Great hotel. Love to stay here.

The best location! Here you live in the heart of the busy city center — and feel like home. The staff are friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and great lounge possibility.

Check in was a bit delayed due to a mix up, but the hotel staff quickly fixed it and gave us free lounge access, which wasn't necessary, but I am glad that they did since we really enjoyed the lounge. Room was small by American standards, but was quite average for what you would expect in Europe. Room was clean. I have read some of the complaints on here regarding noise… Anytime you stay at a hotel in a major city area you're going to hear some noise, but it wasn't that bad. Location is perfect and close to many local attractions and great restaurants. Overall I recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

OK place situated in the heart of the city. It suffer from being under staff. This is the cause of the problems with hotel, late house keeping services, messy tables during breakfast. Breakfast quality and variety is just fine. They overcharged my credit card by doubling the VAT. An on going saga to solve this. Edit: problem solve!. Was given the wrong invoice. Two phone calls and and email.

Good hotel, good location. Quick and friendly check in and out. I had a very quiet room at the expense of a view — the rooms that face the parking lot are quite. Personally, I prefer a quite room over a view any day.

The Square is a perfectly situated hotel, right in the center of town. Position could not be much better. Nearby are lots of restaurants, bars, souvenir stores, museums with magnificent parks and wide open squares. Hotel itself is really pleasant. Only issue we had was no air-conditioning in the room.

The air conditioning does not work throughout the hotel. The temperature in the room is about 35 degrees. It is impossible to open the windows because the industrial conjitsier of the restaurant works in the yard and because of the noise it is impossible not only to sleep but also to talk, to the noise is supplemented by a stink. Noyer a tiny suitcase can be placed only in front of the entrance door fortifieve. No one cares about the fire. He has never been in more scottish conditions for his money. Even in the barracks on the company of soldiers Yuylo is much more comfort.

The hotel has an Excellent location in front of the city hall and is walking distance to the main attractions of the city. Rooms are not so large but you have all the space you need. The hotel is well maintained. The staff is friendly. Reasonable price.

The central location was perfect. The Reception staffreally friendly and helpful (Christian). Our room was clean, airy and quiet which was perfect. The breakfast was really tasty and a good variety — fruit, veg, cereal etc. Really enjoyed our stay and a good price for a capitol city hotel.

Lovely hotel in a very Central location and near to Tivoli gardens. A lot of construction work going on around the hotel but the sound proofing of the hotel was sufficient. The lounge on Floor 6 with free snacks and drinks between 2pm-10pm is a lovely addition.

The hotel is very well located, next to the town Hall Square. From there you find nearby streets with shops and you can walk to the most important places of the city. Although it is in a main artery, it is very quiet and you don't hear any noise. The rooms are spacious and with lots of light, even those that overlook the inner part. Breakfast, buffet-style, is fine, with a generous breakfast. The people are very friendly and polite.

Bad mattress. Bad soundproofing. The staff is competent. Ideal location all the same.

The room is small but sufficient. The staff has been very helpful — helping us find a babysitter, for example. There are bikes available for rent and even 1 family bike (the kind with the big bucket in front)

It was wonderful the time I stayed at this hotel. I have nothing to complain about, since after my arrival I was very well attended by all the staff! Loved my room, room service, breakfast and many other things! Certainly every time I return to Copenhagen I will be staying at this magnificent hotel. Highly recommend for everyone.

Great location to visit the whole city. Rooms not very large but comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful Well stocked breakfast buffet. In the context price appropriate to the service and to the city.

As far as the location and the deal is good, the room is OK but we have been 3 days, and 3 days we have only cleaned the room 1 day.
We come to the 14 ' 30 to rest, and we leave the room early in the morning. One day it can happen, but 2?
They leave you a bag of towels, soaps and paper. They leave it to us while we rest, that coincides when its day ends.

It's very cozy it has a pretty flashy design, I think it has a special charm. The rooms are excellent. And the employees are very friendly. In general, in Copenhagen (Denmark), good education is prevalent. Very happy. I recommend it. I have also put photos of the technological museum… they are not from the hotel. I'm sorry I snuck in.

A terrific place to stay in Copenhagen. The staff are all genuine and accommodating, nothing seems too much trouble. The hotel itself is super-clean and the modern design does much to sooth the mind after a busy day in the city. Comfortable and welcoming; highly recommend.

Nice enough hotel but beds and pillows are very soft. Too soft for my liking and then I don't sleep well.

One of the best hotel experience I have ever had. We went to Copenhagen for our wedding and I was a bit sceptical about the hotel as it had various reviews. However, the level of service we received exceeded our expectations. The front desk, in particular, Hanne was very accommodating and helpful. We got a complimentary champagne on the day of the wedding and in general the service was great. The breakfast was very good and the hotel location is amazing.

Good location, looks good from the inside, good breakfast buffet (delicious bread and croissants, good coffee, Gingershots! ) but for just under 25, — EUR/PP expensive! We had a room to the courtyard — well soundproofed, no noise disturbance, although I can be sensitive here. Refrigerator did not go, Toillettenspülung worked poorly, lamp with annoying wiggle contact — had to play around for a few minutes until it finally shone. Asked for an iron — the corresponding table I had to repair before it was to be used — impossible that the JMD had previously been using in this Constitution.
Room had heating and air conditioning, heating we set up completely — air conditioning was not necessary in January. The ventilation system of the room and presumably the entire hotel promoted an incredibly dry air. From the second night I hung wet towels in the room to relieve the intolerable drying of the mucous membranes.
Had been made aware of shortcomings. My impression: Everything looks good, but weaken in detail. Staff very friendly, predominantly very young. Suspect young employees with low pay press costs, do their best, but lack experience.

There on business. The rooms were small the hotel street was under construction. There were only 5 parking spots for the hotel and it was a nightmare to try and get in and out. The view on the backside was nothing but cement and HVAC equipment. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is for cleanliness and the staff was very nice. I would not recommend this for a business traveler. The picture was a view from my room.

We did 3 days in the immaculate deck, I have to say it is a nice hotel kept well and very clean. It is centrally located as it is 2 steps from the Stroget, the main pedestrian shopping street and the premises, and the metro station is about 1 km, not so much. Excellent breakfast, quality raw materials, rooms in standard small but comfortable and prices aligned to the standard of Copenhagen. For those who have children even better, because attached to the hotel there is the famous TIVOLI playground, open all day until late. Also the station is very close and there are also several attractions within walking distance, definitely recommended.

Excellent 4 * hotel, located in the main square where there is the town hall. We had a very good breakfast and the staff were very helpful.

Perfect location, good reception. Lighting a bit poor, cleanliness leaves to be desired, the room has a bad layout so a family looks a little limited when it comes to accessing with a baby carriage.

We chose this hotel for 3 nights in 4 people. As soon as we arrive they greet us saying that the room we booked does not have a bathroom. (Note that they call themselves 4-star hotels) A different room is being re-proposed. Let's get the keys and go up to the room. Here's the surprise, a room for two gones for a room of 4. We open the additional "bed" and notice already that the sheets are dirty… The waitress arrives in the room, asks us what are the sheets, skeptic replaces them and as if not enough he greets us with a joke like "Do you want to check these too? " in a very arrogant way… You only save the breakfast buffet. The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean. In the vicinity there are other better hotels in every point of view.

Great hotel for weekday work stay overs. The rooms with street view on upper level is recommended. Executive room gives you lounge access. Good breakfast too (ginger shots)

I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel in late December. We had booked for 4 people and they arranged us in a double microscopic with sofa bed (uncomfortable). Result: There was no room to breathe. Poorly organized and tiny room, terrible beds and pillows, really rude staff and not great cleanliness. Only positives are: central location in town and great breakfast buffet. Not worth the price and the 4 stars. I would not return.

Nice hotel right on the town hall and direct access to the shopping area in the Copenhagen city centre. The hotel seems to have been behind for a few years, but still tries to keep it modern. The reception is at the same time a not so great equipped bar. The breakfast room on the 6th floor is converted into a lounge in the evening. This one can be visited from 2 pm with a superior room or better. Here are all drinks/snacks included — great thing! At the end of the Frühstuckszeit it should be very crowded according to a hanger in the elevator — but we never had problems finding a place.

Great location, nice clean rooms, good breakfast, cozy lounge, and nice staff.

Toilet did not work, no compensation. From the start the toilet did not flush properly. They tried to fix it without luck. Then other personell had to come up and see for themselves. After arguing for quite some time we were allowed to pack up our things and change rooms. Before changing room we were offered to use the restaurant toilet and get free minibar. This was not of interest of course. When checking out and after emailing about compansation or comments, no compensation could be offered. Really bad customer service.

Good business and day hotel for city exploration.

Modern, updated, and trendy interior. Room was nice and comfortable. Even had a small bathtub in the room which you don't often see in European hotels. Staff was nice.

The most interesting feature of the hotel is the central location that allows you to easily reach all the attractions of the city. Friendly and helpful staff.

Wet nice hotel. Good buffet for breakfast, bit tight to get around the restaurant area. But great staff, very knowledgeable and helpful!

Opposite massive building site currently so don't expect a lie in. Aircon also noisy, no iron/board. However staff friendly and helpful, bed was good and 5 minute walk from the central station.

For the price like that the hotel does not meet requirements. Rooms are small and not very nice, bath was small as well, air conditioning wasn't working at all at first, then it was so loud, Wi-Fi, if it works at all, is super slow. There is no restaurant, no proper bar, no pool, no gym, nothing. I have paid 300dkk more than I had paid previously in the hotel from the same group — Tivoli, and I would definitely recomemded the Tivoli than Square. Do not recomend it and will never book it again.

Nice hotel very close to down town area, friendly staff, quite small rooms.

The square is in a great location for exploring Copenhagen and the bed is very comfortable, unfortunately it left a lot to be desired. The room smelled faintly of petrol throughout the night, the Wi-Fi connection was spotty at best and when we complained we were made to feel as though we were being called liars, the pillows were horrible and the breakfast was less than great. Would be unlikely to stay again.

Not the best location, though situated precisely at the Rådhuspladsen. Either you listen to the city hall bell or to the garbage utilizing service. Wifi is hopeless in the rooms, while okey at public areas.

The room was large enough for our little band of traveling misfits and they were able to accommodate us easily. However there were several maintenance issues upon arriving. Firstly the bathroom door is glass and see through. And I wasn't affixed to the door frame properly so it opened constantly we had to use one of our bags to keep it closed while is was being used. Also the toilet was cracked along the back through the inside. It wasn't noticeable at first but after a couple days you could clearly see it split. The toilet also I believed uses gray water. Which if you don't know what that is its the non drinkable water that is recycled from waste water. So the bathroom constantly smelled as though someone had just used it. There was no ventilation for the bathroom so that doubled the stink factor when someone actually did use it. The shower wall wasn't very long or sealed at the bottom which made exiting the shower an at your own risk situation because the floor was soaked. The beds were comfy and there was a TV to watch. However there wasn't a close outlet to plug into for charging my phone near the bed and the little stereo they had in the room didn't even turn on. Lastly breakfast was not included in the stay which soured my want to recommend it to anyone.

Attention The breakfast is usually not included and I received a bad surprise at check out, they have a very good service also of breakfast very rich and varied but definitely expensive for us Italians accustomed to cappuccino and croissant.

Bad hotel, bad information, much noise. Bad executed bathroom (shelf was loosely from the wall) air conditioner did not work on the room. Bad cleaning. To much noise in the 'breakfast place' never again to that place.

Small, cramped room that smelled like tobacco smoke. Sofabed was not made, and the room did not have sheets. Great service and nice staff.

Great location, front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our trip was over a long spring weekend. Positives: Hotel is very clean as was our room and bathroom. Bedding and bathroom linen of good quality and amenities adequate. Cycles can be hired at reasonable price. Negatives: Our standard double room was small in size. Bit noisy from the street even on third floor. Curtains did not adequately block light. Not quite a 4-star hotel. Would I stay there again and recommend the hotel? Yes.

Nice hotel at the heart of Copenhagen. Great service and excellent location, breakfast is very good, but rooms are somewhat small and the work on the subway station infront of the hotel makes it a bit problematic if you want to enjoy your stay.

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel during our honeymoon trip to Europe. This hotel was, no doubt, the best hotel in our entire Europe hotel stays. The staff was very very helpful especially Rubi. This was the first hotel that provided us all the services we required (iron, print-outs, heating personal food). I would highly recommend it as the location is very central too.

Perfect Hotel for City-trips. Centrally located with all the advantages and disadvantages. Clean rooms, friendly staff. For us it worked.

Dissappointing. View of a building site, traffic noise so not well sound insulated and Copenhagen Pride week with sound stage 200m away so no chance of an early night. Would have expected at least a letter stating that there may be noise from the ongoing building work (and I suspect for many months) and during Pride week, but alas nothing. Room purportedly an executive room but very small although bathroom OK. Also used milk sache, cracked cups and had to crawl under furniture to plug in the fridge and music system. Breakfast just OK, nothing special. Only real good point is that is very central. And don't expect use of the exec lounge unless you book direct, although it does not state this on the Web site.

We had a pleasant experience here. Our stay was for two nights at the very end of a long trip. The reception area is large and modern with chess and checkers games, complimentary water and sometimes snacks, and comfy couches. Our room was well appointed and modern. Clean bathrooms and decent shower. I personally didn't think our room was small at all, especially for the rate. And who is spending enough time in their hotel room to care.

I stayed at the “Square Hotel” for a business trip the entire week of 18 January 2015. After this experience I will never stay in this hotel again in the future. TL;DR, fair, limited services, misleading staff, with a management unwilling to resolve problems encountered during stays. The rooms were barely adequate and small. The Details: The room: The “single” room is the smallest room I've ever spent a week in. The room was cramped, badly laid out, and reminded me of stories when I heard about friends traveling abroad in hostels and extremely cheap hotels during summer trips during their youth. The room was very clean, however if you are the least bit claustrophobic, stay elsewhere. Facilities: There were 3 elevators and during the entire stay, one of them was broken, leading to long waits for breakfast on the top floor in the morning and various other times. The elevators are very small and slow. Services: My room rate included breakfast buffet. The breakfast was fairly good, however had little variety. Eggs and Bacon every day, with the same cereals, with some alternation between hard-boiled egg, and some oatmeal looking thing. Coffee is not included with the breakfast room rate option (25-35DKK). Room service comes with a 40DKK service charge and is serviced by an outside restaurant. The room service phone was never answered when I called for it, and ended up calling the front desk after waiting 5 minutes. The menu is also fairly limited. Wifi worked OK.

I stayed in The Square last July with my mum and aunt for three nights in one of their three-bed rooms. It was my first visit to Copenhagen and I had some very good experiences with the hotel! The lounge is very spacious with good facilities, comfortable as a meeting point. The location is perfect for public transport and sightseeing and it was not too noisy even though my room was only on the second floor and the hotel being next to a big main road. The room wasn't spacious but sufficient since you don't normally plan to spend hours in the hotel room in your holiday apart from sleeping at night. There are plenty of options for meals nearby, which was very handy if you travel with family who are not used to with European food. There is also a Vietnamese restaurant near by that I went at least twice during my stay. My last recent very nice experience was to do with my deposit. I chose to do express check out when I left the hotel not realising that they still had my deposit. So, I emailed them approx. Two weeks ago and no hassle at all, I have now received my deposit back! Overall, I recommend the hotel for your stay in Copenhagen and I will definitely stay in The Square again.

Perfect location in centre of Copenhagen. Looks ordinary from outside but is great inside. Rooms are not big but very modern and cosy and it makes you get out and see the city. Breakfast is very good and staff are extremely helpful. Would recommend this hotel and certainly would stay here again.

Superb location. Room was a bit small. Nice breakfast on the top floor with a good view over CPH.

Good overall hotel and fair priced. Great placement smack in the middle of Copenhagen right next to Tivoli and Strøget. Excellent breakfast. Cozy rooms for the superior. Don't know what difference between the normal / superior / executive rooms.
