Review of Guesthouse Victoria 3*

Guesthouse Victoria was splendid. The host was friendly and nice and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend to anyone considering to visit Dubrovnik on a budget. We had trouble finding the Guesthouse at first (our first stop in Croatia so we weren't familiar with the road signs) — smaller hostels/apartments/guest houses can sometimes be difficult to identify in Croatia. Guesthouse Victoria is roughly across from the Studenac supermarket so find a place to park near there if you get a chance because continuing up Stjepana Cvijica by car can get difficult — the roads are narrow made more so by the fact that cars park on the sides. It's hard to continue up that road for very long let alone find a place to Uturn so when you see the supermarket it's a good place to stop. Guesthouse Victoria had 3 parking spaces and I only had to request it on the booking to reserve a space for free. Dubrovnik is an easier city by foot than having to drive around and to find parking spaces etc. The room was nice. We got a room with an ensuite bathroom and it was modernly furnished with a working TV and good shower (although the hot water tank is a bit small so wait a bit before taking turns to shower! ) The room was nice and clean. We had a fantastic view of the harbour from our balcony. The lady running the Guesthouse was really lovely. She gave us a map and a carton of juice to freshen up with on arrival. She was very patient and gave us directions for the best route to the tourist attractions of Old City and harbour, tips about which bus to take and what route they go on, what is worth going to (Cable car to the mountain top was a lovely destination she recommended), and landmarks to watch out for when taking the route back to the Guesthouse. Our trip was made so much easier with her explanations. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Dubrovnik.
