Superior single room: Nothing about this place is crazy exceptional but I also have zero real complaints and almost every aspect was perfectly pleasant. The price is good, the room itself isn’t particularly large but it’s big enough, very clean and comfortable, and the bed is plenty comfortable. The bathroom is the standout: marble head to toe with a huge bathtub and endless hot water. The vanity is large and well-lit for getting ready in the morning, the shower pressure is great, and they lay out everything you could need. The hair drier is plenty serviceable so you don’t need your own, and it come with a magnified lit mirror of its own. The only flaw we’ve encountered here is the mechanics of the bath are extremely confusing — getting the bath to drain is bizarrely difficult. The breakfast however is fantastic — much, much better than any other hotel I’ve been to. Room service is prompt and friendly (we recommend the white wine. ) The location is fabulous — lots of shopping nearby, a dozen cafes within 50 yards of the front door, and two excellent bakeries for breakfast or lunch immediately outside. Even more importantly and more particular to this location is its very close proximity to a metro line that serves multiple metro lines and takes you to almost every other line, as well as very quick access to almost every train line. No major sight we went to is more than fifteen minutes by metro from the hotel. And even though the area is extremely central and busy, the room itself was very quiet. Tl;dr: it’s not a fabulous luxury hotel and doesn’t match what Americans would consider a 4-Star hotel, but European hotels never are and this one is still better than any standard mid-range American chain and cheaper, extremely well located, and perfectly meets all your needs.
