Beautiful building with excellent acoustic. Even if you don't plan to attend a show but are interested in architecture, this is a must see building if you are in or near central Copenhagen. If you are interested in attending a show, keep in mind that the prices are a bit steep. However, in my opinion it is definitely worth every penny.

The Copenhagen Opera House is one of the most expensive opera houses in the world. The theatre Building is located opposite the Amalienborg Square in central Copenhagen. Over 500 million dollars were spent On its construction. The Theatre consists of 14 floors, 5 of which are underground. Its total area is 41 000 square meters. The Author of the Opera Theatre project was the Danish architect Henning Larsen. The Official opening of the theatre was held on January 15, 2005 by the opera "Valkyrie" Wagner.

Creative and very interesting building. Nice decoration of the city.

I saw her from the outside while I was sailing with a boat and I could see her from outside.

Wonderful building. Came for the Swan Lake ballet… Had a great time.

Beautiful building, excellent seating. Helpful staff and free cloakroom. Easy to get to by boat, taxi and bus. Quite expensive to see show. We sat on 2nd level 2 tickets were £118. March 2018

Beautiful building, 4 flights of seating. Seats are spacious and all staff friendly… all can speak English. Coats are hung up in the foyer at No charge and everyone trusts eachother. Quite refreshing. Little yellow boat takes you across to and from the opera house. Very reasonable and quick. Taxis wait outside to take you home.

Such a gorgeous space! It's modern and well-equipped, but very tastefully designed. (I guess we expect that from the Danes, though, don't we? ) Most importantly, the quality of the singing in the production I saw (Exterminating Angel) was very high, the orchestra played a challenging score with beautiful precision, and the production value was very high. I'll absolutely be visiting again.

Nice building with three big round lamps in the hall showing the danish design at it’s best. Also beautiful views of amaliensborg square, the mármol church and the canals. The opera room is smaller than it looks but the decorations are perfectly matched. I experience a small musical play and the sound is up to the expectations.

Beautiful building both on the inside and outside. The Magic Flute was performed beautifully!

A must for anyone who's interested in Danish culture! Even if you aren't going to see a play, at least experience the architecture.

Amazing view over the city, very friendly. Great opera experience, good seats, really great. Building beautiful inside and a wonderful place to visit.

Very beautiful theater. Lovely design, a little lociic, but, at the same time, very interesting. The chandeliers in the hall are mesmerizing, and the glass walls allow you to admire the harbor during the break. The walls inside the hall are covered with soft material. The penultimate rows of chairs on the balcony are equipped with monitors so that viewers of the last rows can read the translation into Danish.

An interesting guided tour of the architecture of the opera. A price a bit expensive nonetheless.

Magnificent and elegant work of the architect H Larsen looking out to the canal. Interiorly with extraordinary acoustics is decorated with works of also great Olafur Eliasson. Perfect acoustics You can visit or go to a representation, whose tickets are quite expensive, or take a guided tour. The environment is beautiful.

It's hard NOT to look past the ugly architecture. The indoors are all fantastic, with beautiful oak tree facades and amazing chandeliers, but the ugly box sticking out of the top just ruins it. The parking and travel situation is bad too. Owise, the actual performance space is great with great acoustics and views.

The building itself is one of the best architectures I've seen so far. Great seats. A little too pricy (tickets and the drinks at the bar). I've seen the 2017 production of Rigoletto, which was not my taste.

Wonderful opera house! The sound is 100% natural, no microphones. Also, the ceiling is covered in 24 carat gold because it reflects the sounds better. 30 minutes before the show starts there's an introduction to the opera or play.

Modernist architecture and interiors in accordance with excellent access.

It's such a shame that the Opera house has such a bad service — huge lines in the coffee/bar and impolite employees in the wardrobes. I stayed 10 mins in the line to pick up my jacket and when I finally got there the woman refused to pick it for me because I was in the wrong line — how should I know! It was my husband who delivered the jackets, I didn't see where he delivered and the line was so big that I couldn't see where was A, B, C. When I tried to reason with her she started yelling at me in front of everybody. Very humiliating. It's really a shame because I really like the opera house. I think it's a beautiful and the performances are stunning. The actors and musicians are extremely professional and deliver the best but the adm staff on the other hand…

A special building. It is certainly distinct. But I'm not sure I find it actually beautiful and appealing. However the inside is definitely more beautiful than the outside and the functional architecture of the building is very great.

Exterior is awesome. Good view from both side of harvor. Tickets are available though online. With bus 1A, Opera House Road is the destination.

Attending a work here is a pleasure.

The theatre is open during the day and is freely accessible for tourists. With the lift inside you can drive up to the top and enjoy a 180 ° view of the city. The city of Copenhagen is reflected in the metal roof of the building.

Very pretty inside with an esoteric shell for the actual opera surrounded by bridges. Overlooking the waterfront and facing the Marble Arch.

Not just an eye-catcher from the outside!

Build to be majestic or extraordinary. It is. For the good and the bad. Definitely worth the experience.

Stunning design, nice selection of operas. Some of the stuff could be more polite, though. They literally kick you out right after the opera finishes. You are not allowed to go around or upstairs once the opera has finished, which is fair enough if they tell you politely. So make sure to check out the view and the building before the opera starts or in the breaks. It is a must see place of Copenhagen.

The opera is a beautiful building that can also be admired from the outside. The Opera House is located directly in the port of Copenhagen. Which exerts a special flair.

Was not yet in the opera but from the outside an architecturally interesting Opernbau.

OK hotel, small rooms filled with useless stuff, just to earn the stars. Loud rooms. OK breakfast.

Welcoming staff, good location. Rooms aren't anything special but still very pleasant.

Hotel Opera gets the job done. Close to public transport and some tourist sights, but in a quieter and safer area, Hotel Opera was well-situated for everything we wanted to do. Especially with bikes. While the room was small, it had everything we could need — a comfy bed, a seating area, a clean bathroom, a window that cracks to get fresh air, and a good Wi-Fi signal (free internet). The hotel was the same — the breakfast was functional, the business center's computer worked, and the front desk was there when you needed it (though the people who worked there were a little curt at times). The hotel offers bike rentals, which we were thrilled about. In retrospect, we could have gotten a better deal elsewhere (down the street, for example, at 50kr a day instead of 125kr at the hotel), and the bikes were not in great repair (mine didn't have a functioning back light, despite that being required by law). But, again, they got the job done. Plus, it was very easy picking them up and dropping them off, and that was worth some money to us. Like any place in Copenhagen, you'll be charged to use your credit card. Boo.
