This is the best hotel where I've ever stayed before 😍It is Located near the main railway station. The service is perfect. The food is fresh and delicious. There are all necessary things in the room, the best window view. Live music during the branch on Sundays. Great room service! I always get sweets in the afternoon) ) ) I like this style of interior, it reminds me Great Gatsby's) This hotel also has his own history. It's almost 100 year old hotel. Everyone who works here is proud to be a part if this family. It attracts) This place and atmosphere is better than everyone expects! Thank you for being so hospitality and kind! 🙏❤️

The best place to stay in Zagreb. Staff is absolutely lovely. It's a great pleasure to return there every year and start to know the staff, who are always extremely welcoming.

From the time you step in the door the service is 110%, the staff are so helpful. Beautiful comfortable room and what a fantastic elegant dining room with the best Buffett breakfast I have ever seen. Highly recommend this hotel and easy access into old town Zagreb.

Grand opulent hotel. Quality fittings with excellent service.
Bar has a wide selection of Gins which we enjoyed sampling. Our Experience at Zinfandel Restaurant could have been better… we booked dinner having checked prior with bar staff that a particular wine was available. Very annoyed after being seated for a degustation to find our choice of wine on offer was not the vintage stated on menu… we were offered a much younger wine which should have been cellared for another 4 years to have been superb.
The food courses (5) although interesting were not of Michelin star quality & therefore overpriced.
I could elaborate more on each course however best left at that!

I liked the ambience, the food, the broad staircases and the terrace a lot, it is centrally located close to the botanical garden, what it lacks is s good swimming pool, with jacuzzi, for weary travelers and businessmen to chill out after a hard day's work.

Still the best hotel in Zagreb. It does not feel like a formulaic hotel chain and I love the fact that the General Manager started as a doorman! The bar has a nice atmosphere and they have the best Club sandwiches in Zagreb — I have been going here for 3 years and the sandwich is always consistently good. There is also a nice history to the hotel which was once an overnight stop for the Orient Express. Only comment would be that the rooms could be updated a bit.

Expensive Baroque hotel. Beautiful furniture in pleasant tones. Very clean bathroom, everywhere natural stone, soft towels. Comfortable pillows and a mattress.
The hotel is close to the train station and is just a 20-minute walk to the bus station.

When you check in you can sit down and that's typical of the service. The breakfast was outstanding too. Great hotel. Aircon worked fine for me which was just as well as couldn't open window because of insects.

Grand hotel with pleasant staff and respectable amenities. Large, comfortable rooms. Solid dining options between the casual bistro and more refined Zinfandel’s. Easy walking distance to all the highlights. Gym had free weights, which is a plus in my book.

The Esplanade is a lovely old world hotel. I've spent a lot of time in Vienna and it very much reminds me of a beautiful hotel there, like the Kempenski. The rooms here are a little less modern, but still very nice. The breakfast is generous — a buffet and you can order from a menu, all for the same or. The gym is small. The staff were very friendly.

A dream! The last breakfast we overslept and they gave for each of us a bag with the breakfast to take away, which I found very attentive!

Like the Antique Hotel can choose here the East train one stop hotel parking is not free package day is 20 euros on the edge of a public car park parked for a short time, you can choose where to walk for about 10 minutes to the old town.

I think sometimes I only go to Zagreb because of this exquisite hotel. I love the Esplanada.

This hotel is the best in the Balkans, built for the wealthy passengers of the Orient Express of yesteryear, it maintains its regal and dedicated service and elegance of years past and rarely seen anymore.
We loved everything about this beautiful hotel but, most of all, its people. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We will return before year-end with our youngest daughter.

Luxurious lobby, friendly and excellent service. Very helpful. The normal room is kinda small and not comfortable bed!. Overall its good. Note: no coffee or coffee machine available in the room, should be standard for 5 hotel.

A hotel with super food. They make homemade cookies and gingerbread cookies which are so delicious you can't have enough of them. Superb location to stay when Christmas market season starts. It has couple of conference rooms for small venues.

We had a perfect stay in this hotel. A hotel of timeless elegance and modern day efficiency. The staff were excellent, providing a polite, friendly and professoinal service. Special mention to the waiters in the bar and bistro who introduced us to excellent croatian wine and we're so proud and informative about their beautiful city.

Unfortunately, however, the vote of this historical structure is penalized by the insufficiency of the staff, more precisely regarding the catering services present inside.
These last ones even with Michelin star, in my opinion overrated.

The hotel is built to meet Guests of the Orient Express, a great place.

Pity it was only one night! Gorgeous hotel beautifully renovated! The staff could not have been nicer, cudos to management on training. Reception was exceptionally gracious and we were upgraded to a suite with corner windows for best views and photos at night and at sunrise! Breakfast buffet was so extensive and fresh, all delicious. Concierge was very helpful with directions and made a great recommendation for dinner. We were in such a great location we did get to see more of Zagreb then expected. Definitely picked the best place in Zagreb!

First class with excellent service. Location about 10 minutes from old town. Didn't have breakfast because at 23 Euros thought it was pricey.

The most disappointing stay during our European honeymoon. For a 5 star hotel, the rooms were dusty and unkempt, the washrooms are TINY, there was hair all over the hair dryer and the drawer it was in, and the shower had black mold in the grout. The curtains and headboard had an incredible amount of dust, stains in the carpet, and overall, room smelled very musky. Service from the concierge was decent, and I enjoyed the L'Occitane products they provided, but that was about it. I had hung a white t-shirt on one of their hangers, and it left yellow stains on the shoulders. I informed concierge, and they sent someone to launder my shirt immediately, free of charge. This was a nice gesture, until I received the shirt back and the whole white shirt had turned BROWN because they had bleached it. There wasn't much concierge could do except remove our other laundry expenses, and apologize. Ultimately, I'm just baffled that a 5 star hotel would make such a big mistake with laundry. Luckily, the next hotel we went to in Vienna (Grand Ferdinand) amazingly turned my shirt white again.

I'm staying here now. Nobody opens a door and if you open it to the staff do not say thank you. The shower in my room does not detract, it is all flooded. NO ONE speaks Spanish staff. I went to breakfast and there is no place.
This hotel has very good building, the service is terrible do not throw the money! On the service: Three stars being generous. When I translated this same text to the concierge did not even ask me room number, name or anything, just put a face of circumstance. If you want to pay for a five star this is not it, almost a hostel with a nice building. Hugo García.

Simply one of my favorite hotels in the world. The whole atmosphere in this hotel is just grand and perfect. The restaurant is one if the best in Zagreb for sure and the 1925 bar awesome (especially the terrace in a summer afternoon). The professional and friendly staff completes the good picture.

I enter the Esplanade just for a drink at the "1925 lounge and cocktail bar". We were two and we ordered champagne and martini cocktail: the champagne was flat and cocktail martini wishy washy. There are many others lounge and cocktail bar in Zagreb to join that is not difficult avoiding this place.

A room under the attic… not very clean and rough housekeeping.

Stepping into this hotel makes you feel like your stepping back in time. Esplanade hotel is a beautiful part of Zagrebs rich history. The hotel is so close to the city centre, only walking distance. Shopping centre, cafes and bars all in close proximity. Trams and trains also close by. The food in the hotel is incredible. We felt like kings. The staff were more then helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Spacious was used by others to describe their rooms. If this was a stop on the Orient Express, then we got the servant's room. It was so small the bellman suggested that he put the second suitcase on the desk. The bathroom is smaller than ones I've had on cruise ships. If you open the door, it clears the front of the toilet by 1 foot (I measured). My husband was in the shower and I was in front of the sink; when he wanted to get out, I had to step out of the bathroom for him to do the so. Very disappointing stay. As others have mentioned, there is nothing to make tea or coffee with in the room, no complementary water and no iron. There is an old fashion pants press, useful if you only wear pants.

We have stayed at Esplanade several times. The service is always impeccable. The rooms are also very nice. The location is a great-grandfather a short walk to the main train station, and to the old town (about 10-15 min).

One of the best hotels I ever stayed in! The service is really the highest you can get, even on small details they are precise enough to satisfy any custumer. I was astonished how the staff is used to very complex demands.
