Everything, welcome in the office by Carmencita, reception, staff all areas, kindness, respect to all guests without distinction for any gender, privacy, security, excellent food, contact with nature, etc. Etc. Close to the village and beach. Absolute cleaning. The price is worth all that and more. Super recommended.

We went to see animals and in addition we got amazing service, even better food and guides and staff that were truly passionate about their work. Loved every minute.

This was our first stop on our honeymoon and WOW did they set the bar high! My husband and I were overwhelmed in this beautiful paradise — not to mention the warm welcome (s) we received EVERY SINGLE TIME we came back from some adventure. There was always someone there to greet us with a smile (and with a freshly made juice) — — talk about Pura Vida.

Paradise in the jungle. If you love birds and you love wildlife and you want to be wowed this is the place for you.

Corcovado NP is hours away as are all external tours. If you've never been to a rainforest, this might be okay. Staff is nice, but food is mediocre. No onsite guide talks in the evening. Web info is misleading.

There couldn’t be any place that exceeds the natural beauty, staff friendliness, eco-considerations and wonderful meals, not to mention the hikes and tours they provide to you. One of National Geographics 50 best ecolodges in the world!

Food was ridiculously OVERPRICED and was not even tasty. I mean a salad for $12 with three mini stripes of chicken and 4 mint leaves and like 2 pieces of lettuce. What a disappointment.

We loved Lapa Rios. The staff is incredible, the food was delicious, and every tour we participated in was amazing. My 11 year old had the time of her life. We split our trip between this place and a 5 star luxury resort in a different part of Costa Rica, and while the other resort was lovely, we could have happily spent the entire time here. Our daughter picked Costa Rica as her dream trip, thank you all for making it absolutely unforgettable for all of us (I think we’ll let her pick the travel destinations more often). ❤️

Waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and watching the sun rise each morning is amazing! The Toucans and Macaws are nesting here!

Sits atop a mountain overlooking the jungle and the Gulfo Dulce. Unbelievable choices and elegance in the jungle. We came for dinner and a night hike.

Amazing time most beautiful place I've ever been with friendly staff and clean beautiful lodges.

My daughter, husband & I stayed here for 9 days in May 2018. The staff really go out of their way to make your stay fabulous. We were able to take part in all the free tours & activities offered at the lodge with the staff’s extremely knowledgeable nature guides which were incredible experiences. It was very interesting to learn how the Ecolodge is self sustainable. The food & drinks served in the open air dining room were delicious! The wildlife around the lodge is just amaz…ing. Just walking from the lodge to your ocean view bungalows you will see different animals every time. We took a trip to Corcovado Park as well as going zip lining where we saw many Tapirs, sloths, four different types of monkeys and many other animals. Lapa Rios allows you to stay in the rainforest but in a luxury resort with the entire staff helping to make this the best vacation you could ever imagine! We can’t wait to go back!

Amazing place, with great customer service and excellent local guides. We had bird watching with Jeffery, great local knowledge of all wildlife!

This is an amazing place to visit! The views are breathtaking and you can spend the full afternoon just watching all the birds soar by. There are two separate balconies with overview of the valley and the sea. If you go up the winding stairs there's even a look out that let's you see straight over the canopy of the rainforest. Lunch was excellent and well priced, especially if you take the view and the super friendly crew into account. Very welcoming and friendly. Would love to visit this place again soon and spend more time.

We went there for aperitive and dinner! Was amazing! The view i’t incredible, we drunk cocktails in front of 6 Tucanos! The food was great and the guys lovely! I really suggest to go there!

Location in the heart of nature. Multitude of activities to get in touch with her. Luxury rooms but still more the views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As a negative point the complicated communication with the surrounding environment, we tried to visit Puerto Jiménez, approximately 15 KM, and the transfer had a cost of 90 dollars, with all the services and activities that includes the Lodge would be nice if anyone were to know Puerto Jiménez and their people.

A true jungle experience. I got to start by saying Lapa Rios is by far the best Hotel I know. Getting to Lapa Rios is easy and fun, the flight is really nice, overlooking the ocean, and the forest, the “whale tale” in central Pacific (make sure you take the window) the once you land, some is waiting for you with a coconut The drivers will take you in a cool 4x4 passing rivers, and seeking for animals already on your way in. First, the location in the Osa Peninsula, with a stunning view of the ocean and the tropical forest. This place has the best sunrise view ever. The people and service; have you been to a place where everyone know you by your first name? And make you part of symbiosis of the Hotel? Is like you known them forever. The guides are just amazing and the property of the hotel is simply pure-life, trees, wildlife, river and waterfalls. In our first hike we spotted 4 kinds of monkeys, our guide Danilo knows everything about the forest and the animals, you stick to this guys for a week and he will make sure to teach you all you need to know. Restaurant was very nice, service friendly and open to recommend and always very kind. Regarding the room I will post a few pictures (nothing words can describe) … almost forgot, THE BEST thing, you can sign a list for coffee deliver to your room ❤️ works perfect… reference in the pictures… Just my experience…

We had very high expectations for Lapa Rios and all were exceeded. The bungalows were amazing, open air, literally in the rainforest, the sound of the howler monkeys wakes you up to watch the sunrise right from your bed! The food is healthy, fresh and top notch. The wildlife is everywhere; scarlet macaws, toucans, howler, spider, white faced and squirrel monkeys, sloths and beautiful birds are around the property. The staff is proud, knowledgeable about the rainforest, sustainability, the service is impeccable. Lapa Rios is a priceless experience; my kids loved every single moment they spent in to the rainforest, interacting with the staff, learning about the wildlife and sustainability. This slice of heaven is not for everyone, if you enjoy the forest, are willing to discover, be immerse with wildlife and respect its environment, there is no time to waste. All in all a perfect vacations and we can’t wait to come back.

Having stayed at Lapa Rios is hard to put into words! I really recommend taking your kids there for a full nature, cultural and sustainability immersion… I promise no other family vacation will top this!

The best place for viewing wildlife! My kids (7 & 10) were super excited about everything they saw and learned. The guides are amazing and the staff in general goes overboard to help you and make you feel welcome.

Due to my work with Lapa Rios I have stayed there numerous times and I can wholeheartedly recommend a stay there to anybody looking for the best of nature in Costa Rica.

Get away from the craziness and enjoy being with nature. This is the place to let you relax, enjoy family time, and learn about the great Rain Forest ecosystem. Facilities are excellent when you follow the guidelines and the food is local and good. You are visiting the rain forest, so enjoy it for the rain forest. Staff will go out of their way for your reasonable requests.

Absolutely gorgeous place with excellent view. We only went up for dinner after a long day of hiking and were very happy with the service, the attention, the atmosphere and the food was amazing! 100% recommended!

Spent four night here in early Dec. Our favorite place in Costa Rica. Amazing guides that are not only informative, but truly seem to love their jobs and country. I honestly was sad to leave this place. We think and talk of it often. Saw so much wildlife, food is delicious, and everyone is so friendly. The rooms are comfortable, with amazing views. It is a must visit place.

If you enjoy nature and appreciate the efforts of those conserving it then Lapa Rios is on the must-see destination list of Costa Rica. The experience is educational as they are constantly providing information about the animals, plants, fresh fruit drinks, land and people. Daily there are opportunities to take various hikes and birding is fantastic! I look forward to a return trip.

Wow, where to start… We came here for our honeymoon and it was amazing. The staff, guides and facilities are amazing, friendly and super helpful. We stayed in the lower level cottages, a bit more of a hike to the lodge but we were rewarded with tons of wildlife — monkeys, parrots, toucans, coati's, agouti's, frogs and more. We did all the hikes, try them all you won't regret it.

An amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. One leaves here with a new understanding of our place in this world… all while being treated to a first — class vacation!
