It was very nice and good food, I was informed that they changed the name to the hotel, someone knows what it is?

Excellent customer service … the food is very good, although being a small hotel there is not as much variety in dishes as in other larger hotels. Some minor details of simple repairs in the rooms.

I still not gone but I want to go and do not take the calls to give me information on that, so please pay attention to the calls. Thank you.

Very nice hotel. Diving Club, beach, bar, etc. The weekend is the feast with the Dominicans who invest the places.

Very nice beach. I liked that there were a number of local folk who were enjoying the beach as well as tourist. Great sandy beach, with ample sitting areas (as long as you are eating or drinking from a nearby establishment). Water wasn't too rough the day that I was there.

It's a ok hotel, room was ok and the food was regular at most they only had buffet restaurant, and in my opinion they treated us different than Tourists, we left early on Sunday due to that. I Don't think I'm going to go back to this place.

I loved the hotel… Very comprehensive, excellent service, good food, what I would like that the Club was shut down, but then everything.

Without a doubt an excellent place for rest, nice beach, staff very pleasant and helpful. The only downside is when the day arrives leave empowerment must not block the key to ten o'clock in the morning is supposed that you one pays until the one and while you're going to have breakfast when you return you can not enter by that they have blocked you the key, absurd but room for improvement no doubt.

All average, devoted more to Dominicans who come to the weekend more than tourists.
The beach is very nice, treed and save because the sea is fantastic.
Armed guards everywhere, indicating the high crime of Santo Domingo.
Very good Dominican restaurant, situated away from the beach.
Few people, because they all go to the sea and you eat Dominican cuisine and not international.
Third actual beachfront restaurant that turns into a disco at night; a little Dim, depends on perhaps the season.
The evening entertainment is repeated in weekly cycles.
I was expecting a little salsa or bachata, with dancers.

Capella love and wanted to go after Easter.

I went for 10 days with my family. However my father is in a wheelchair and we had booked a handicap room. When we got to the room, it was the furthest thing from it. The room was old, falling a part and a below average sized room. The wheel chair couldn't even fit into the bathroom. So we called front desk, and they managed to find a new room. When we arrived at this new room, it was beautiful. Everything about it was great. We had a huge window, almost floor to ceiling. The walls were 12ish feet high. The bathroom was the size of the last room. The only issue was the view. We were facing a wall. So if you go to this hotel, I highly recommend that you forget about the view, and get something not so close to the beach. We found those were the best rooms. the food wasn't anything special. It wasn't bad though! They have 2 special restaurants, a French and Dominican. My family and I preferred just going to the buffet though. The choices were slim, and the food wasn't the best. Activities wise, you'll never be bored. We always were doing something that we wanted. Whether it was laying near the pool and drinking margaritas, or going for a walk outside of the resort. If you have children, they will love the scuba diving. They have their own little shack for it. The tutors are amazing! and there's a little test at the end so you can become certified. The other reviews were saying the staff was garbage. But what they seem to forget is they weren't raised the same as the staff.

For my went very well and the bathroom very hatento customer the lok very rich food if they must mejoral is the drink but after all good.

A service of first my wife and I it spent very well have of all and a salar bar buenisimo in trenimietoy the beach Crystal and sand blaca and fine it rather than to my in it personal I liked was the bar within the pool poreso you give this clificasion.

The rooms were crappy, there is no hot water, I've had better food at a Chinese restaurant, and if you have children be prepared to be hassled on which pool they can and cannot use. The more you tip, the quicker their charm turns on, but if you don't tip then they are sour, rude and annoyed. Good luck.

The Hotel staff is not exactly friendly and very slow. The rooms are old, dirty and falling apart. The bathroom in my room was discusting, and the food is not very good, specially the breakfast. You have to pay 10$ for internet extra per day.

It is curious that some people have a horrible experience and others as pleasant. I do not I have been here but my experiences with the resort in Puerto Plata are normally the negative comments which come more to the truth of the place. It is regrettable that Dominicans complain that there is no tourism and then one reads the conditions of hotels and quality of service and food and one wonders, these people will be so ignorant? Do they not read the comments on these pages? Do not try to contact guests after that will be to see how it fared?

The food is bad, very varied and that makes you feel limited. The garden is very nice, but the beach looks somewhat desert and is uncomfortable that people selling you varieties every 5 minutes walk.
The rooms are regulate the stay although the bathroom is small, but it is passable.
The drinks are also limited. The Disco is a balcony with no disco or D.
I really liked the foosball near the House of towels on the beach…
For the price is OK and depends on with whom you go clear…

I went to Barceló Capella Beach Resort 2 weeks ago and stayed for one week, it was amazing! The staff are soooooooooooo nice, the room and the entire resort was very well looked after and clean. The food was great, and I was very happy with my entire stay. I had so much fun every day and night. There were nightly shows performed and they were very entertaining. I will definitely go back! :)

I went there for President's day weekend about 3 years ago with my girlfriend. Now, this was my first resort EVER, so needless to say I was stoked. I am Dominican and my mother in the Capital (Santo Domingo) already, so I was ready to host her for Dominican Mother's Day as well. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front desk staff. They weren't really too friendly. Maybe it was because it was in the evening or something. So, we got settled in and planned our time out. We decided to catch the show the resort does daily. The show was pretty cool. What was odd was that even though this was an all-inclusive resort and we could order whatever we wanted to drink, the service was slower. After checking out the scene, I saw that the folks that tipped the best got their drinks quicker. I tip, but don't feel the need to pay $3-5 dollars for drinks that are SUPPOSED to be included in my deal! I noticed this trend throughout the stay there. The waitstaff were the same, even just to fill up a glass of water. I felt as if everyone who worked there expected money in exchange to any info they imparted. The worst thing that happened was at the end when we checked out. I let my girlfriend do all the paperwork as I handled the cab that was coming to pick us up. On our way to the airport, I found out that my they charged us $100 for phone calls from our room! I know we didn't even use the phone, but she paid it anyway. Needless to say, I was incensed. That was ridiculous and unfair.
