The greatest place I've ever stayed in. 5 stars hotel with 24 hours room service, thematic restaurants, great service! Unique sandy beach and I loved to lay on my sunbed under the palms. Choose the royal selection, it is worth! Also the pools and the bars around… Absolutely fantastic! Would definitely visit again if possible.

Absolutely gorgeous resort! We stayed at the Adults only side of the resort to have peace and quiet, but when we wanted to party, we went to the family side of the resort. The staff is very friendly. Everyone speaks English if you don't speak Spanish. Most of the staff speak more than two languages. The US dollar is accepted. We didn't need the DOP (Dominican pesos). I will definitely be returning to this resort. If you can, get a room with the private pool.

The property was well kept and food was delicious! There was never a wait for the Steak house. The staff was very friendly. Best customer service! What ruined my trip was they stop you at the front desk about meeting someone for breakfast and it turns out to be something about a time share. We couldn't get our keys until we talked to someone who was tying to convince us to meet the next day. Once we said yes to get our keys he let us go. We were already stopped at the airport with the same situation so by the time we arrived at the resort we were not looking to be hassled again. When people go on vacation it's just that a VACATION to get away and relax. That was a deal breaker for us and we will never visit this resort again.

Excellent staff and great food. Rooms are spacious and have a sunken bath and separate shower room. The all inclusive drinks are all top names, not cheap alternatives. There is plenty of activities to stop you getting bored and with 2 great pools, one with swim up bar, and a private beach, there is plenty of ways to keep cool.

The hotel got better! Big territory! In the evenings, live music. The restaurant has great food.

Took a solo 1-week vacation here as it was all inclusive and adults only. I was so excited, however the experience fell short. The staff was uninterested in serving you and almost rude at times. I’m used to great service at resorts and it just wasn’t the case. The beach is nice and quiet, not filled with vendors. Ok food at the adults only resort, but you can honestly get better food and variety and the family friendly sister resort next door (also included in your stay). Shows were fun to watch and the weather remained perfect.

Beautiful infrastructure. Some comfortable rooms with bathrooms with glass doors. The room service was very bad. They didn't make you the room always and you had to call to ask for it. You were left with few personal hygiene products. I called several times to complain and you laughed. The person in the restaurants is rude. He mocks. He makes funny jokes. I'm leaving the hotel today and they stole 100, 000. I wanted to do the protocol but it took like 48 and the silver was not going to see so I just say the typical phrase "to use it for remedies" I do not recommend. I wouldn't go back. At least not to this. We also live a situation of gender violence and the woman who was all bloody wanted to call the police and did not leave because by protocol that made him safe and brought back with the husband who had given his head against the pool. Of TERROR! Not if it was because we went in a group of friends or that but in my vids happened to me what happened to me. I repeat for my experience, I do not recommend it. There are better and cheaper. All employees are fret-faced unless you show dollars.

I don't like the truth. I spreaded from a bacterial infection by poorly washed vegetables (I ruined half the vacation). The food bathed in fat. The tip seems mandatory after the third day to be treated well. Otherwise they make you wait for food as an hour to tell you that Cerro La Cocina a Decortez staff deal. I had trouble asking for boiled rice or boiled potatoes for not being on the menu being that is the only thing I could eat given the infection that I spread in the hotel. We witnessed as a girl beaten and blood asked for help because the groom hit her and wanted to take her to the room by protocol to "hear the two parts" crazy. They never called medical assistance or the police the girl asked not to take her to the room. He had injuries clearly caused by someone else. We complain and told that we are calm that they were going to solve "according to his Protoloco". The beach of the hotel horrible muddy water and full of algae. A disappointment for the one who comes in search of Caribbean beaches. The facilities were very nice. Drinks that do not have premium drink horrible tang juice with trout drink (ethyl alcohol) and 5 kg Açucar a ascoooooo.

10 days in this hotel the rooms are nice and well maintained the environment is quiet, the beach small but has several comfortable beach bed and several palavas this portion of hotel being reserved for adults we benefit from A la carte restaurants in the evening and in the afternoon various more elaborate lunches we can also eat at the Catalonia Bavaro but it is more the factory a lot of family and young children except for the Italian restaurant which offers a nice map.

The Restaurant Le Ranch also offers excellent Angus meat meals in the room possible 2 beautiful swimming pool at guests disposal gym and whirlpool, therapeutic and relaxing massage in the spa centre and at the beach we recommend this hotel For its exclusivities, its tranquility, its cleanliness.

It is beautiful hotel, they make you feel good since you arrive until you leave! I was lucky enough to spend my birthday here, and I have prepared surprises that day. With respect to the room they are very spacious and comfortable. It has 2 pools where everything is clean. Departure to the beach with all the services included. Spend a holiday 10 points thanks to them.

Beautiful Resort! The staff is so awesome here, this is our second stay and most of the staff remembered us after a year which is very impressive knowing how many people they see per day. I highly recommend booking the Villa as having our own pool for a week is where it's at! 2 bathrooms is very nice as well lol… See you next year Catalonia Royal!

We were in the adults only section — recommended! Everything you need is in the resort for a simply relaxing holiday. Really good selection of different style of restaurants. Only left the resort once to swim with dolphins. Room with personality, but only actually used the hot tub once… Great memories.

Great hotel for honeymooners, athletes, and just people watching for health and nutrition! Premium service at the price of good service:) I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely brilliant hotel! The Food is madness! There is no buffet but always a la carte! It is a super nice beach and room!

A very quiet and beautiful place. Perfect for a holiday or honeymoon. One of my favorite places.

This Resort is very run down. Our Privilege junior suite room stunk like mildew. We changed rooms the next day. Really no better in the next suite. I ordered a tuna salad and it was canned tuna on iceberg lettuce With canned pickled asparagus. Extremely disappointing. Hamburgers and hotdogs with 3-4 pickled salads At the cook out on the beach, served with French fries. This is no joke. They cooked off jerk chicken but didn’t have enough to feed the crowd. Our alcohol was watered down, unless you wanted to tip $5 each drink to your bartender. All blended drinks are make with sugar syrups, no fresh fruit. Only at the fresh juice bar on the beach. No alcohol there. Figures. Very misleading. Pools were clean. Pizza at the swim was good. Buffet breakfast had a good selection for breakfast choices. Beach had glass and a lot of garbage on it. You had to keep your eyes on the sand. The sushi at the beach bar was Atlanta salmon lox wrapped in rice. No fresh local fish or crab. No fresh fish on the menu from the local ocean. All previously frozen and cooked in a pan. No large shrimp with your surf & turf only baby shrimp. I would never go back to this resort. You must really speak Spanish.

We have been successful in booking this hotel in September. All the people who work there give an excellent service, the hotel restaurants are of great quality and the facilities great. I emphasize the service of Joseph, the animator, great person!

Incredible resort! Such friendly staff (here's a shout-out to each of them! ), and so many activities and programs to keep everyone entertained. The food was delicious; never ran out of choices on where to eat or food options at each restaurant. Same with the drinks. A lot of options (alcoholic, fruit smoothies, etc), and great servers/bartenders everywhere! Definitely enjoyed staying on the Royal (adults only) side, as it gave us the freedom to experience the exciting atmosphere on the family-friendly side, but go back to a more relaxing kid-free zone whenever we wanted. My ONLY complaint would be that it was very windy down by the beach during our entire stay, so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the beach as much, or any beach activities, such as using the kayaks, going snorkeling. Or going out on a catamaran, etc. Strongly recommend this resort to anyone! Families with kids (toddlers and teens alike), families with young adults/older children, or even couples (great for anniversaries, honeymoons, etc). Might be good for singles too, but didn't really check out the Pearl Beach Club.

I’m leaving this resort after a short stay. Some staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, however the bad greatly outweighed the good. Two nights in a row someone tried to break into our room — after calling security BOTH TIMES all we got was a game of twenty questions. They never sent anyone, and I had to scare off the intruders on my own. It was really creepy. Keep your doors locked and valuables close. On top of that sketchy mess, I got ridiculous food poisoning from one of the restaurants. The pools and other guests are nice, but honestly there are much better resorts for your money.

Beautiful resort with immaculately maintained grounds and amenities. All the staff was friendly and anxious to please. We chose the all-inclusive (food, drinks, gratuity) "Bravo" adult side of resort. The family side is larger and just as beautiful. Adults have access to both sides, pools, restaurants, bars etc. We found the majority of food and drinks to be much better than expected based on some comments read before choosing. Our suite was large and comfortable, but could have used a little TLC/renovation. A few items we noted upon arrival were promptly addressed. The beaches are natural (yes, seaweed does wash ashore) and public (you may get approached by local vendors, but they were not persistent if you said, you were not interested). This was our first all-inclusive resort and weighing cost to value, it more than meet our expectations. My wife and I are from the northern suburbs of Chicago and during our stay we met several interesting people from around the globe. Overall, we very much enjoyed our relaxing 7 day mini-vacay. I would definitely recommend.

I'm from Chicago, this was a great resort. Food was 4/5 but other then that, this is probably the best resort on the island. Drinks our great, the staff is helpful and speak good English. You can eat whenever you want, I think 12 restaurant, and nightlife is great on the resort. Thank you again Royal Bavaro well done!

Very good this hotel. Super recommended, top quality food, spacious rooms. I would miss a little more daily entertainment but the night shows are amazing. Very friendly staff. The only cons is there's seaweed on the beach.

It's great. But there is one drawback — growing a lot of grass at the bottom. Where it is not — a little, just above the belt. By the way, it is better not to go there with the Bible Globe, or they can forget about you, or disappear in an extreme situation. When there was a hurricane last year, they just dropped out of 70 customers and had to deal with their own problems with hotels because the flight was postponed for a day.

Excellent adult-only resort. Cosy ideal to completely disconnect. Highly recommended, staff and address a 10. Facilities with a special charm.

+ Very good food selection at main cafeteria, 5 restaurants to choose from, convenient beach and poolside snack stands. Beach was well shaded, while still allowing sun time. — Bar-tenders seemed to favor certain guests over others, and customer service was extremely lacking. We were in a 3rd floor suite room, got ants and cockroaches in our room. When our belongings and souvenirs were ruined (due to bugs and fumigation), Catalonia customer service made no effort to correct the action or to replace the items and wasted our time. Had to basically argue with them to get the room “fumigated” which was basically Lysol. Room service food was terrible. Pool bar was packed – almost inaccessible unless you got a seat early.

Fantastic service. Clean and well maintained enjoyed 2 weeks here in Dec 2017. The food and restaurants are not your typical all inclusive style, with all boasting a individual restaurant feel of a good 4 to 5 star restaurant. The staff and food at the sea blue restaurant on the beach is fantastic catering for all tastes from meats to fish. I cannot say a bad word about this hotel.

The vacation was amazing from beginning to end. Very clean and beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. The food was excellent everywhere we ate, and the staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Would highly recommend coming here.

Nice hotel, the service would not be so catastrophic. Extremely long waiting times in the restaurants. Some are only served after 30 minutes. The staff is extremely lazy and cheeky.
Despite tipping, the staff cannot be motivated.
I am not sure why the management does not do anything about it. Sad that nothing has changed here for years.

Absolutely charming hotel with attentive and courteous staff. Very good food.

It is a nice resort, the rooms are nice. They have a lot of fun activities to do if your willing to spend more money. They have a lot of different food options but they aren't great. The staff can be very rude, and you will be waiting a long time for your food. If you do decide to go here… There will be a man in the lobby who will offer you a VIP breakfast and want to take you in a golf cart, tell him no thank you that you are not interested. They will pitch you a member ship which coast money each month. I got me and my wife out of there within 30 minutes realizing it's a scam. But I talked to 6 other couples that said they were stuck talking within 3 hours.

Very nice hotel. Good territory. Good restaurants. It's a nice beach. Good pools and spa. From the cons on the beach very often nails seaweed.

Despite the existing works in part of it have done everything possible to have a nice and pleasant stay. We were moved from room twice until we got to the villas with independent pool farther to the works.

If the bedrooms were refurbished I would review this hotel with 5 stars. The best of it is the entertainment schedule and staff. You can't get bored in this hotel and staff is friendly and always happy. I talked with other guests who had been in other hotels like Barcelo o Bahia Principe, and they said the entertainment in this hotel is far better than the other ones.

I went to this resort to celebrate my honeymoon and both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves the entire time we were there. The resort itself is beautiful in the day and nighttime and there are quite a few things to see and do. The staff are friendly and helpful and do their best to help you get a solution for any of your concerns. The rooms were spacious, there were hammocks on every balcony, the view was nice and neither my wife or I ever felt bored. Furthermore, this resort is split into two: there is also a family side (which is on the other side of the resort) and if you are on the Royal side, you get access to both. The buffets and most of the a la carte restaurants were on the family side as well as the entertainment (for the most part), however, there are some exclusive restaurants and privileges you get by staying on the Royal side. The family side can get really busy as there were sometimes lineups for the buffet. When one is a privileged customer (as we were because of our honeymoon package) we never had to wait in line and we even get exclusive seating in dining areas. Honestly, I would STRONGLY recommend this resort if you are looking for a nice, relaxing getaway with your significant other, or if you are celebrating a special time (i. E. Honeymoon, anniversary etc. ) The only thing that was kind of unfortunate was the beach.

My family and I arrived on Thursday August 3rd, the hotel said they would up grade us for free. We get to the Villa 36 rooms 3645 and 3604, we dropped our stuff off and went to the pool this was around 330pm we come back around 6 to change for dinner and it's hot and muggy in the rooms. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone to check it out. I called three more times that night and the front desk gave me the run around. All they said they were trying to fix it the whole Villa is down… that night I had to sleep with the room door open just to get a breeze. I go to the front desk the next day and complain about the air conditioning. They tell me the same thing they are working on it… I told them I wanted to be moved but they told me they have no more rooms available. They told me to come back after 1 to see if there are rooms opening up. But I told them I am going on an excursion I won't be back until 5 or 6. They said that's fine… I come back and surprise surprise what does the front desk tell me it's too late to move you and no available rooms… No one wanted to give me a straight answer… I asked to speak with a supervisor or a manager they said he left for the day… really at 630pm on a Friday night… one thing I know about hotels on the weekend there is a manager on duty the whole weekend. That whole night again I had to sleep in a hot, muggy, and damp room with the door open. Finally on our last full day we moved at 4pm.

My husband and I went for 7 days. Leaving New York heading to Dominican Republic we were expecting Paradise at this resort, and that's what we got. It was beautiful. The food was great, the staff was at our fingertips and the property was well kept and clean. We will go visit again.

Helpful staff but moldy rooms. Food quality and taste is just ok — moderately good. Very pushy sales staff throughout the hotel. Chipped tableware common. Mold is a big problem in rooms. Rooms have very few outlets to charge anything. We experienced significant mold issues and chipped tableware throughout our stay. The hotel is dated and maintenance is shoddy. Ideal place for relaxing, partying and dating.

I give this resort a 3 because with the exception of the pizza restaurant the food was terrible. Also, they allow smoking at this property. So if you're sensitive to smoke like I am you'll be very disappointed. I had to move spots at the pool, beach and dinner because of the constant smoke. If you plan to get a spa service make sure they won't be having a dance party by the pool or you'll be unable to relax. I scheduled a 80 minute at 6pm and didn't even think about the noise. In the treatment rooms the lower half of the wall is a screen so there's no sound barrier. When we booked this trip we upgraded and did privileged status. That was to come with private check in and check out services. I ended up checking out at the desk because nobody was there to help me. They also said the mini bar would be stocked. I don't count 2 cans of beer "A full mini bar. " There were a couple great things with this property. We had 4 excellent servers. They went above and beyond to try and make things right. For example I wanted the whites of my eggs cooked all the way. But in the Dominican half cooked must be how the eat them. I asked multiple times to have them cooked longer but they weren't understanding. This one server was able to understand me so each morning he made sure to communicate to the cook exactly what I was looking for. And they were constantly cleaning and wiping counters and tables down. They were even wiping up the sweat from my cup that got on the counter.

It was very pleasant. The 24-day stay (from July 26th to August 19th) at Catalonia Royal Bavaro. He never had any moments of boredom, everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great food, spacious and clean rooms and very important thing there was never a rush and it was vivibilissimo I can only recommend it.

It was great, very good loews… everything was perfect.
