I loved the rate, very reasonable. Stayed there a few times. But my last stay I requested for a specific room (Some sentimental value), I wasn't offered that… I booked the room like 2 weeks in advance. I was told at the counter that there is only 2 maids working… There was a note made on my booking for the room so I think they should have gotten that room ready first isn't it! And secondly I was served by a guy who made me wait at the reception like 5 minutes. I didn't mind waiting but when he came he was full eating, and while talking to me he was still chewing… Very unprofessional I think. I understand we are local guests but we are still GUESTS!.

A trip to Fiji my Best friend and I took. Nervous about what was to come. Beautiful scene and views. We are greatly humbled and appreciate The amazing service. A Bula with a cheesy smile from the morning all the way to the end of our day. We got to meet Our one and Only Sam, one of many Intelligent staff at Novotel. Sam showed us around Suva Town and was very helpful. We leave Suva knowing we have a friend to return to. So vi naka to the team at Novotel.

The Staff are just as Genuine as The Hotel itself in Service n Smiles… plus it's Closest to Suva and Privacy is Respected though there's Someone always Ready to assist with Information for Best Bargains and Quality. Be it Shoes, clothes or Food and including Transportation plus The Water Activities are Fun.

The place is very relaxing, the staff are very helpful and accommodating,, and the view is so beautiful, I love it.

Highlights : Friendly staff and comfortable, relaxing interior lounge area. My Birthday cake, vinaka. Finally… a great live music trio on our last night. Please Mr Dearsley, you need this type of entertainment a few nights a week regularly. Guests will love it.
Lowlights:
Low quality rooms. Numerous maintenance issues were raised with reception but couldn't all be addressed in our 1 week stay. Could do with a modern upgrade. Pool area needs more seating. Outer lounge area wooden chairs not very comfortable. Food and drinks pricey. Accor membership is very handy for discounts when dining though.

10 mins drive from Suva. Got sea views and cheaper than holiday inn or grand Pacific. Bed slightly old, rooms are ok but cleaners are a little lazy. Edit: staff responded quickly to room concerns.

Bit disappointing to observe 2-4 year old children of house guest who were feeding bread crumbs and bits of bacon to the fish in the open sea (which is not part of Novotel Hotel Lami) get scolded to by hotels GM. Bit of coaching is required here — how to communicate with infants. What do 2-4 year old know of "environment". In need put a sign in the dining area : do not feed fish with anything other than bread! Rooms: need more lights. Its fairly dark in there. Lot of Indian functions are held at the convention center however Indian ladies have difficulties wearing sarees in the room as there is only one small mirror in the bathroom. Maybe install a full size on the bedroom wall so that they dress up properly. Just a suggestion. Overall all staff are extremely helpful and very hard working. Great service. Cheers. Prasad R.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. My wife and iwould not stay at any other place in Suva just because of the comfort and lovely staff. This time though they went overboard. My car battery died and the maintenance guys actually charged it for me overnight. The executive room was beautiful, overlooking the beautiful and scenic bay. The breakfast is incredible. Looking forward to Novotel Lami again.

Booked six nights, Queen room with a sea view. Upon check in I was given a room facing the car park with perspex covering the glass windows. After two nights I was moved to a room I booked, all good. Beers appeared on my restaurant bill which I never had. Back again the following week for two nights through work and was given the room I booked. However the room had a water leak and as the floor sloped the water ran half the length of the room. They fixed it by putting a bed sheet down. The rooms are extremely tired. Friendly staff but has got to be one of the worst hotels I’ve stopped in for $190 AUD a night.

For Suva it's a nice relaxing place to stay. Staff super friendly, but remember it's Suva and not 4 star food but still decent.

A disgrace to the "Novotel" name and brand. Room smells mouldy, damp, yuk. We've just waited WAY too long for very average food at resort prices. Charging a lot for very little. Horrid smoke wafting through the place this afternoon. With an open air reception, dining area, bar and walkways to rooms it was very unpleasant. To top it off the bugs in the dining area made it a game of swat while we waited for, and then ate our meals. Staff didn't seem to care. The stench in our room was worse after leaving the air conditioner running all afternoon, upon further investigation I found a huge patch of mould in the ceiling and water dripping in the corridor. My daughter commented on the smell of the pillows and so I pulled off the pillow cases to find filthy dirty pillow protectors. Full credit to the duty manager who handled my complaints and arranged another room, calmly and professionally. As other reviewers have written on wotif and other booking websites, it does seem they try and put theses type of reservations into the "other end" of the building. One end is much more modern and clean, the other old and grubby. Very disappointed we booked in here. Hopefully Google posts my photos of this place for the truth that they show. EDIT — Not sure how or if I can reply to Tim, so I am doing this edit. It was great Tim came and introduced himself to us this morning. Tim, as promised I will email you all the photos.

Not even checked in and the customer service is disgusting. Maybe they need more training.

It has a great breakfast area overlooking the sea and is so peaceful and the staff are friendly.

On behalf of our Weleilakeba and Digitaki family, we would like to thank the staff and EXCOM of Novotel Lami for their superb and attentive customer service during our daughter and son-in-law's white wedding ceremony at the main lobby and reception at the Convention Center. Novotel Lami is a special venue to our family including our daughter as Fijians who were raised in nearby Lami town. Thank you Helen and your banquets team for helping us with our enchanted garden theme s…et-up. The rooms were also clean with majestic sea view. Vinaka front office for facilitating our many walk-ins on the day. Buffer breakfast was awesome and tasty. We highly recommend Novotel Lami and is one of the most reasonably priced event locations with beautiful seafront accommodation in Suva, run by some beautiful Fijian souls and their hard working General Manager. Vinaka vakalevu.

Very nice resort we really enjoyed our stay here. Pool is really nice great views rooms always kept imaculate. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed for only one night so couldn't make full use of the facilities, but had excellent service from the friendly staff. As with some other reviews the upstairs room we stayed in could do with a makeover. Room was tidy and matched pictures online but up close/in person it is dated compared to Novotel hotels in other countries. Bathroom had no toilet paper on arrival and only one towel (no face cloths or hand towels either) so we grabbed the spare toilet roll from the wardrobe and asked for an additional towel which was brought up promptly. Shower head attachment on the wall was cracked so had to be used by being held in one hand and bathtub is painted which I can only imagine is a short term measure until a full renovation can be completed. Not sure if all rooms are like this and as for the servicing of the room when we arrived, this is a one off as others in our group had toilet rolls and two towels as would be expected.

Great stay. A FJD 20 taxi ride into the town centre. Food nice. Great waterfront restaurant. Modern rooms.

Excellent hotel, breakfast buffet, good atmosphere, swimming pool, gym, excellent feet with good service, and transportation to the door either public or private.

This is a very low cost, without fragrance hotel. The so-called Seaview Room, only a mess of grass outside the sea just. Sitting in the room can see the sea, it is really rare, but this design so that everyone can walk to your window, no privacy.
The most wonderful is the room floor, tilted toward the sea, so you can not lie flat.
Bed is poor, have lost professional, turn over a body produced squeak will wake up, mattress has been squashed, sleep very tired.
Room noise is terrible, whether it is about, the upper, or corridor, the slightest sound will be amplified to the room, others talk incredibly can hear clearly, really "great" design. The breakfast was very good.

I came to Suva in mid-November as a business traveller. I chose the Novotel to stay at after asking one of the businesses I was visiting for a recommendation. The Novotel is situated near the centre of Suva. The room was clean and pleasant (and a little dated) but good value for money. The view was very nice. There was a swimming pool but no beach — but as a business traveller I did not need either. The breakfast menu was basic but sufficient. It rained every day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi worked well.

Wow. Seen this online and when we arrived it was breathtaking. Stunning view amazing service. Lovely swimming pool. Delicious breakfast included. Service was 10 star.

Well stayed in this hotel earlier this year booked through Expedia who managed to block my review. Hotel rooms carpet were found dirty and mould built up around corners. Beddings and pillows had a distinctive smell, Very deep pool not suitable for kids, food and drinks were expensive. Downstairs room had air gaps and a sea centipede was found crawling on my leg while I was sleeping-very scary experience. Good location, lobby is fantastic, great sea views.

We are regulars at the Novotel (because of my work) and have stayed here on and off for the past 4 years. Compared to most places in Fiji this is an excellent hotel but compared to western hotels it's only average. The breakfast buffet is one of the best in Fiji but grossly overpriced. Hint: If you book through certain online websites you can get a free breakfast. If you are looking for a hotel in Suva there are very few options for a city this size. The Grand Pacific is grossly overpriced but does deliver high end services (with small rooms). The Holiday Inn is nice but also extremely expensive. That means that Novotel is an excellent choice, especially if you get the free breakfast ;)

A very good hotel in a beautiful environment. The hotel is a ways out of town — about 20 mins drive — but the setting is just lovely. Rooms are average in size but ALL rooms have lovely water views of the calm lagoon … very relaxing … staff so friendly … pool area is a little small compared to other hotels but very nice. Breakfasts are good especially hot food options. Would stay here again without hesitation.

I found the room I was staying in to be quite grubby. My room was on the road side and unfortunately right beside the local bus stop. The noise was loud until at least 2am. One night I had some of the staff knocking at my door which ended up being the wrong room. I was staying here for business and it was too noisy for me to sleep. You can hear other room doors being closed and people on the floors above. I found the food over priced here. One evening I had ordered the rice noodle chicken salad and the rice noodles were replaced with tagliatelle pasta. I wouldn't stay here for leisure.

I was recently a first time visitor to Novotel Lami. The day before my wedding I enquired about booking a room for the next day. The lady who served me on reception was very accomodating. She gave me a great rate and also allowed me to check in early to prepare for my wedding. The buffet breakfast was beautiful. Spectacular views of the bay. Room was modern & clean. I am a very happy customer who will return. Vinaka vaka levu for your wonderful service.

Duty Manager Pita was great and very friendly and he gave us another room but unfortunately no view. A much bigger room but only 1 single bed and 1 double. Had to request for extra bedding. He advised hotel was fully booked but managed to arrange couple of mattress to sleep on the floor. Room service was very slow in arranging bed, sheets and towels. The room was also smelly. The food was great but overpriced so had to look for an alternative on the second night. Room service available when we ordered food but took a long time before we got it to our room and no cutlery or serving plates provided so had to request. Location was nice but shuttle service to/from Hotel poor. Had pre-booked return service from Suva but only carries 4 pax. Had to catch a Taxi back to Lami for the remaining 3 of us. A lot of room for improvement required here overall.

The room we had was disappointing. For a 4 star hotel, it felt more like 2 star. Bathroom didn't have towels, room was dirty. Hotel needs some attention to maintenance.

My friend and I booked on 22/3/16 at Novotel in Lami Bay Room was clean but house keeping was not good we went out in the morning to a conference and got back in the evening and room wasn't clean no towels & milk in our room we had to go to front desk and they gave us beach towels until the morning. Food in the restaurant was not a good experience l ordered dinner a curry chicken was very dry Roti was a day old & rice was cold and it took 1hour before we got it so we went out everyday to eat. Novotel Hotel needs to train the chef and housekeeping will not be booking this hotel again so sad because the staff were very nice but service what let them down.

Stayed in a good sized room with a view on the bay and a backdoor with access to the a grassy stretch next to the bay. Breakfasts in the hotel were fine. Getting to the center of Suva requires a taxi, bus, or private car.

Worth the stay, breakfast @ novotel was just lovely.

The staff is so hospitable and the manager Simon goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the guests' accommodations are perfect. My stay was fantastic, like home away from home. Grate view. Great buffy bt pool was nt cleaned that morning the guy jst pour some staff in the pool but was he supose to clean it like I see in our hotel. The time I jump in. It was dirty. That anyone can see. And bed comferter somthing like feathers was in it nd poky cnt sleep. Nd buffy yea only one thing the ommlet are not suppose to be cooked on the flat griller. Horrible taste. Cooks r nt taught that. Seriously.

Not the standard at all that I expect from a Novotel. They made so many mistakes with my reservation, told friends that were visiting that there was no registered guest under my name and food was less than average — Food if not look like what it's meant to be, should at least taste remotely like it. This to only name a couple of things that went wrong. Please pick-up your game, the guest should leave at least feeling like they received $$'s worth.

Great water outlook good food esp the american chowder Minus the added chilli which is incorrect in Boston the originator of this dish.
