As in 2016, we had this time from 20.11. Booked a room at Tropical Princess Beach Resort & Spa until 07.12.2017.
A difference like day and night.
The room came down — bad. Rust on fittings balcony windows, mold in the flowing joints and in the air outlet opening of the air conditioning (which for this reason was not operated so that the germs could not be blown into the room), stains in the bed ceilings, warped or dispersed. Jammed cabinet doors (barely open – but was partially fixed), sliding windows that could not be opened (was also fixed on request), but did not have a door handle let alone were they to be closed, a totally gambled rusted and contaminated refrigerator, badly damaged ceiling cladding, leaking roof (it rained into the room), sockets that could not hold the adapter because they were completely emptied, broken balcony roof, wobbly toilet paper holder, holes in the curtain, Buffet hardly garnish (compared to 2016 – here every day with every meal was fantastically prepared and garnished), minimal selection of sausages — and cheeses … so anything but a 4-star hotel.
Due to the mold infestation alone, such a room here in Germany would not have been approved as a hotel accommodation.
We did not want to move to another hotel room because it became clear during several conversations with other holidaymakers that the ailing condition runs through the entire hotel complex.
Another holiday couple had already been provided with the fourth room and thought they had swapped plague with cholera.
We did not find a contact person on site, the information book of Go-Bucher had the last information from the beginning of November. Guid's other tour organizers logically did not feel responsible.
An application for reimbursement of travel expenses was rejected by Bucher Reisen GmbH – also refused to take part in an out-of-court arbitration procedure. So never again the Tropical Princess … and never again Bucher.
The only positive thing to be mentioned is the commitment and kindness of many employees – some of them could be properly closed to the heart. This hotel has earned a star just because of the friendly staff.
