The hostel is well placed, quiet. The room is simple and the bedding good. The breakfast is top, pastries and delicious bread. The terrace furniture are comfortable to sit in the sun with a book.

The menu of the restaurant is a little light, but the few dishes on offer are perfectly mastered.

Arrived at 11:40 to quench our thirst we had to insist on getting a drink. The tables are set up for dinner. After a good 5 minutes of waiting a sommelier came to us and asked us again if it was us who wanted to JUST have a drink. Home of the most unpleasant. And it's true that cashed only 7 Euro is not worth serving passers-by.

Very poorly received. We had booked a weekend in love and as soon as the arrival, the restaurant was closed without us being warned. I was kindly remarked when I asked if it was possible to eat in the evening that "I was tall and I knew how to read".
A family problem forced us to leave early. No commercial gesture has been offered to us.
We will not go back.

Very nice hotel, rooms were clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was provided for everything. The coffee was very good. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed so we had to look for a restaurant in Gerardemer where we got to 5 a table without having previously reserved.

Terrible service in the restaurant, the waiter in a dirty apron and with a strong runny nose.

We too have eaten in this restaurant On August 14, during the fireworks, we had yet to book our table and when we arrived we were installed on a common table wooden picnic anger is rising e have asked to see the chief over there has given us a unique menu at 35 € per person to eat the salad of the paleron and the chocolate mousse I find that it is a bit expensive, We were asked to review the chef but apparently he has not wanted to meet us he told the waitress that if we were not happy we had to release so I strongly recommend to go in this restaurant you could have big surprises yet we it was a good start initially, we we drank the drink slowly, it was far from suspecting the end of the evening I I warned the waitress that I will not do the good pub thing called the thing made.

Horrible, avoided absolutely … We booked a table for the 14th of July when we arrived we were installed on a common picnic table Nic then we waited 30 minutes before we came to take the order of the aperitifs and the same time for us to bring them. For the meal … not even warned that it was a barbecue with cold buffet the waitress A was unable to give us the price of this menu … likewise for the rosé that we took while eating … a real fiasco plus nothing in the displays, more meat! The worst was the addition hooked you well €92 for 2 people … 2 plates at 30 euros, 3 pieces of meat and a beet salad 1 Orangina in a glass 4 euros and a bottle of rosé at 28 euros! It's shameful! If you are looking for a restaurant in Gerardmer I strongly advise against the Lakeside Inn. Quality of the service zero, no organization, waitresses incompetent, the price is unjustified for a barbecue or he had nothing, boss rude and not at all professional.

Very disappointed. The place is beautiful. But 2 hours to eat while there are 10 tables is not possible especially with children who are 2 years old. Nice exterior with terrace, game air and Transat but the reception not very warm and a really long time for the order taking to the point that we left without eating on the spot. This was reported to the boss who seemed to care. Really disappointed with this welcome … Damage.

We spent one night in a family in this hostel via the website Booking because we did not know anything in the region. The view from the room (12) was fabulous, the room itself is tidy and friendly, nice hotel, beautifully decorated and directly on the edge of the lake. However for the price we would have expected better in terms of service. The hotel was closed, locked and no staff on arrival, ok, went through booking, the boss could be notified in late, so it was understood. He left us nevertheless the keys in the mailbox, it was like home. The breakfast was really simple and especially without the service, the boss had arrived, but apparently busy, the staff was in the room, but no one greeted us or told us anything. The buffet was unlimited, but the croissants were dry and covered and the bread absent. The total of 200 euros. I hope that they'll catch up next time!

Very nice view, but all the rest is very poor; the price is way too high for the dishes served (including a blackened steak hachee). An owner who clearly does not care about his guests (which we experienced when we had to come back for a potential double payment due to a banking error). Worst of all we found at multiple places on the terrasse and kids playground dog faeces… (which are suspected to be left behind by the owner's dog who frequently visited our table although it was clearly not appreciated by our family)

Stay away!
This restaurant has changed since two years, we were there Saturday on booking for 10 people, on the occasion of the 70 years of my father-in-law. More than 30 minutes to get a drink, then more than 1 h 30 to see our meal served. Very average meal: fish full of edges (on average 15 per plate), minced chicken and mushroom sauce which actually was a puree of lumps to poultry and mushrooms. We stayed zen because we expected to have a small gesture to the addition, but nothing. When we asked to see the boss, Mr is not moved, the booty well wedged into his chair on the terrace, cigarette in mouth and a half of beer in hand. This gentleman who did not even have the decency to apologize took us high, saying that we were not going to teach him his trade, he blew after service, service that ended when the guests are gone logically. And very light service in view of the number of customers (maximum 40 which we) but Mr was tired… highly full season when the restaurant is full lol in short a bad experience for a moment that had festive. Too bad because it's a restaurant very well located, but by continuing to treat customers this way, it will put the key under the door in a few months to no doubt. I recommend highly (arrived at 1 pm spread at 4: 00… Yes Yes) this gentleman is having fun even comments like this on facebook, that is to say seriously of this so-called restorer.

I am trying to figure out if I am in an episode of hidden camera. This must be a joke. The hotel & restaurant must be run by a clown. The room is full of spiderwebs and cleaning a toilet is also not really their bussines. Decided to eat diner in the hotel. Apart from the total chaos, the food is way to expensive for whats offered. Unorganized, chaotic and unproffesional. I am trying to sleep right now but it seems that the hotel turns into a disco at night. Trying to sleep while there is a constant house beat pounding in your ear is not a easy thing.

Great view of the Lake of Gérardmer! The hostel and rooms are ideal for family stays. The restaurant and its veranda offers a panoramic view of the Lake.

Beautiful setting, nice, good home table. What happiness to rediscover this beautiful region of the Vosges.
