Stayed here with the other half at the end of last summer (September) and have to say it was lovely. It’s an ideal base for exploring the National Park and a 15 minute walk gets you to the lakes. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly which always helps. The room was clean and there was plenty of space. The bathroom smelt a little of drains initially but some air freshener and a little airing was able to see to that. The entrance to the shower could certainly have done with being a little bigger. I’m not sure a well padded person would have actually fitted through the gap… The room had a small balcony overlooking the marina which was perfect for relaxing if you didn’t fancy the sea. For valuables a row of small lockers was available by the reception. Thoroughly enjoyed the food at both breakfast and dinner. There was a decent selection for both, cooked breakfast and then different dishes depending on what day it was for dinner. Outside the hotel you cross over the road to find the outdoor bar. This overlooks a very small kids pool, a paved area for sunbathing and of course sea — an area of which is marked out for hotel guest use. The sunbathing area is only open for hotel guests but goes get pretty busy so getting out early is pretty essential if you want something to lie on. Some suggestions I have that didn’t negatively affect my stay but could assist the hotel are detailed below — given that my stay was last year some of this may already have been done and it’s also possible that I missed some anyway. As dinner was set for each day of the week a menu in/info on what was being served in the rooms would be useful. Would make planning meals a little easier. The steps into the sea could have done with being serviced more regularly, although perfectly useable they were in relatively poor condition. Some underwater lighting for the designated swimming area in the sea would really improve the luxury feel the hotel’s website suggests it has. Some more appropriate shower doors to enable access for the larger person. Other than that, the stay was wonderful and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone heading to Mljet.
