Excellent stay. Beautiful room, clean and spacious, pleasant staff and little care for its guests. I recommend.

Highly recommended! Good hygiene and good location. Just 2 stops from the Gare de l'Est, the Metro République has several metro lines, which allows you to get anywhere quickly. A great breakfast with good selection (good coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice…). A good hygiene concept, clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice atmosphere… and lastly, the location right next to the Marais district is the reason why this will not have been my last visit.

We stayed at the General on a stopover in Paris. We arrived late but that was no problem. The night staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was great. Very cool! After a great breakfast we left our bags and explored Paris for the day then returned to the hotel to carry on our journey. The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable. We hope to return for a longer stay! Thank you.

A superb hotel. Superbly down to Earth, yet nice and trendy. Such lovely and personable staff. All guests are welcomed with a drink of their choice, coffee, tea, etc, and treared to a complementary glass of champagne, as well as a detailed briefing on the city’s many points of interest. Such a nice detail. Absolutely impecable and stylish rooms that make you feel you’ve truly arrived in Paris! Our room (#27), although small, had two Juliette balconies, one of them in the bathroom. My only wish would be the addition of a minifridge. Perfectly located in a quiet street, and yet a stone throw from the Marais, Place de la Republique. Can’t wait to come back.

One of the best hotel in Paris :) The rooms are spotless, extremely well decorated and equipped with everything you need and want (l’occitane is used here)!
The breakfast is delicious and cater for every need. The hotel is situated in a great location and the staff is extremely friendly but super professional.

Stayed for 4 nights at this place with my family. Is a really great place. Service is quite good by Parisian standards. Ramon who works in the front office is a fantastic guy. Very very approachable and helpful. He is absolutely amazing. The rooms are nice. A bit small but then very well appointed. Great place to stay. Will highly recommend to all.

Nice and cozy great location.

The hotel is very close to a metro and so you can easily reach many attractions. There is also a lot to be achieved on foot. Restaurant in the immediate vicinity. Hotel room clean and very well furnished. Breakfast could be better. Although there is fresh O-juice but the cheese and the sausage is not edible and that in France. But overall better than we have experienced in France.

Great hotel. Very friendly staff welcoming on arrival and helped us plan our visit to Paris, giving some tips and tricks only Parisians would know about. Rooms are well appointed and are very modern. Smartphones in rooms which you can take out and use as a city guide. Would recommend for a visit to Paris. Breakfast is nice too.

Stylish small hotel between La Republique and Battle (Metro 5 & 9) with tasteful, very quiet rooms. Friendly, very helpful staff with good tips for the interesting neighborhood.
Spacious Le Occitaine-bath accessories and TGL. Evian bottle. Smartphone belongs to the room, as well as Gr. Flat screen and even USB double socket.
Very extensive breakfast buffet with omelette, salmon and pancakes, O-juice for self-tapping on fully automatic machine, as well as Prof. Full-coffee machine. Everything is laid down until 10h, on the We till 11h (included in direct booking).
Welcome Champagne (or farewell).
Paris took us in spite of completely unberäumten snow so that we did not try Gym & Sauna: We are guaranteed to come back!

If I come back to Paris, bus, and attractions gladly again here. Clean, well maintained and the staff helpful. Au revoir.

Tonight is my first night at Le General Hotel, but I love it already. My room isn't big, but is cozy and clean, it is quirky and has a lot of personality — I like it. But the main plus for me is the staff — the concierge Vic (k) toria really brightened up my day. I was having a rough morning start and she did her best to help me and get me everything I needed, all with a smile. Would 100% stay here again.

Been there twice. Cozy and nice, but small rooms though. Personnel nice and helpful.

Very cosy interior, great service and young personel. Rooms are on the small side but still very luxurious. A lot of the major attractions of Paris are at walking distance (not the Eiffel Tower), otherwise you can take the subway which is about 200m away from the hotel.

Our stay (Christmas day! ) has been dramatic : my wife was robbed of his bag in the room, breakfast in the full morning between 10.30 and 11am. Outside papers to redo, opposition bank to be put in place, this was also 3 hours of waiting in a police station to file a complaint. A Christmas memorable thanks to the Hotel General. Such negligence in terms of security is scandalous for a hotel that claims 4 stars. Unacceptable!

Modern and good place for casual drinks with some friends.

The hotel is cozy and we'll designed. Bathrooms are equipped with L'Occitane products. The accoustic isn't great and the cleaning staff wasn't mindful of guests sleeping. They were loud and banging stuff in the corridor. I had left a do not disturb sign on my door, which obviously ment they should have been a bit more careful.

For Paris standards it's a very good hotel in terms of space, cleanliness and service.

Really lovely little boutique hotel. Get bar area for meetings with free sweets and drinks. Rooms are small but all you need, lovely nespresso machines in rooms and big TV.

Very nice place nicely decorated, very friendly reception with Champagne Cup offered on arrival (the Class! ), good breakfast, in short had a nice time.

Amazing hotel. Superb staff. Rooms are small — don't stay here if you aren't slim. I'd give it 5 stars if it was located on the Left Bank. Neighborhood has some shopping and dining gems but Place Republique is sketchy so walk south and west. This neighborhood does not feel like The Marais.

Very nice hotel in a good part of Paris. Very close to the metrostation le republic. Room was a bit small but very clean and well decorated. Big bathroom with a bath. Very friendly staff and they can give good help with tips off nice spots! The room was a bit noisy with sounds from outside the hotel. (Traffic) but this was the only complaint. Bed was very good. And the choice of food at breakfast was superb. Can advice this hotel when you visit Paris. When we come back we will definitely book again!

7 years that we go to the General… That is to say if we feel good about it!
Home, service… everything is there for a good time in Paris.
And this year, we're taking our 5-year-old son there. Can't wait to be there.

We loved this hotel. The staff were very helpful & friendly & it has a great retro vibe. The breakfast is great & a good selection of food is available. Close to the metro station also. If we come back to Paris we will stay here again.

Funky clean and nice! Shower could be better though.

The pros:
1. Great and friendly staff (at the reception, at breakfast, room service…)
2. The room was for Paris' norms spacious (perfect for 3)
3. Bathroom was also well equiped
4. I loved the breakfast. You want eggs, "saucisses"; bacon, yoghourt, fruits, muesli, ham, cheese, vache-qui-rit, Nutella, … even healthy sweets.
5. When you check in, you receive a nice tea and some information and map of the staff. I never had this before. I really enjoyed it and you feel immediately welcome and at home. The cons:
1. The "joints" between the tiles in the shower place. Everything is so clean, but filty joints are really not nice in a 4* TIP : Ask for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 (They are the most spacious, and silent because the these rooms are at the back. They are near the elevators but you don't hear any noice of them)

Bon accueil. Chambre propre de grandeur acceptable pour Paris. Ambiance moderne. Secteur rempli de bon petits restos. Je reviendrais ici.

Good location, good service, nice decoration, but this hotel is not a 4 star.
If you decide to reside, refuse room 65. This one is very small. The double bed, while comfortable, is against a wall so impossible to get around. We could have to comply if it had not been this incessant noise of boiler, blower or other infernal machine that never stopped. Didn't sleep because of such a sound while it was the feast of music outside, is the height.

The hotel is not worth 4 stars pe number of reasons:
cleanliness in rooms.
The room was never cleaned before 12.30 and when specifically requested that it be done before, the answer is vague ("there are before other room where arriveanno new customers that take precedence") and still no results.
at the lounge and reception music is left high from 10 am to 16 also, creating reverberations in all rooms.

Go to the hotel in his home town, the feeling is delicious, strange, exciting. We arrived around 10: 00. Welcome from the receptionist that let us alone in our… more. It is composed of a small room with a small adjoining living room separated by a hallway where two sinks are recessed, giving the bathtub in the room. The space is optimised to the maximum.
The deco is nice and tasteful, but with some problems finishing. Handles bad thoughts, paint that spills over the complaints. One quibble? No doubt, but 300 room that it has not paid, is allowed.
Here's to the flats. For the rest a night perfect. With adequate foreplay (the Apple on the pillow) and the robe on the bed, clean and above all no noise because the room overlooks a quiet astonishment to the District Court. The General's campaign!
But the best of the best is the breakfast. The buffet is excellent, the food varied, fresh and altogether worthy of 4 stars * of the General. The space is very nice and the service impeccable.
Oh I almost forgot, there is a fitness center but that was closed during our visit.

Nice hotel, 5 min walk from the Metro station. Quiet side street in a lively area good breakfast (continental more than! ). Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms, but the rooms are not huge. There are several good restaurants around the hotel. On the subway, you can reach all ends of Paris. Recommended.

Nice hotel with great balconies if you can get one. Breakfast is good. Cleanliness leave a lot to be desired (i. E. Dirty towels refolded, dirty corners and the like). Want a phone in your room, no. Want a phone a the lobby, no. Want a staff that will listen or offer help for simple requests, no. I say pass and find a better hotel for your money.
