Amazing experience! I cannot say enough good about this great hotel! The staff are beyond helpful. They offer before you can even ask. The entire staff were helpful and friendly the whole time. The location is perfect! Close to everything and the Metro. Not only would I stay there again and again, I would highly recommended it to anyone passing through. You will not regret it!

We had breakfast included, which was continental style — Eggs, meats & cheese. Pastries. Cereals. Fruit & yoghurts. Tea & coffees, etc. Nothing fancy, but more than enough to set us up for a busy sightseeing day.
I would come here again, and that’s a compliment from someone picky like me.

Whilst a bit out of the centre of Paris it is comfortable but the most impressive thing about this hotel is they are so welcoming and friendly. If you are not fluent in French that is very very important. You can sleep anywhere but here you have a great experience. Thank you Zyad and the other staff.

We have just spent a week at the hotel and could not possibly be happier. Our breakfasts were delicious, our room was comfortable, the hotel staff are helpful and delightful. The 6 minute walk to Metro Nation was a great way to start and the day. And to make connections for wherever you want to go.

This was a very pleasant find — really friendly staff and very nice rooms, handy for metro so well worth being slightly away from central Paris.

The Pakistani at the reception took himself for a king and despised me. I'm not putting my feet down. It's just a 3 star hotel and the guy believed himself in a palace and he expects to see Saudi princes and princesses in his greasy spoon at 100 euros. Ultra Tiny Room.

This was about a three-and-a-half-to-four star hotel but they did everything they could to make it a five-star experience. Great customer service, including recommendations and calling tours or taxis when you need them. Amenities include nice bath products, including shower gel and conditioner as well as a hose hair dryer. Elevator is small — fits four or two with luggage — but is very convenient when you're on the top (6th) floor or have a lot of luggage. Our rooms were smallish but clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Go with the breakfast option if you have the choice — it was, to my uncultured American palette, fantastic. :P Baguettes, croissants, crepes, dried fruit, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, jams, Nutella, and several cheese options because, apparently in France, you always serve cheese. It wasn't super central to Paris but it was right next to a metro stop, which we mastered in a couple days, and if you want to hit the Lovre, Eiffel Tower, D'Orsey, etc. You'll need to take the Metro anyway. Restaurants and the ubiquitous boulanger are all within a block or two. Important note: their website claims to offer the lowest prices but I found a slightly-cheaper rate via an online vendor. When I called to see if they'd match the price, they told me there were some non-reputable sites offering better rates that were not valid; they had had customers show up with paid "reservations" that they were unable to honor.

I am a regular guest of the hotel for business purposes. I can only point out the friendliness of the staff and their professionalism and this, always with a smile. Rooms very comfortable, beautiful standing, a safe and even certain address.

Hotel on a human scale, where one is very well received. Welcome, very nice and caring. The rooms and the general ambiance of the hotel have a stamp authentic, warm, and very comfortable. This is a hotel that has a soul. It just feels good. Buffet breakfast well stocked and varied.

Room was quite small but very clean and not a bad location. Lift was super slow and old! Staff were nice and friendly.

Had a comfortable stay our first trip to Paris. Hotel is conveniently located between Rue de boulet and National metro stops. Great value!

We checked in on a Saturday (with Vanessa) and checked out on a Tuesday (with Mariette). Vanessa and Mariette were both phenomenal. They were extremely helpful (recommendations, directions, etc. ) and accommodating (supplied toiletries and spoke with Air France MULTIPLE times to track our luggage) as our baggage was delayed for two out of the three days of our stay here. As a welcome, you receive a drink (on the house) upon your arrival (very nice after almost 12 hours of travel and learning our luggage didn’t make it). The room was very clean, the shower was excellent (water pressure), and I loved the house shoes they supply. The breakfast (additional cost if not included in your hotel stay) was excellent. It included meat, cheese, pastries, and various types of coffee. My husband and I ventured out around 8AM each morning, and we did not typically return until 10PM each evening. The neighborhood felt very safe. The closest Metro Station (Rue de Boulets) is less than a five minute walk away which is VERY convenient; this station and Nation (around a 5 minute walk) are the two stations we used the most to get to the major attractions. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

Room clean, comfortable bed, TV (classic channels TNT), shower and WC, nice staff, breakfast (supplement of €12) with mini pastries, coffee and juice of apples or oranges at will. Nothing to complain about, the next time I'm in Paris I go back.

A Grand Hotel indeed! Loved, loved, loved our stay at this place. The service provided was exceptional, everybody always stood and smiled to greet us. Very clean and tidy. Staff had local knowledge and could suggest on how to get places and were also happy to organise it. We thought it was a great location also. Will recommend this hotel to anyone!

On July 2017 my family and I, a total of 9 people stayed at this hotel as we were touring Europe. This hotel was located in a very convenient location that is in walking distance to the nearest subway. The staff was extremely friendly, especially Marriet and Vanessa who worked at the front desk. They were very helpful, pleasant, and provided excellent customer service. The rooms were very comfortable, and the hotel was clean and inviting. Zyad is the owner, heir of one of the most ancient hotelier family. He is so charming and he always take good care of me. I love the area, the bars around Bastille and Parmentier. And the food is great with restaurant like bistrot Paul Bert, Chardenoux or Mansouria.

Great home for all the staff. The rooms are very decent. Good address to note if you need to take the RER a.

The rooms are small even for a three-person room which we booked. Breakfast is great. It is quite a bit of walk to and from the tram station. Staff are great except for the Indian guy at the reception who was arguing with us the next morning for letting our son sleep in our bed. He is insisting that our son sleeps on the second bed in our room. Seriously, this is none of your business. Overall, I think that this hotel is too pricey for its location and quality.

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was clean and the service was superb. Our concierge was helpful in navigating the city and providing restaurant recommendations. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. It had been updated and came with amenities like a mini fridge and a hairdryer. The location was safe and close to the metro. We would definitely recommend this hotel to those traveling to Paris.

We will not come back again. The staff were very helpful In stress occasions they were not able to handle their reactions. They don't know how to speak to the guests and are not able to be calm in a stressfull situation, even if they finish by appologies it's far too late — clean but not friendly. We will not return. Although the staff was very receptive to our requests before the trip, they were unable to manage our stay and when we had complaints they were unable to keep their calm. I only recommend this hotel to people with few means or few requirements. On the other hand the hotel is very clean. Which allows me to put two stars and not 1.

Great value for money. Friendly owner who takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and recommending local restaurants, attractions and activities. This part of town is lovely and still is a village where Parisians live and go out and about their daily routines.

Although my room was small it was well equipped, clean and soundproof. The breakfast is very good. Too bad the room is in the basement.

Dismal.
The room does not match what we had booked… we are called "anguished" after we are up in the room to make sure "everything is fine"… We are here to have a good time, and do not want to take our heads, we let go.
The bathroom is ridiculously small (not possible to stick to two) the stairs are not to standards and the elevator is tiny, slow, and not reassuring.
We sleep a first night, and go shopping and walk. Returning after eating very well in a small restaurant nearby, an employee invective us asking for our room number (we have already passed him half a dozen times that day). We are tired, in a hurry to go to sleep, I give it tersely our number… and there he explains us that we can not ride (what? ).
We're trying to extort an extension cord because we're 3. "Yes, well, nice deal: we booked for 3"… We are told that it is impossible, that moreover they do not have rooms for 3… except the rooms for 3 (look for error). I explain to them that even if there is not the Jacuzzi announced in the reservation, there are well 3 beds (a double bed and an extra bed) in the room… But the employee does not like it: there is the security of the establishment, we can not be 3 in the room, unless we pay an extra (Ha good? If I pay extra, more security concerns? ).
It's late I'm tired, the employee's behavior is at best delusional, at worst dishonest, I ask him to call the management… who is not reachable.

We arrived at the hotel on Monday after getting married on Sunday, upon mentioning we were on our honeymoon we were given an upgrade and a bottle of wine. A lovely hotel with friendly staff. I would stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

If you can get a good rate for this hotel, then you should strongly consider booking here. My wife and I had a great stay at this hotel. Advantages: Friendly front desk staff Two blocks from the Nation metro hub Great continental breakfast Several fun nearby restaurants Rooms were very clean Free Wi-Fi for planning your daily trips Disadvantages: Rooms were a bit on the small side No "five star" hotel frills (which I don't care for, anyhow)

I stayed here last year. Just corrected some typos, so ignore the posted date. The rooms here are small but were very clean. The front desk helped me book a room at a good rate where they could have priced it much higher. The Hotel is close to the subway and the staff were very helpful in giving directions. The staff spoke clear English. The area had good blend of tourist and non-tourist shops and Cafés. Best of all a pharmacy was in walking distance when I needed it.

Nice rooms and friendly staff. The Breakfast is served in the cellar, but was always sufficient. Also the connection via Metro is good, the Hotel is visited again.

We arrived very late from Rome via the famous TGV. The staff was very accomodating and we loved our room which was decorated with special touches because this was our 32nd Anniversary. We had a great room, excellent service and loved the neighborhood. When we return to Paris this is where we will stay! Thank you very much L. A. And… More.

The staff are great and the nearby nation metro is very well connected for exploring the city. The room was small but comfortable enough. Wouldn't recommend getting the breakfast because it's nothing special and there's a fantastic baker just down the road. I think it would be hard to beat in this price range.

Very welcoming staff. Ask anything! 7/24 reception. Room service everyday. Less than a minute walk to metro station. On the one end of the boulevard is Republique on the other end is Nation. Small but cute. We had everthing we needed. Cheers.

Stayed for two nights in September 2015 for work Pros: Very friendly and pleasant reception staff (despite my poor French) Convenient location between metro stations (rue des boulets and Nation) Well laid out room Quiet despite central location Cons: Small rooms (inevitable for the location) Cleaning staff ignored the 'do not disturb' door hanger and came in anyway A broken lift during my visit meant using the fairly tight stairs for entire stay.

My room in this hotel was very small. Once we opened our luggages on the floor there was no place to walk. I've stayed in Paris a few times before and all my other rooms were at least 1.5x bigger.

Very reasonably priced. The owner and his staff made us feel welcome. Located within a short walk to two metro lines and a short taxi ride from Eurorail. We got the room with a balcony and it made us feel as though we were Parisians. The room was snug but it had all the comforts. Comfortable bed, TV, AC, Snug Shower and Wi-Fi included. The in-room fridge was stocked with complimentary Wine, cheese and a box of very nice chocolates. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Very nice hotel. Reservation made directly with the hotel by phone and mail for confiramtion. Their response is quick. I booked in the month of August 3 jouyrs before the 15th and I got the room I wanted to with my wife with Jacuzzi. Preoprete. Quiet hotel, the street and the rooms. Good bedding. AC, TV, stereo. A half bottle of champagne as a welcome. Cleanliness of everything! Breakfast was great. Friendly staff. Nothing to complain about. Recommend. Price benefits honest.

Some of the reviews I've read, must be written by the typical ugly American that has no knowledge of the size and typical European accommodations. My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Hotel Grand Francis and it was magical! We arrived before our room was ready, so the manager upgraded us to a better room with a terrace balcony. We did not know the breakfasts were pay-as-eat, but in the end it was comp't. The management even gave us several suggestions on nighttime events that were happened at time in October. He even turns us on to an amazing American-jazz musician who was in Paris that week for the International Jazz-Fusion Festival and gave us a great tip about the Paris Walks tours led by English-speaking, (British to be exact), historians. The whole two-weeks we were there felt as if we lived in the arrondissement surrounding the hotel. If you are going to Paris, know that most hotels are small, (my stay at the Intercontinental Grand in the Opera District was small and it was a Five-star hotel). Also, just make the neighborhood your own, check out the near-by grocers and shops along your street and just meet the people.

Grand Hotel Francais is by no means "grand". Our room honestly is kind of small even though the front desk said he kindly upgraded our room. It reminds me of a room in NYC! However, the room is well kept and the hotel is really close to one of the main subway hubs, Nation stop and another line is 3 minutes walk. There is also a fresh farmer's market close by that opens on Sundays and it is worth checking out for fresh fruits and cheese. We walked to Bastille, Old Cite, Las Marais, etc. From the hotel so it is a great location to be. The area is also very safe and more on the quiet side. We got our room with breakfast and it is really perfect for our stay.

I liked, we would return insurance. Well connected.

We have just returned from a few days away in Paris, staying at the wonderful Grand Hotel Francais. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Paris with excellent transport links. You can pick up a tour bus at the Bastille, which is a pleasant 20 minute walk away. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier, speaking excellent English and were very keen to help. Our wonderful experience of Paris was mainly down to their guidance and advice. The room had recently been refurbished and was superb. The decor was tasteful, particularly the bathroom which had a fantastic power shower! Breakfast was lovely and with plenty of choice. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we will be returning soon.
