Highly recommended. The attention of ALL the staff was excellent from the security officers at the entrance, reception, restaurants and cleaning. Thank you very much. I must mention the clean pool areas, nice to be there (and in the pool bar). The room, toilet and bathroom (shower) all perfect. Restaurant and bar prices, according to the quality. We tried the sushi, at the Sushi Bar, it was just exquisite. The breakfast included buffet very varied, fresh, delicious.
A very well equipped gym, and we saw the SPA (we had no chance to take advantage of it). Excellent.
A short walk from the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park (buy your tickets online).
A short walk to the public beach and other restaurants and bars.
Thanks and congratulations, we will be back! An excellent and rewarding experience!

Recommended 100% is excellent in service kindness attentive excellent treatment from the moment you enter until you go super excellent breakfast and beautiful views to observe the sunset reservations and you will have the best delight. In your eyes it is beautiful to see the sunset is incomparable beautiful I loved and I felt super happy.

My family and I absolutely loved our vacation at San Bada Hotel & Spa. Our experience was great the staff was very welcoming! The hotel is literally next to the Manuel Antonio Park. Monkeys everywhere they even come to your room! I can keep going about how amazing my experience was but then I would create a book lol Definitely recommend ♥️

The place is beautiful surrounded by nature and the attention is excellent. A very nice experience.

Our stay at Hotel San Bada was not remarkable. The room was adequate and had enough space. The mini fridge did not work, but they were able to put a bigger fridge in our room for our use. The beds seem a bit old and sag towards the middle. There were ants in our room upon arrival which got worse throughout our stay. The ants also got into our suitcase which was a bummer. I think our biggest disappointment was breakfast. My ham was like lunch meat and the pancakes are nothing exciting. All the food is prepackaged and not served fresh or even hot and all they have to do is heat it up. My girlfriend is vegan and they had a hard time catering to her dietary needs. She only had an option of rice and beans and fruit. The photos online look amazing but do not accurately depict the hotel so don’t be fooled by the high room price thinking San Bada is a nicer option. For the quality of the breakfast and rooms the price should be lower. The staff is friendly and the location cannot be beat when visiting Manuel Antonio National Park.

Excellent service, an excellent toilet, attention to detail, the protocol for breakfast for example, was the best, the places for breakfast are constantly clean, the food brings them delicately covered with adherent plastic, which gave us even more tranquility, nor what to say about the attention. Definitely recommended!

I have only "rave reviews" for Hotel San Bada — such a luxury resort… felt like I was in paradise!
The staff did everything to make my birthday trip a "fabulous, memorable experience"! Being my 1st trip outside of North America, traveling on my own, they could not have been more friendly, helpful & professional!
My room was lovely & my balcony overlooked the rainforest… gorgeous views & I enjoyed watching the monkeys, toucans & listening to treefrogs! It was the perfect location, right next to the park. I enjoyed all of the amenities-pools, fitness room & ate a number of meals at the 2 restaurants & relaxed at the rooftop bar — saw a gorgeous sunset.

I think is a pretty nice hotel, even though is a bit far from the ocean from some suites you can se it from the balcony, and the the ad said, it’s right next to the national park!

Amazing service all around. Carla at Sana spa helped my mom, sister and I finish this relaxing trip with a facial, massage and volcano wrap respectively and I wished we started the week that way. We definitely would have opted for more treatments. She was amazing. The waiters and waitresses at breakfast and pools were friendly and attentive.

First, the views from the rooftop bar were absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were pretty nice though the air conditioner was pretty loud. Staff was very accommodating, the bartenders were great and the facility over all seemed quite well taken care of. Never got a chance to use either pool but they both looked fantastic. The convenience of the hotel being immediately next to Miguel Antonio National Park was awesome.

To wake up in the morning, looking around and see nature and feel beatitude of Spirit! Wonderful time! Most of the personal don’t speak English, but rightly away with smile they call colleague who do speak. The great place close to Manuel Antonio National Park.

The location of the property is the only pro. We entered the room and were greeted by two giant wasps. The room also reeked of mold. There was mold visible on the walls. The television did not work. It was a miserable stay to say the least. After we left, we found that our clothes and belongings now unbearably smell like mold. I advise you to avoid this place.

The location is probably the best. The hotel is right at the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park, also a 5 minute walk to Espadilla Sur beach, where there are souvenirs and essentials. Where you can fly on an aeroplane, drive a water motorcycle, there are sunbeds umbrellas, etc. Casamo hotel itself: the rooms are very outdated, ungroomed, the smell of mold, behind the backs of beds it can be found in abundance, it is not surprising, as it is very damp. The furniture is old, the walls are eerie) ) little light. For the room I paid $200/night actually only for the location. On the top floor of the hotel, on the roof, there is a sushi bar overlooking the ocean.

Tried a cheap Hotel and it was full of mold… I was with the wife and kids so that was not going to work. I thought the San Bada was going to be too expensive but surprisingly it was only $225 for a very nice and clean room facing the ocean. The staff was excellent and they have two pools and two restaurants (one is a sushi bar). The location is ideal at the entrance of the Manuel Antonio park and walking distance to the beach. The one thing I would change is the hot tub is solar heated for environmental purposes and does not get hot at all (just warm). Overall great hotel at a decent price.

Great place to stay in La Fortuna. Lots of fun things to do for kids. The hotel had good range of breakfast with lots of different options.

Very nice hotel, a bit expensive but normal. There are no bathrooms near the pool and those in the restaurant have a particular smell. Very good service. Breakfast included is great. The pool on the 6th floor very nice and the view wonderful.

We visited on a Monday to take advantage of the promotion of sushi. Lovely place, the food is delicious, the service was a little slow.

Amazing view, great food, drinks, not expensive at all, amazing staff, clean, safe, near the beach, vendors and stores, right next door with Manuel Antonio National Park. Excellent service, worry about a lot for giving information to customers about the area, ad the more it has a privileged location.

Typical beach hotel — a little worn, but nicely kept. Right next to entrance to National park entrance, get your tickets 7am. Restaurant has a nice breakfast including grill to make you eggs to your liking. Swimming pools are nice, one on 6th floor is for adults, but kinda small. The rooms are clean though the safe is very small — it worked! TV has 6 english speaking channels.

Room was large and comfotable. Poor view from our balcony but it was functional. Shower was quite large with rain shower head. Pools were very nice. Location is everything — immediately at the entrance to Manual Antonio National Park. Breakfast buffet was excellent — made to order eggs and omelettes. You can check out beach towels.

Beautiful and convenience to the Park. The room was spotless, love the bathroom. Great location, I saw the most stunning sunset at the rooftop bar. Love it and highly recommend this hotel.

A hotel with an unbeatable location, as it is next to the beach and the entrees to the national park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Maybe you don't need to modernize the rooms.

Amazing location, right outside Manuel Antonio National Park. Rooms were nice and clean. Nothing special, but you are really not at this hotel for the room, you are here for the park. Had a spectacular evening at the roof bar. Watching the sunset, having a beverage and being visited by squirrel monkeys! There was also a howler monkey in the trees right outside our room. Entrance to the park is less than 100m from the hotel. And, they will supply beach towels for you to use inside the park. Wonderful experience.

Highly recommend this place. The best place we stayed during our 2 week trip. Right next to the park and a short walk to the beach. The rooms, pool, heck all the facilities were top notch, and so were the staff. Wish we had spent more time here. I even got a massage at the beautiful spa.

I’d like to share my opinion about this place! It’s location is the ideal to know Manuel Antonio, it’s the nearest hotel to Manuel Antonio National Park. The place is too beautiful, the rooms are too comfortable! People who work there are more than the word ‘nice’ they are in charge of making you happy staying there! Congo’s restaurant is a great place, food is delicious and too variable! Thanks to all the staff, it was just a day with my family, but we really enjoyed it! ☺️

So my friends and I didn’t stay at the hotel, but we wanna give a shout-out to your employee Carlos who came to our rescue when we got a flat tire. He immediately pulled over and helped us change it. Your employees go above and beyond for people who weren’t even guests. We didn’t have any cash on hand to thank him properly, but hopefully he will see this review! Thank you Carlos!

It was right next the park. Easy access to the park and beach. The hotel is beautiful. Nice rooms. Food was decent.

Hotel located at the gates of Manuel Antonio National Park. It has nice rooms and very good views of the beach and the national park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It has two restaurants, one downstairs and one on the terrace where they make cocktails and shushi. The bad thing is that it has a single elevator and that because of its proximity to nature there may be some bug.

The hotel was quite run down. The smell of mold was overwhelming in the rooms. They moved us to another room that smelled slightly less strongly, but it was still very bad. The odor was very strong on the beds and in the bathrooms. It was so terrible, that we tried to stay out of our rooms as much as possible. Our magnifying mirror in the bathroom electrocuted us when we accidentally touched it. There was a domestic dispute in a room near ours that we had to call security about. I was concerned about the safety of our children and brought them into our room that night. The hotel did not have good security for people coming and going. We were very disappointed since they claim to be a luxury hotel. Very misrepresented online.

My wife and I came to Costa Rica to Manuel Antonio Beach, and walked the the National Park… as we left, both hungry… we saw a sign for this hotel, for lunch with an ocean view… this place welcomed us with open arms and opened up the restaurant (slow season) and we sat at a table with a beautiful ocean view. Our server Emilio was the nicest, most kind, and knowledgeable person ever. 5 star service! We definitely recommend this place, food, service, everything was amazing!

Very nice hotel, with great staff near the beach. We went to sushi bar on first day and it was one of the best Sushi I ever had with great staff.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL! Located steps from the National Park, walking distance to the beach, local stores and restaurants. Very friendly and attentive staff. My favorite part is the open air lounge and pool at the top floor of the Hotel that offers a breathtaking view of the ocean. Perfect space for relaxing, reading and meditation. pura vida.

This is a good place to stay at. It's right on the beach so the view is amazing. Food is very good here and so the same goes for the service. Everyone is very polite and will make sure you have a wonderful time.

I stayed at Hotel San Bada last week for several nights. Unfortunately their laundry machine had broken and the rooms were not ready on time. They offered us a meal and open bar and were extremely apologetic. They later called to make sure our meal and everything was okay. I don't write reviews often but I have to say that the customer service was above and beyond what I expected from them. They really care about making their customers happy and multiple employees came to us throughout our stay to ask how we were. The rooms were nice and clean. We had a lot of fun st the pool. Congo restaurant was great as well. Amazing service. Amazing hotel.

We've stayed here a few times and the hotel is beautiful, the staff is very accommodating and it's a close walk to the National Park and the beach. The beds are super comfy and I'm in love with the pillows! The room is spacious and has a king sized bed, two kitchen chairs and small table with a coffee maker, a lazy boy type chair and a free standing closet with hangars. The bathroom has a tub and shower and the greatest smelling lotion. The restaurant and bar serve fabulous food and drinks and their are two pools, one downstairs and one upstairs with a bar. We are told the owners are Korean and we would love to meet them as we have three children who teach English in the Gangnam area.

We had a early dinner and enjoyed the view from the 6th floor restaurant. It was very pretty view. The servers could not of been more helpful with menu items and information on the wildlife from the park.
Our dinner and drinks were delightful and the prices were not outrageous.
We will definitely put this on our list when we have visitors from the states.

Part of our Caravan tour. Found the location to be perfect, and the hotel property exquisite. A beautiful room and comfortable beds, and wonderful bathroom. Perfect ocean views. Made use of the rooftop pool after sunset, and the main pool after a day exploring the Park. Rooftop deck designed to watch the sun go down every evening, with a drink in hand.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica. Brought our 3 daughters aged 2 — 12. The staff was very polite and helpful. We felt very comfortable. Hotel and grounds were beautiful. We had a wonderful trip. Cant wait to go back.

Excellent friendly service and very good food.

Excellent hotel, but reason for 4 star is that the breakfast for the Congo Café says it starts at 6 but actually starts at 7. You would want to eat at 6 since you want to get to the Manuel Antonio National Park as soon as it opens and it opens at 7 and closes at 4. Also prices for laundry are absolutely outrageous and the closest place to get laundry done is in Quepos.

The very beautiful place in every sense. Very central and close to turistiar. The only thing I would like is that all meals are included since only the breakfast is included but otherwise very good.

Beware. Rooms smell like mold really really bad. Additionally they overcharge. Had a whole bunch of family members stay here with me. My aunt had a single room booked with them, and my uncle flew down to join her. To ensure honesty we told them about him being in the room worn her and they charged her an extra $127 (1 night stay). That's crazy to me. The air though, honestly, it felt unhealthy to breath in that smell. You know that smell when you forget to take clean clothes out of the washer and your clothes get moldy? It smelled just like that and was overpowering. The smell was in multiple rooms but not all. Loved the location, but wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I was very disappointed with my stay in Hotel Bada. Maybe it should just be called Hotel Bad! I arrived and hadn't planned to stay in Manual Antonio but because of the public transportation schedule had to spend the night. I walked in to Hotel Bada because it was very close to the Manual Antonio National Park. That was my first mistake. I guess because they are at the entrance they feel they can charge more without worrying about customer satisfaction. The best rate they could give me was $158 a night. And this is during the rainy season. I was exhausted and wasn't able to get on the internet to find another hotel. I was given a room, which wasn't all that bad. However when I showered the bathroom flooded and I had to put towels to keep the water from running into the rest of the room. When I told them they didn't think it was such a big deal. Not even sure if they went to the room to check as I left to go to dinner. The next morning I had to be up early to catch a bus and tried to shower. There was no hot water! I know this isn't a cold climate but I would have been happy to have a Luke warm shower but that wasn't the case. I got dressed and headed to the front to check out. I told them what had happened and that I was very dissatisfied with my stay. They said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do! Now I was told when I checked in that the whole front of the hotel was under renovation and the main pool was closed.

We had a fantastic week-long stay at this delightful smaller hotel, a short walk to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. Hotel San Bada has a private walkway, open 6 AM to 6 PM, that provides a short-cut to the beach. The rooms are comfortable and slightly quirky, with balconies that (at least for our room) overlook the forest canopy. We sat on our balcony and watched howler monkeys cavorting in the treetops. The staff is helpful, attentive, and largely bilingual, making things much easier for Spanish-impaired Anglos. The food at the restaurant and cafe was excellent, and the drinks — — adult and otherwise — — were delicious. We indulged in the Sana Spa a bit — — a Swedish massage, and a volcanic mud wrap for me — — and were impressed with both the facility and the skill of the staff. Front desk staff were helpful and honest about excursions — — which they booked for us, and quickly rebooked when we had to change plans — — and spot on with their recommendations. San Bada has been working hard to be in the major leagues of tourist hotels in the area, and it's paid off big time. As of this writing (and our visit, which was late August — — the transition to the rainy season and off-season for tourists), the staff was predominantly young and energetic. We got a call every day to make sure everything was alright — — and if we were out all day and weren't there to receive the call, invariably someone on staff recognized us and asked in person.

We stayed 2 nights in one of suite room. The location is awesome for manuel antonio national park. It is right in front of the entrance of the national park. The food is great (great included breakfast) and staffs were so kind. Room is very clean and cozy and so wonderful to watch sunset from the balcony. You definately consider to stay in Hotel San Bada if you plan to go to Manuel Antonio beach in Costa Rica!
