast.

We were lucky enough to spend the last 24 hours in the water tower of my skallegin Annette Bätjer. Thanks to the beautiful upgrade to the 14th floor, we were able to enjoy a fantastic view over Hamburg. The food and the service were top and this morning we were even allowed to enjoy two sauna sessions before breakfast. Despite storm Nadja and very strong gusts of wind, we felt absolutely safe and very secure at a height of 54 meters. Many thanks to Annette and her team. We like to come back.

Currently over 30 degrees in the rooms — no climate level — extremely warm even in the masonry in the basement. We are now on the waiting list for a fan. Absolutely unacceptable for a 4-star hotel!
Sleeping with open windows not possible due to central location.
Staff very friendly. Rooms clean — but uninhabitable in summer.
No water in rooms. Large bottle of water over 4€ per water — absolutely annoying and unacceptable. Should be provided or is basic equipment at 4 stars but not at Mövenpick.
Showers only with lukewarm water. Not even cold water from the pipes of the shower.

Very accommodating staff in a pleasant atmosphere, delicious breakfast for our wedding day holiday, thank you.

An excellent well situated hotel built within an old water tower. 16 floors, large comfortable rooms, helpful friendly staff. What’s not to like.

Unique building, contemporary interior design, very interesting entrance, stunning city views, a short walk to the Messe and some good restaurants within easy reach too. Very friendly and helpful staff on arrival and departure. A complimentary upgrade was also a very welcome gesture after a long hard day's work :-)

Hey, really enjoyed the stay at the hotel. From check-in to check-out. Really like the concept. Next time I am in Hamburg I will stay again.

I find the hotel looks very exciting and is located near the subway and S-Bahn stop. Our room on the 4th floor was rather small but nice and clean. The air conditioning worked quite well. The area around the hotel is quite lively, so it is quite noisy with the window open. The breakfast tasted very good to me. Unfortunately, you also have to book in the restaurant as a hotel guest if you want to eat there in the evening, unfortunately nobody told us this when checking in, so we were never eating in the hotel. Once we were in the bar, basically the waiters there were very nice but unfortunately not very attentive, with empty plates/glasses there was not asked if you wanted anything else.

Modern hotel in a unique environment. Large and well equiped rooms. The 'Cave Bar' is beautifully integrated and offers a wide range of top drinks. Great breakfast and polite staff.

The AC didn't work. We spoke with the front desk 2 times about this issue and we were told that the AC didn't function like traditional AC units. OK, we understood that, but the fact of the matter is when we did everything the front desk told us to do, it still didn't function. We were then told that nothing could be done to fix the AC, as there were no technicians on-site during the weekend to fix the problem. The floor heat in the bathroom was also on and we had to ask twice to have this turned off. It was the bellhop who took the couple of minutes to fix our problem when the front desk staff didn’t seem to care. The breakfast buffet is very good, although the price of 25 Euro is extremely high, if we wouldn’t of had a package deal through Secret Escapes, we would of never paid this crazy high price. The hotel is beautiful and in a very good location.

The building and the entrance are very impressive. The location is very central and many public transport maximum 5 minutes walk away. The staff at both the reception and the breakfast was very nice and helpful. The rooms were not very large, but very clean. Almost everything you need was there. Unfortunately, we lacked a kettle, so we could only prepare the bottle for the baby at the restaurant at breakfast. The carpet in the room is not so allergy friendly. Overall, I can definitely recommend the hotel.

We had a bad experience with the Mövenpick Hotel since the Service was really unfriendly and arrogant. We paid more than 550 EUR for 4 nights, staying in a Room with two Beds instead of one, and since my partner is dark-skinned, we felt we were being treated very disadvantaged. None of our concerns have been taken seriously and satisfied. I would not recommend to spend this amounts for a Hotel with such bad Service, the friendliness is very superficial and inappropriate. To the hotel itself: The location was basically good, the rooms are fine as well. We did not ate there since the prices are also too high compared to the hotels/restaurants around.

It's a lovely hotel, close to the airport etc. The only things I don't like is that it was so hot and the air-conditioning works only on heat and there is no air circulation as the windows don't open. I really could not sleep last night and I have 5 more to go. I would also change the bath to a walk in shower. You use more water the way it is now.

Nice hotel with great friendly staff. Original entrance with Travolatorom. Loved the interior on the ground floor-high brick vaults (from the words of the staff, very old). The room is spacious and comfortable with an original bathroom (bathroom window with blinds right above the bed:) ) The hotel itself is located in the tower, near a great park with lawn, benches and playgrounds. Nearby there are cafes and restaurants.

Rooms just above the train, sleep was hard to think of. The rooms were far too warm and the air conditioning was faulty, windows were not open because of the train. The mattresses were well located. On weekends, hotel guests have to book tables for breakfast because many breakfast guests come from outside. Breakfast is offered until 14:00, many things are no longer available from 11am. Only the staff were very accommodating.

Very nice bizarre Place in a former Water Tower. Nautical Noises on the Way to Reception. Great Breakfast and Food, as you know it from The Mövenpick. The Rooms are a bit small but functional and modern.

Unfortunately, the hotel was a construction site and there was little for breakfast. If then at least the service had worked out, but it took forever to get a cappuchino. On the second day there was also no Mövenpick yogurt. This can hardly be at the construction site.

Unique accommodation in a former water tower. Versatile quality breakfast (Sat and Sun until 2pm, otherwise until 10/30). Clean room. Friendly staff. Recommendations: Ask for a room with a view. Beautiful view over Hamburg.

We were only there one night. The service and reception was more than friendly. And the advice at the bar was great, too. The breakfast was very sumptuous and rich and everyone should have found something there. Even allergy sufferers were taken into account. The rooms were nice and clean. We just didn't have Wi-Fi in the room (but were pointed out and could have swapped as well) and there were construction work in the house right now.

A former watertower perfectly built into a very modern hotel leaving a few ancient structures in a very well restored and gently integrated condition. Very friendly personal, helpful and professional. Comfortable and cozy, very clean rooms, absolutely soundproof. The hotel provides a parking garage and is situated close to a subway and railroad station. A part of the lively Hamburg oldtown is only a few minutes walk away from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay especially the wonderful breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We are looking forward to our next visit. Absolutely recommendable.

Wifi… absolutely useless. To put it in your guest information that the hotel can not guarantee connectivity, and then to also tell a guest on check out that there is nothing you can do about it, is disgraceful for a 4 star hotel, catering to business guests. Most of the time it didn't work at all, and the times I could connect, it was barely fast enough to even check emails. I spent 4 nights and over 800 euros there — I will be taking my custom to another hotel next time, that will afford me the opportunity to be able to work in the evenings and stay in contact with home. Please drag yourselves into the 21st century.

Everything was really nice rooms, breakfast, bar and the people working their were very friendly and helpfull.

Food is excellent.
Service in the whole House excellent… Sometimes the one or other waiter should be more attentive at breakfast… if you are sitting at the table for 15 minutes and desperately want to order a cappuccino… even if you visit the buffet you should not be immediately Clear… just when there are clearly full glasses and cups at the table.
Room Nice… with lots of extras.

Cons: — Poor Wifi (Cable connection was not faster), Poor mobile signal strength, 2 basics that you can expect from a hotel in the +120EUR price range… please get that fixed, its super annoying when you need to work — Rooms are just ok, but very dark (small windows + dark furniture) — gym could be better equipped (no weights at all, …) Pros: — Tasty breakfast — good location — good service.

The bedroom was so hot it was not possible to sleep well. Having the window open means being kept awake by the railway. I know you want to be eco, but not having air conditioning is very poor. My room was €350 per night and for that money I expect a lot better. Friends were staying in other hotels, paying €160 per night with air con and peaceful surroundings. When you are working its very important to sleep well but your rooms are like a sauna. There are not enough waiting staff in the restaurant, particularly at breakfast time. The staff in the Cave Bar are rude and unfriendly. Not going to stay with you again.

Very nice staff. Reception was therefore also great. Luggage was brought to the room. Breakfast had a good deal of choice and delicious! Rooms very nice, modern and you have everything you need can only report good!

Very nice hotel, my room was on 14 floor so I had a nice view over Hamburg. Room was very nice but not so big, everything was really top. Two saunas which are very nice but not very large, but were there alone so no problem. Fitness room is also quite small, that would be the only thing you could complain about. Breakfast was also very good. I'd love to come back.

Good hotel. Very nice and interesting architecture and great location.
However, the rooms were very warm and air conditioning was not there or did not work.
The biggest criticism concerns breakfast. On weekends It is a battle to get a table for more than 2 people. Most of the tables were given to "external" people, who celebrated their birthday or similar, or tables for 4 people were occupied by just 2 people. You should work on the system and the table assignment so that the hotel guests can be offered a stress-free breakfast.

The hotel and location were actually very nice and there were only minor points that we noticed negatively. The window from the bathroom to the bed was somewhat calcification, the shower was generally not 100% clean: water stains were also on the outside of the tub and on the ground before. The heating/air conditioning did not change, which did not bother us, but with our fellow passengers had to come twice the technician.

Very interesting design. Check in and check out is fast and friendly. Great breakfast with a large continental spread (best thing I liked of the hotel). I checked into a twin bed room, which was spacious for the price and gives you choice of pillows. Rooms are well maintained. They could have also provided a kettle to make coffee/tea. Seems like its available in higher priced rooms. The restaurant doesn't open for Sunday diner and they suggested I have food at the cave bar. Ambiance is good and good choice of drinks. The burger was a disappointment. The place is very close the U and S stations and so you can get to any where in Hamburg. You will find an isolated entrance with an escalator that takes you the reception. For first timers and if you have not read any review you will be confused what to do when you enter. Also only a few english TV channels just news. The Wi-Fi is sufficient.

Hotel itself was very clean, modern and appealing to the eye. Restaurant was also nice with good quality food and wine. I paid in cash when I arrived, but then had this charged to my credit card, I spoke to reception and eventually they admitted they had made a mistake, but mistakes like this should not be made, and I felt that something more, such as a free drink in the restaurant would have been acceptable as some type of admentmnet, but nothing is what I got, apart from the money recreditted.

Nice ambiance, cave look. Great piece of cake received, very nice and attentive service. Unfortunately the tower could not be visited but still a clear recommendation. Attention the entrance is at the bottom of the road.

The Mövenpick Restaurant is located in the Mövenpick Hotel in the Stern Hill. The ambiance of the restaurant is very demanding and the staff were very professional. The three course menu was at a high level and delicious.

The architecture of the hotel in the shell of an old water tower is impressive. The rooms are not big but perfectly designed. Furthermore, I would like to mention the perfect location of the hotel lose to a subway station and the interesting Schanzenviertel, last but not least and the exceptionally good quality of the breakfast.

Clean and modern rooms in the heart of the Stern Hill. Easy access to public transport. The view is great, service and food excellent. Centrally, the Alladin musical can be reached very well from here. Highly recommended.

One of the most extraordinary hotels in all of Hamburg. High standard, courteous service and a building with its own history and charm. The rooms offer the necessary comfort and size. Also the bathrooms are at the same level. In this class you often find the usual traces of the joints in the bathroom. Here you look in vain. One of the best breakfasts, pleasant bar and an adequate fitness and sauna area. Only one pool I would still wish for. All in all, great.

Were over the weekend here to switch off a little. It was a very nice stay hotel very clean and the staff very friendly. The rooms are relatively large. The breakfast was varied and everything fresh.
The price was OK thank you very much.

I absolutely do no agree with your upgrade/upsell policy. We were told that no room with one big bed was available but for an extra charge we could get one (this was told to the persons before us at check in as well). Also, the day before I received an email with an upgrade offer (not being able to use the day at check in). To meet it looks like Mövenpick Hotels is looking to make extra money out of room upgrades. Other hotels do this free of charge if the applicable room category is booked out. The beds were old and u / v shaped. Even putting the beds together did not help sleeping close to each other. Very bad for 4* hotel and Superior bedroom. Not again. Next time I choose a different hotel. Very Disappointing experience — despite being a cool hotel in a great environment.

I enjoyed my stay in the Hotel very much. Awesome location and definitely my favorite Hotel in Hamburg. Will be my 1st choice for the next trip. A big thank you to the Hotel staff as well.

Very interesting rebuilt building. Spacious and comfortable rooms. The restaurant is very nice but beware of the entrées, they are very scarce (some of them)

Central to everywhere & right in the middle of the CBD. Friendly staff & nice clean rooms.

The hotel is set in an old water tower and has a special ambience. The rooms are modern and cosy, the lobby and the bar are very exclusive. Only the entrance via a long escalator is unique.

A nice hotel. The rooms are not huge, a few M2 more, the whole thing would already relax. But the room is tastefully decorated and the staff very nice.

I have visited the hotel for a seminar. The building and the lobby are very attractively designed. The "breaks" supply during the seminar with café, snacks and cakes was strikingly good — the same goes for the normal restaurant: nicely decorated and tasty food. The staff is very friendly. Due to the shape of the building, the small conference rooms are only suitable for up to 10 persons.

The slowest reception I have ever experienced and the hotel is designed for Asian guests according to its own statement and so there are mainly rooms with two 80cm single beds that can not even be pushed together thanks to the fixed dessert in between. Incredibly stupid conception and construction. Instead of sleeping for 160€ in an 80cm single bed, I prefer to go to MotelOne next time where I get a 140cm bed for 80€. And also the breakfast can keep up there. Waste.

Unique hotel with interesting rooms. Clean and updated rooms. Helpful staff. Breakfast buffet here is stocked with absolutely anything you could want.

Excellent staff. Great breakfast. Great hotel. The only drawback is the bathtub which is very high and is an obstacle for older guests. Bathtub and shower would be a better solution.

Nice hotel located in a former water tower. Nice rooms even though not so spacious. Incredible all you can eat breakfast buffet. Very well situated near Underground stations (U2 and U3), with direct access to downtown.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Highly recommended! Excellent breakfast. Very well located close to many restaurants. The staff is very helpful and amicable. Beautiful decor preserving some of the original water tank structure which it was built on.

Definitely better from the outside… it's a water turned into a hotel with some certainly unique looks and everything… still the rooms are joke both in size as well as design. This would all be fine if the hotel wouldn't consider itself as a luxury hotel. In this category, there plenty of better options to be found in Hamburg.

At the reception you do not feel very well taken care of, did not feel I would want to help someone, several questions remained without proper answer. Very bad because the hotel is very nice and interesting. Wellness hm na ja 2 saunas and 4 loungers are not yet a wellness for me. No massages or other cosmetic treatments! Staff : Restaurant and bar just fantastic! Kitchen (breakfast) grim and unfriendly! Rooms very nice! Located directly at a metro and S train station For the connection to the city or port just perfect but walking in the evening is not too much fear! You get stupid and intrusive!

Quirky hotel made from an old Gothic water tower. The staff were great as was the food. The rooms are very stylish, but suffer from to much form over function. With no drawers or a place to leave your case. Overall very good and central fit walking to other bars and restaurants. With the train station there as well.

Tasteful reconstruction of a water tower. Practical rooms. Conveniently located walking distance from Sternschanze U. Bahn and the 181 bus route. Breakfast open till 2pm on weekends and has a respectable spread. Sauna and gym are well equipped and mostly empty.

Great location, not huge rooms but fully functionable and lovely staff! The food was excellent for a casual dinner… And again the staff are amazing! The room was fully prepared for my child's arrival.

Nice concept, in a bad location and spatially bounded by circular shape of the former water tower. Unfortunately, the parking garage is usually busy, so you must park-valued cars in the middle of the Hill district. The city is not zuläufig — at the time busy due to price advantage, which was however compensated by taxi fees.

Mövenpick is a very nice, clean hotel in a fantastic neighborhood. It might be trying just a bit too hard to be hip, but it has a charm of its own. The location is probably its best feature, for me. I would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel, clean and spacy rooms. Conference rooms are modern and stylish, very kind staff. Food was delicious, kind of upper but not luxury class. Ask for rooms on level 12 and up (to 16), they have a fantastic view over Hamburg.

The area around the hotel wasn't great, but it was right next to a U-Bahn and S-Bahm station, as well as being a short walk from some local attractions. The rooms were clean and used the space well. Service was great.

Just recommend it. Architecturally an absolute feast for the eyes. Room top, breakfast buffet was very tasty!

Great atmosphere and excellent location. No free Wi-Fi included and tiered Wi-Fi products were a negative. The gym is nice and ok equipped but better to go out for a run around the Alster.

Architecturally amazing, one from the Marvel no longer comes out. What you can do from an old water tower. The rooms are unfortunately rather small advised (we were very quiet on the eleventh floor, window can only be tilted), not suitable for people with allergies, very dusty and old carpet floors.
There is a sauna that is also very nice, Finnish sauna and Saunarium exist. Small relaxation room and showers. Unfortunately in vain looking for drinking water, since you must go to the gym.
The staff in the restaurant is insane and totally helpful, the reception leaves something to be desired. There it is is nuisance value as a guest.
The location is very good, after 50m, you have access to the U3 already direction landing bridges.

Short break in Hamburg with three nights at the Mövenpick Hotel. Is centrally located at S — and subway stations. Rooms were spacious, quiet, comfortable air-conditioned and equipped depending on the floor and location, with a great view over Hamburg. Staff very friendly and obliging.
We have not tested the breakfast.
My Tip: to have plenty of rest asks for a room from the railway line opposite.

Location and premises of the Mövenpick Hamburg are outstanding: the hotel rooms in the former water tower and offer spectacular views.
And in the restaurant you can eat excellent, the staff is very friendly and humorous ;-)
