My husband and I were blown away, the staff, the room/hotel atmosphere, the best breakfast, and the overall experience at Hotel Le Marceau Bastille was more than we could have ever expected! We met the owner and interacted with the main staff regularly, including Cyril, David, Keria, Soumare, Veronica, Alakana, they were all so amazing. David went above and beyond, spending hours with us to ensure we had everything booked and made sure our vacation was perfect, and it truly was. The nicest hotel I have ever stayed at, so much so that I will return to Paris and never stay anywhere else! If I could give this hotel 100 stars I would. Thank you again to everyone who helped us and for making this vacation the best vacation we have ever taken!

A very nice Hotel. Yes: The Rooms are small, but thoughtfully furnished and very clean. Breakfast is rich, there is something for everyone. The Staff were also very friendly.

The hotel is very well located. Very quiet. Cleanliness The breakfast was delicious. Slight problem of Wi-Fi in the room which would have made the stay perfect.

Apparently room was upgraded, but it was fairly small. The tap on the sink was not attached correctly so it spun around. There was nowhere to put shower gel or shampoo down in the shower. The shower screen was held in place with a bar at 6 foot and I'm 6 foot 2. The staff however were super, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection.

The rooms were clean and basic. The decor was fine and the hotel is located in walking distance from Gare de Lyon. Some of the staff were a little rude and we felt that we had to be very firm about our expectations (such as getting a twin room, not a double) we were made to feel bad for asking. Ordering room service was a similar ordeal.

Beautiful modern hotel beautifully decorated with works of art, ideally located between Bastille and Gare de Lyon. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a more spacious room on the top floor with a wonderful view of the rooftops of Paris.
The breakfast buffet is plentiful and very good!

Lovely staff and nice rooms. Breakfast was very expensive and there is no working Wi-Fi (including lounge and hotel pc). Location is good, 5 minutes to many restaurants, 2 minutes to a supermarket and 5 minutes to metro.

Good location and okay breakfast, night concierge acted weird and didn't want to let us in at first. Hotel was okay overall but I got a piece of clothing stolen by the cleaning staff.

This hotel was very nice, clean and the staff were very polite and welcoming. Our room was a decent size with a nice size bathroom/Inc shower. We didn't pay over the odds for what we got but it was a pleasure staying there. The location is a nice short walking distance to the vibrancy of Paris as well as nice restaurants and bars. My partner and I have agreed that we would definitely stay there again.

Hotel was amazing: — really good located — rooms nice looking (but quite small, but rather similar to other hotels in Paris) — nice personal (even if my daughter mess things, and they had to clean it) — and the most important — breakfast — they were one of best, that we have eaten Unfortunately — we won't back to this hotel, as is quite expensive (we had cheaper nights from HRS Deals).

The hotel and its staff are great, all attentions and trying to facilitate life on holiday, which is not easy. The facilities are very clean and cosy. We had a superior room quite large and with a bathroom that was not missing anything.
The location of the hotel, in the heart of Bastille, is very suitable given its proximity to the river and the Marais, neighborhood with many troops; at the same time it allows you to enjoy the precise tranquility for rest after the days of "promenade" by Paris.
Highly recommended.

I stayed 2 nights at hotel marceau: somebody used and broke my ipad, in my room, while I was out of the hotel. The manager did not even want to speak with me about it on the phone (he wasn´t there at all, even when I came back, two times). Then I was asked to go to the police station in order to bring some kind of paper for the hotel´s insurance. Of course nobody called me after I did and the manager was still not there. ). My advice: find another place to stay, at least with honest people, Paris is full of nice hotels, don´t lose your time here! (The receptionist was really nice, but he couldn´t do anything to help me further. ).

Please, don't comment on the size of rooms — have you stayed elsewhere inside Paris? or in any of NYC hotels below $400 a night? rooms have everything you need, breakfast is nice, small seletion but very good quality. Area is really nice too, tons of restaurants around, gare delyon 5 minute walk away, bastille same. Explore nearby marais.

Clean, modern, excellent breakfast. Located on a quiet street. The staff were intelligent and courteous, and spoke English well enough that I didn't need to know a lot of French. When I was there (April 2012), the lobby was like a modern art gallery — lots of really cool studio photography and a few sculptures. I think the photos were available for purchase from the artist. There is a small courtyard that is open to all guests. The rooms are a little small by American standards, but it's not a Holiday Inn, it's a boutique hotel in one of the oldest cities in the world. It's perfect if you need a classy place to sleep in between days of soaking up Parisien culture (which is what you should be doing).

Did anyone who rated the hotel online actually stay in it? A few issues: 1. Room is literally the size of a postage stamp (asked to change and they said all rooms were the same). My partner and I cannot move at the same time (one has to sit on bed) 2. Bathroom has no ventilation — no dehumidifier at all — the match-box size room looks like a swamp after use. 3. No nightstand. 4. Had to ask for plates for breakfast.
