Review of B&B HOTEL Lille Tourcoing Centre 2*

We stayed in the hotel as I was taking part in a local cycling event and, having read the reviews, it looked ok. Firstly, it is fairly straightforward to find but parking around the hotel is difficult. I couldn't find anywhere to drop off my gear so had to use a side street, if you have lots of luggage be aware of this. There is a large free car park 5 mins walk from the hotel so that is where I left my car for the majority of the stay. Check in was via an automated system as reception is open only during limited hours. That said it was straightforward for me but there were other guests who were having problems gaining access. The room itself was adequate but not great, it has the basic amenities — TV, en suite etc. Wi-Fi worked fine. The decor was a bit grubby. There is no soap in the bathroom other than a wall mounted dispenser on the wall of the shower which wasn't great, If you need shampoo, best bring your own. The hotel is close to the centre on Tourcoin, there are a few bars and restaurants around the main square — 5 mins walk — and they were perfectly acceptable and not too expensive. There is also a large shopping centre close by if you need water, snacks etc. We had breakfast on both days, I would say it is just about acceptable, no fruit but everything else you would expect in a 3 star hotel. The Sunday was very busy and the staff had trouble keeping the food topped up so you may have to wait for coffee, croissant etc. Overall, the cost of the hotel was a little higher than the quality would suggest but it was convenient for the event I was participating in. Would I use it again? Probably not, but if you are OK with the basics then it will meet your needs.
