The location of this hotel is superb. The beach is just at your feet. You are assisted by a team of professionals always displaying a helpful attitude. I adored spending few hours lying down in the beach hammocks, eating some snacks and drinking some exotic cocktails. Also, to top my experience, the sea had perfect size waves for me to play body surf with my children. I am glad and happy of being there during my march break.

It seems to me everything is excellent. Perhaps they should include more Caribbean dance music.

Myself and my partner stayed here last July for a week. The hotel was everything we could of wanted and more. The rooms were very luxurious, the resort was very well looked after and clean, the food was brilliant. We highly recommend the steak house we ate here 3 times in the week. Best steak ever! The hotel is seconds away from the beach. The staff serve drinks on the beach which was lovely. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had no issues with the concierge people in the hotel. Highly recommend the Saona island day out that was incredible. We thought the entertainment at night was okay but was nothing special. We had a welcome meeting when we arrived which was really helpful, advising of dangers and good day trips out. Highly recommend this hotel 10/10!

The facilities of this hotel are very nice, everything very clean. Now, on my arrival at this place we find ourselves with a terrible reality, a terrible customer service, all staff must be evaluated and better trained. It took 4 hours to deliver the rooms on the first day; we entered at about 8pm, among a thousand other things. Of all the people with whom I interact, only two of them did their job, Hansel and Katherin in the Lobby Bar, she is young person so full of life and well educated.
I always go to Punta Cana and visit Bahia Principe. I have gone at least 10 times, it is a beautiful and spectacular place, the staff is so well trained and they are so polite that it is worth going back to them all the time.

Les tomo 4 horas para entregar las habitaciones el primer día, entramos a más o menos a las 8pm entre mil otras cosas. De todas las personas con las que me toco interactuar solo dos hicieron su trabajo Hansel y Katherin en el Lobby Bar, que joven tan llena de vida y educada.

Did not stay here but at the sister resort Memories. We had family that was staying here at the same time as us for a wedding. The grounds are more upscale and it seemed larger but may have just been more open. We saw lots of activities happening (water aerobics and foam party) and the beach is great. Food is also decent. I'd possibly go back here if we were heading to DR again.

We stayed here last year and I'll say, our family had a wonderful time. The food is not awesome but it's an all inclusive, right?! The staff were fun and the Diamond Club swim out room was great for our family. The kids (and us) loved being able to swim any time of day. We stayed for 6 nights but realistically, our family would have been fine with 5 nights. The ice cream and coffee all day was wonderful.

My family and I had gone here to celebrate my birthday for a week last year in March, and it was absolutely incredible. The airplane ride was approximately 4 hours from Ontario to Punta Cana, and a 30 minute drive from the bus to the resort. First thing when you get off is a blast of hot air rushing at your face with breathtaking scenery and hot weather! When we had arrived, the view was amazing! There was a lobby that had a large balcony that faced the outside of the entire resort. Staff were friendly and welcoming! They offered us drinks when we had arrived. Food was great! A lot of restaurants and buffets to choose from. There was a buffet with large variety and good quality foods for different times, and a great Asian-themed restaurant that had a Hibachi chef cook us some fried rice! The beach was absolutely amazing! Blue water with soft sand, and pool parties were hosted. Pools were big, no complaint about that. The excursion was great! We went to La Hacienda, a safari type of excursion with buggy riding, free fall 16 meters, a zip line that allowed you to see the views of the mountain and forestry, and looking at the rural community in the outskirts. A great resort to have fun with family or friends! Would suggest going with family and a significant other. Expect lots of alcohol too.

All excellent. Attention and first class food. Super large rooms. Jose at reception super attentive and they have to try the lobster they offer…

Very nice place the staff is excellent. Great food choices. Be sure to book the swim up rooms they are awesome and you also have a 24-hour Butler.

Food good enough. No real complaints. The resort was nice and the service was absolutely top notch. The weird thing was that this resort didn't have much going on throughout the day. I was expecting more activities, but there didn't seem to be many activities at the main pool which is something I've grown accustomed to at these all inclusive resorts. The reason for only 3 stars is because the Casino wasn't open the entire time and although we were part of the diamond club we still weren't allowed in the "Hide away" section… which makes no sense at all.

Beautiful resort with great staff. The restaurants were very good and they really took care of us at score the sports bar and at the martini's bar. The beach was a 2 min walk from the room as it's attached to the resort and it was gorgeous!

It's a first class hotel!, very good place to enjoy the. Beach and activities all day. Definitely a perfect place.

The hotel is very nice, high quality, renovated and very large. The transport inside the hotel is with a train, it's great to get on it. It has a splash area for children, with slides and others. Highly recommended to visit with the family. The service very nice and the food very rich. Room service very fast, meets expectations.

There is Wi-Fi everywhere, it arrives to the beach! But yes, you have to ask for the keys.

Just a super hotel! The experience is amazing! Such a holiday was not in the same hotels and not in one country! The staff was very friendly and helpful. All in memories Splash!

Overall, not a bad experience. The property was beautiful. We received an upgrade to the Hideaway which was nice considering that we did not have any children. However, we did not experience any extra noise or inconvenience from the child-friendly areas of the resort. The Food: … was OK. You can't really expect much from buffets and the restaurants were average. I would have liked to have enjoyed more authentic foods from the region. Since I am not a fan of the Standard American Diet (they acronym spells SAD for a reason), I found most of the foods laden with salt and sugar, but I'm a bit of a food snob. The Staff: was friendly and accommodating. They even were patient with my Spanglish (most were bilingual). Eduardo from the excursion booking desk was AMAZING. The Spa: was small, but the massage was great. I was disappointed that there was no hot tub on the property, but I can understand why a Carribean resort may not want super hot water around (smile). I would definitely return for the convenience alone. I am sure I could find an excursion that would accommodate my desire for authentic Dominican / Haitian food. For the money, the trip was definitely worth it.

If you're down to pay $2000 to be sold timeshares for a week, this is your place! Food is medium, beaches are beautiful and it's a total racket. We went on the catamaran exersion, they picked us up at 7am then proceeded to drive us around for 2.5hours picking people from each hotel before we made it to the boat. Our baby got sick. The front desk said it was $150 to talk to the Dr. The doctor said it was $265 then told us to give her Tylenol every 15 minutes until she's quiet. Not even kidding. It is beautiful thou and the coffee shop is really nice the Royalton will be my last ever foray into the all-inclusive insanity.

First, I want to say that we went on vacation and had an amazing time. One day was spent pulled off of the beach and in a pretty hard — selling sales pitch for joining their travel club. We decided to do this to keep us on our once a year vacation plan, and now — a year and a half later — I simply cannot get a vacation booked. I have spent the entire morning trying: I called the resort 12 times and 10 of the times I was hung up on (maybe accidentally? ) but that is quite a lot, and the people who were so available and kind to us when we were buying the vacation club package for many thousands of dollars are simply unavailable to us now. They will "call us back later. " Several days have gone by and as we are traveling with other folks and are causing them delay, we are unsure how to proceed. There were several nice people who tried to help for a few minutes, but no one would actually help us book the trip. When we call the prescribed number, we wait for 30 minutes at a time with fun music playing but no one to help us. Online says we owe $700, which makes no sense because we have paid so many thousands of dollars and not been there sense. I begged to speak to a general manager to no avail.

The Royalton is far superior to his sister memories.

This hotel is amazing to go with kids. I went with my son who was 3 at the time… the water park is awesome! he had so much fun and it was so easy to relax in the sun while he has fun. The buffet at the Royalton has a kids section which was sooo helpful. The beach was wonderful, the drinks were great. I love that the beach is steps from the main pool. They are not stingy with towels at all. The 24h cafe is awesome as well. The a-la-cartes were very good, all of them! The only downsides were that the pool bar had bees around it a lot in the afternoons, and the food overall is very salty.

Best Hotel Ever. The staff cannot do enough for you. Food was Beautiful. I cannot find a single fault with the Royalton Hotel. My Swim Up Room was very Beautiful.

Absolutely loved this all inclusive resort. Everything was beautiful and well kept. I loved that they greet you on arrival with a frozen fruit drink. All services, from wait staff to room service were helpful. The Staff were very nice and went above and beyond in the services. The beach was beautiful, very clean, and had minimum venders. Great place to relax. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Only wish that there was a bit more of the country's culture.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous. If you get a chance to simply visit, you should take full advantage of it. The interior is decorated exquisitely from top to bottom. Its like staying at a wealthy uncles mega mansion. The exterior is breathtaking. It doesn't feel like a resort, it's really an experience. Lastly, the view of the ocean is mesmerizing. The hotel has a stone tile path that leads to this unforgettable feast for your eyes. Stay here if you can!

Roaches on the room + rats on the restaurant + poor management + employees asking you to tip them + leaks on top of the food being serves on the buffet — pictures are included in this review how do you stay at a “luxury hotel” and they only have 1 choice of beer? how they have no food available for kids in case they get hungry outside of the buffet schedule? we ask for rice and beans at 5:50pm and the answer was “the chef is not ready to serve food yet”. How is it possible that you visit the sport bar and LEAVE WITH THE FRIED FOOD SMELL ON YOUR CLOTH? There was NO AIR CONDITIONER in the bar which kept THE FLOORS WET due to the humidity. My son felt 5 times in less than 10 minutes. I notified the waitress and ask to speak to a supervisor and she ignore me. There were NO SIGNS to alert the guest of the wet floor. In the kid’s area, the employee was COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR WAGES AND ASKING FOR TIPS. THERE WAS A LEAK ON TOP OF THE PASTAS being served in the buffet area. How is it possible there are 2 chefs and no one is noticing the LACK OF HYGIENE where they are serving their buffet? We stayed in the 1st floor and AT 7AM THE EMPLOYEES ARE TALKING AND MAKING JOKES IN FRONT OF MY DOOR and running with their cleaning trolleys. Are you kidding me? LUXURY HOTEL? is this a joke? They left us dessert in our rooms as a gift since we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Even though we appreciate the gesture, we do not appreciate the roaches on the desk where you served them.

My wife and I stayed for a week at the Royalton during the end of October. We loved the room, the pools, the beach, the food and the grounds. The staff was amazing, very attentive and friendly. We had such a great stay that we are planning another vacation at the Royalton next year. Frank and Sharon Maryland USA.

Near the beach, super friendly staff and clean rooms and serviced up to twice daily. Nightly entertainment at the theatre is nicely done and gives you something to do in the evenings. All around a pleasant experience.

Landed on the island a day after Hurricane Maria and was originally scheduled for another resort that was closed when my party arrived. We were transferred to this resort and was happy to be here. Staff was great, food was great, beach was great, drinks were great and there were Peacocks just wondering around the grounds which really made the place feel like Paradise. We stayed here a few days before leaving to go to our original booking. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent… A good place to vacation with family…

It is nice the hotel, the rooms, the pools, the buffet Royalton Buenisimo, have treated us well, we had a hurricane here and were well attentive, we have not enjoyed so much damage but what little we have seen and what we have visited we like We are a group of 16 people and because this is my personal opinion and what the guys say!

Very good hotel I loved many Russians and good service all they have to do is a disco apart from the open bar after wonderful. I'll be back in November.

Overall almost the perfect vacation. Upon arrival they said our room was double booked. They put us in an upgraded room at Memories for one night and for our troubles we were upgraded to diamond club for the week. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beach, pools, dining, and rooms are are located close together. There are many activities to do during the day (volleyball, pool aerobics, dance lessons, Zumba, yoga, and others). In the evenings there is a different show each night and one night there was a beach dance party. I did tip at each meal, at the bar, the cleaning staff, and waiters at the beach. The staff was very appreciative of the tips and would go out of their way to help you and make your stay enjoyable. Be sure to make your reservations early for the sit down restaurants — they fill up quickly especially the steak house. Every meal was fabulous. The food at the buffets was average.

Had a very nice week stay here. The resort was well kept and had great beach access. A couple things I did not like; street vendors were allowed in one day and were extremely aggressive. I also did not care for the food selections in the restaurants. They did always offer good service, but I would much favor carribbean and seafood selections over the Americanized theme-style dining options (Greek Restaurant, Italian Restaurant, etc…).

A wondrous experience; friendly, relaxing and blissful facilities. My first time at all inclusive resort it and it lived up to every expectation. I was part of large party and staff are very accommodating with our group even in the most impromptu of circumstances. Smiles from staff all round no matter what time of day, I would love to visit again. The only minor critique, our air conditioning wasn't as cold as it could have been (having friends stay in other blocks, we definitely felt the difference between ours and theirs). Highly recommended resort!

A 5-star Hotel with exclusive treatment for its clients and excellent restaurants. It has memberships for its customers and saves you more than 30% on your stay. Its rooms are super comfortable and close to the pool and beach.

Summary: The modern Pirates of the Caribbean: Service 2/5, Food 3/5, Room 3/5, Pool and facilities 3/5 Stayed there for destination wedding so not our usual choice, but having been in DR before and Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize, my spouse and I have some experience with resorts. Arrived to find that the third adult in our room was not recorded on their records and despite the confirmation from our travel agent in writing about the booking for three, they wanted to charge us full rate for our daughter in the room. They did this same thing to another in our wedding party too! So beware. They prevailed because we had no choice and they knew it. Our travel agent we have used for years says this is just one reason they don't recommend this place, and if not for the wedding, they advised us in advance that this is not a good place. Then nobody came to make up the pullout couch despite going to the front desk again and asking the one guy who speaks English. Around 1am had to find a cart with clean sheets to do it myself. Also when the father of bride got the hair dressing bill, they had increased the charge per person $50 despite their own email detailing the cost per person. They would not honor their own email because they said they could not authenticate who sent it! Between the email and rooms we in our party called it the Royalton Switch where they quote one price and then charge you something different, and see if you are paying attention.

Horrible experience! Poor customer service, the water of all there pools were dirty to the point that me and my two girls came back with ear infection and taking antibiotics. The hotel will always run out of plates at the buffet, the hotel rooms were very small for a family of 4, the bathrooms were dirty and there was one day that the electricity went off causing the Hotel to go with no water and people not been able to take a shower. The water park was nice but they will close at 5pm and will not serve food at there location making the family go through the hassle of getting the kids out of the park to go get something to eat at the buffet. Overall the Hotel was a bad choice but thanks to the people I went on vacation with which by the way it was 34 of us and everybody feels the same as me, I had a great time.

Had a great time. The customer service is spectacular, the pool always clean, the avitaciones also, the activities of the nights were very beautiful, and super fun. Lots of variety in the food, something different every day. The pictures they take are beautiful. The animals, the water park is very rich. Everything super great. I give 4 stars for two reasons. The beach I did not like, many rides and full of clumps under the sea and 2 do not have elevators in the guest rooms. But that's nothing compared to how well you pass! I encantoooooo! Thanks for such a cute attention!

Had a wonderful experience here! Loved the buffet and the cafe, how do you turn down self serve soft serve at your every whim? You don't, really. The ocean was magical, gorgeous soft sand beaches, also the nearby memories water park was a lot of fun. Would visit again!

It is a hoter with good view ar bad I good service to the tourists I the employee, with a few dishes. Care in the buffet is beautiful I recommend it excellent also has aria of child I with a good service.

We stayed here for a friend’s destination wedding. Two days into the trip, our wallets were stolen from our safe. We realized this after we couldn’t access it with our code (we were locked out) and a security technician had to open it for us. When they did, we instantly saw that our wallets were gone. We tried to meet with the manager immediately but were blown off – absolutely no sense of urgency on the hotel’s part. With how nonchalant their management was about a guest’s safe being broken into, I can only assume this happens quite frequently. We finally met with the manager who had no idea the wallets were in the safe (she thought we got drunk and lost them). She had the security team start an “investigation”. They found our wallets the next day, and of course the cash was missing (and all credit cards already cancelled and worthless). I asked where they found them and they kept saying “a public place” on the resort but would never tell us specifically which “public place”. Interestingly enough, the night our wallets went missing, we were at a rehearsal dinner at a restaurant off-site and 40 minutes away. How could we have lost our wallets in a "public place" at the resort when we weren’t even ON the resort? The worst part of this was not even the money that we lost – it’s all of the time we wasted and how terrible we were treated. We were continually told we were required to “wait in our room for security”, and then they would never come.

We went to spend a weekend and the truth that the hotel is very good. Good food, good hospitality, the room very cosy great entertainment everything was excellent. I loved this hotel.

Beautiful location and facilities. Very well maintained. Employees are very friendly and go the extra mile to please you. The food is the only part that it's not up to par. Very hit and miss. The greek restaurant was the best. The rest are about average. Salvador and Lenny at the pool bar really make you feel welcomed.

I travelled last week to the Royalton resort with my 10 year old daughter. The Sunwing transport service was terrible as they made us wait over 1 hour in the bus at the airport before heading to our hotel. They also did not supply any water or anything to drink while we waited. When we arrived at the resort after an exhausting day of travel, we were told that our room would not be available until 3:00 (even though the resort was half empty! ). When we finally got to our room, it was FILTHY. There were hairs in the bathroom and on the beds and the bathroom was disgusting. When I showered, the entire bathroom became flooded and I had to get housekeeping to clean the flood and fix the leak (which took about an hour after making 7 calls — NO ONE spoke English! ). This resort was advertised as a family friendly resort although there was absolutely NOTHING during the day for my daughter to do besides swim. There were NO activities for her at all. Also, the resort was bombarded with vacationers from the Memories resort next door which allows them full access! The resort grounds were very nice. The beach beautiful. The pools became jacuzzis from noon onward and provided no relief whatsoever from the heat. The food in general was very good. On our shuttle back to the airport, the same thing happened and we sat waiting in the bus for an hour which was terrible.

What a holiday………The Royalton Punta Cana was excellent value for money. The all-inclusive package was what it said on the tin. The hotel and facilities were of a very high standard. The service and quality of the food were excellent. My fiancée and I had some reservations prior to going due to some of the negative responses on Trip Advisor, mainly from Americans and Canadians. How wrong I was. The staff in the hotel from the porters to the Bar and Restaurant staff were polite considerate and bent over backwards to meet our needs. There were a variety of places to eat, all serving a choice of food that had something to meet everyone’s taste. You could receive table service or buffet service if you preferred. We ate in a different restaurant most nights throughout the holiday and on a couple of occasions we had room service at no extra cost. All the restaurants were well ventilated and had Air Con. The ZEN restaurant was the only one you needed to reserve a place for. I would suggest you do the ZEN at least once throughout your stay. The Chefs were entertaining and food was of the highest quality cooked in front of you. Just make sure you are hungry before you go in……. I would recommend the Martini Bar for drinks the team Miguel, Angel, Gabriela, Otis and Johnathan were great entertainment as well as serving drinks from a well-stocked bar with good quality and branded spirit and cocktails.

This was an amazing all inclusive resort. The views were amazing and the location is on a beautiful beach. The employees were all amazing and really did their best to assure the guest were happy. Will definitely return often!

Absolutely amazing resort location on the beachfront. There are endless activities going on and enough amazing food to keep you content for your visit. The food, atmosphere, and staff are all top notch.

The best ever! Facility is excellent, even with children or young people. There will be no wishes remain open. Aqua slide Park from the neighboring hotel and all its facilities / Bars can also be used. Wi-Fi in the entire system for free! Towels for the beach, can be replaced as often as you want. However, each Person has only one. Food in the Buffet is so varied, that one must necessarily be in the themed restaurants. In this respect, perfect for families with children, especially in the evening, the stamina of the Kids is definitely not suitable.

Lovely beach and setting for a relaxing holiday. Only cons would be the volume of children when we went completely outside school holiday times and to get away from the kids the adult area is chargeable rather than just being available to adult only groups. The choice of restaurants is great and we didn't eat in the same place of an evening during our week long stay which was nice. Spoilt for choice in terms of bars for a pre dinner tipple too.

5 star/Best service from Elaine (front desk), Antonio (bellhop), and Rigoberto (waiter at Marche). These three are the reason we would return if we had to. However, the treatment received from the young ladies in the gift shop were deplorable. We were followed in the store EVERYTIME we entered, no matter who else was in the store. During the last occasion while we were attempting to shop for souvenirs, it became so annoying we put everything back and decided to buy souvenirs off the resort which ended up being cheaper anyway. When we returned to the resort, the ladies saw us out the glass window and glared at us. Needless to say we kept going and allowed them to be and look ignorant. They should be terminated for racially profiling (or at least that's how we felt). Thankfully we got to experience the genuineness of the other three and that saved our trip. We've stayed at the Royalton in Jamaica as well and felt the overall experience at that location was a lot better compared to Punta Cana.

Wow, what place! The facility is clean and Beautiful. Everyone is wonderful. Our butler Rodvel is the best, attending to our every need, fast and efficient. Ana checked us into the Diamond Club, fast and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for outstanding, effient, service!

This hotel, like many resorts, and the people in it are seriously NOT empowered to 'make it right'… can anyone suggest a place in the DR that empoweres their staff to do the right thing? How would you feel if you took your 5 years old and 18 month old and we're not able to get into your room for hours on end… Multiple times. How would you feel if YOU, the guest, had to go back and forth in sweltering heat with both children to exchange keys; not once or twice, but 6 times — No lie… 6 times!?! With only lip service saying sorry — disappointing… actions speak louder than words Royalton! My 18 month old passed out from heat exhaustion and they still did nothing. No one seemed to want to understand the trouble we were going through and acted like this is normal. I'm going to have to spend the whole week inside helping my 18 month old get better and probably miss my vacation. Lastly, I am part of a wedding party which I can no longer be a part of because of this resorts negligence. In order to 'make it right' they insulted us by offering to give us a fruit basket and champaign to our room for our troubles with again, nothing but lip service — really? They think this will make my daughter feel better? I am truly disappointed in this resort… It is my mission, because of what my 18 month old is currently going through, to bring as much awareness as possible to what happened while I am here taking care of her in my spare time.

Excellent hotel, all services very good, attention careful of their personal, in the gourmet marche we were treated efficiently and cordiality on the gorge serum, gudi encarnacion, rebekah, and bladimir, all of us showed in addition to his affection which made it very pleasant our stay of nine days.

EXCELLENT HOTEL, we were nine days with my wife, we are from argentina, parana entre rios, excellent attention at all, especially GOURME MARCHE lords GORGE SERUM, GUDI ENCARNACION, REBEKAH, and all the staff of the hotel. The beach is very nice and without any problem of algae as we saw in other sectors around, you always get lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach… very recomendadble,,, however a bit cumbersome the procedure to obtain the service of WI FI.

Definitely worth every cent! Besides this place being paradise the staff was extremely friendly and attentive!

What a great hotel with a friendly staff, good food and drinks. Just got back yestrerday and have no regrets. Had my wedding there and INDIRA was a great wedding coordinator and did everything and anything that would make our wedding go as smooth as possible. The DIAMOND CLUB is a super plus with swim out rooms meaning your pool does not close ever. Premium drinks, ahhh let me not forget our GREAT butler JOSELIN, he was the best if we needed anything he was there and he made things so much easier. P. S. Me and wife had a great wedding with great family and friends that are our family.

It was fun! I did have my two small children with me, so it was stressful. They had great food and great service. Everyone seemed super friendly and willing to help out. They photo and excursion people are pushy and asked at horrible times of the day. I would recommend it if you don't have kids with you.

Great resort with nice food and service. The water park is a big plus if you have kids. Go for the diamond club if you can afford it. Swim up rooms are great. When offered VIP breakfast, just realize that you'll be asked to join their TravelSmart VIP club.

Wooo the best hotel in the area. Excellent service, very rich and varied food staff is amazing, well-trained Waterpark boys, much organization, in a nutshell can be summed up with the words comfort and Glamour. I want to go back.

Took a tour of the hotel this past week, Walking down the beach I was asked to take a 60 minute tour of the hotel by a man named Juan. Juan told me that if I take the tour they will give me either a 5 night stay for free minus the food and drinks. The special was only good for 9 month's, I told Juan that I would not be back by the 9 month deadline. They he mentioned that they also have a bag of rum and coffee and other goodies. I selected the bag and took the tour with Francisco the tour guide, at the end of the tour I did not want to be involved in a time share. Francisco got very angry and tried to sell me the package but I mentioned to him that I was not interested. He walked me off the property and gave me a tee shirt for my 60 minute tour, I told him that I was supposed to get the bag package but he told me that he changed the gifts. So DON"T Repeat DON"T get suckered in and taking a tour of the property. I wonder if the if the owners in Toronto of the property know how people are being lied to and treated like shit. I will tell all my friends my age that are looking for a retirement property to stay away from the Royalton properties. Stay away.
