We stayed for a short break in the inn. This is located in the small village of Schönau in a quiet and beautifully laid out side street. The location is enchanting and offers a variety of excursions.
Despite outside temperatures of over 32 degrees, the rooms were not overheated and clean. These are spacious to the Feldberg with balcony and offer a beautiful view of the mountains. There was fresh fruit on arrival and every day there was a chocolate greeting on the bed. Also great was the bath bag with extra bath towels and bathrobes, which is lovingly packed ready.
The spa area offers a swimming pool and two saunas, as well as two separate relaxation rooms for the pool and sauna. Also this area was very clean, although here and there you can see a few rust spots, which do not detract from the bathing fun. With the hot temperatures outside, you could cool down in the pool inside, but that doesn't mean the water was cold. On the contrary, very pleasant and also suitable for toddlers. Only the shower curtains could be replaced with a shower door.
We have booked the nights with half board. Unfortunately, we cannot identify with the opinions about the food of other reviewers. We were very much looking forward to a regional cuisine.
The breakfast was very manageable and little choice. Daily freshly sliced fruits and vegetables as well as at least two types of bread rolls (there were only wheat rolls) would be nice. Sausage and cheese selections were larger 2 days a week than on other days. Although the cook puts a lot of effort into it, the scrambled eggs were unfortunately out of the Tetra Pack.
The daily dinner was varied in the selection, but all dishes, whether soups or main courses, tasted salty.
However, the salads were fresh and the desserts prepared with love.
The owners of the hotel were friendly and always provided small attentions. However, in the evening, the service staff gave the impression that children are not so welcome. Among other things, a new suitfore for the child had to be asked every day. You didn't feel like she liked to do her job, a smile would have been nice.
All in all a beautiful trip with lots of nature and relaxation.
