Good location, Helpful Receptionist!

A super beautiful quiet place with excellent customer service in front of the beach and with pool, a place to share with family.

Excellent service, friendly atmosphere.

The way the hotel is designed helps people meet other travelers, so this makes it a great experience. It’s a hostel that I would definitely recommend because all the common areas are really comfortable. This Selina has a great surf club and yoga clases that make great activities.

The Selina in Tamarindo and all of the staff there is simply amazing! From start to finish, my fiancée and I had such a fabulous stay here that we can’t wait to come back. The location, amenities and the activities here made Tamarindo as enjoyable as can be. Gotta shout out my man Andres, who’s such a kind upbeat host who truly embodies all of the awesomeness of Costa Rica. Everyone there, Oscar, Mariana and of course, the best surf instructor in town, Javier, make this place magical. Cheers to you all!

For BIKE RENTAL ONLY: Bike rental for $10 for 24 hours? Outstanding! We didn't stay here — we only rented bikes, so we can't review the hotel, but the grounds looked nice with lots of fitness activities going on and very close to the beach. But the bike rental service was great – Diego Hernandez was very helpful and super-nice to us. Rental is easy, just bring ID and the bike is yours to park either at your hotel or theirs. They provide a lock. We recommend riding on the beach at low tide – it's a pretty long stretch from Langosta to Tamarindo and loads of fun. We also rode up to Playa Langosta. Another good ride was on Hotel Pasatiempo's road going up the hill, turning right at the dead end, and riding around up to where they're building a new zipline tower – you can see the whole area from there. The bikes are in good condition, they're simple 1-speed beach cruisers with baskets. Rent these bikes and Tamarindo is yours for the taking!

This review is only for renting motorbikes and booking the Catamaran Sunset Cruise at Selina Tamarindo: My group of 8 would like to give a HUGE shout-out to Diego! He was beyond friendly and welcoming to us. We were looking around town to book motorbikes, and he was able to quickly secure us 4 motorbikes for 3 days. Even gave us round of shots to celebrate the birthday boy in our group! Absolutely made our day :) We also booked the Catamaran Sunset Cruise for later that week — — Had an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TIME! The catamaran was decent size for ~40 ppl (including crew members), giving us enough space to lounge around, but also just crowded enough to feel like a party boat :P Had plenty amount of time to dive into the waters with options to snorkel and paddle board. Lunch was included, and best part was the open bar. We enjoyed every minute of it, into the beautiful sunset. My friends and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end our Costa Rica trip! Thanks, Diego, for taking care of us!

This luxury the best of tama.

Great atmosphere at Selina, the staff is anxious to meet all the needs, they take their time. And are very friendly and warm! The dorms are clean, with air conditioning, common rooms are plentiful and the Selina is very well located in the city! I highly recommend, I had planned 2 nights there, I took a 3rd and if I could I would have taken a 4th!

Overpriced!
Totally disappointed, I stay with my girlfriend for one night, and was enough to change my opinion of selina hostels!
Bad service.
Ugly, dirty and small rooms.
Small and muddy parking lot.
Not even close to the place and the experience they sell.
At least is really sad if you compare it with other selina hostels in Costa Rica.
Definitely there are many other options in Tamarindo where you can stay for less money and receive a much better service with beautiful rooms and great amenities.

I had the best 2 nights in Tamarindo. Amazing atmosphere and cool place to hang either with friends or solo traveler.

If you search for the fiesta is a good place… basic Amenities and necessary… Good place.

Nice place if you want to party. If not, it is very noisy. The stuff is nice, however we had to ask for basic services (bringing toilet paper, cleaning the bathroom). The room wasnt ready for new guests, the light bulbs weren't working (3 in 2 rooms so…). Tasty breakfast. Be carefull with booking activities with them; the hotel fee for diving is 50$ (! ). The regular price is 100$ and Selina ofers dives for 150$. The kitchen is a joke. There are no forks nor glasses. It is mostly used to party. There is one (! ) fridge for the whole place. Really? If you are under 25 this place is just for you, if you are older go somewhere else ;)

Selina Tamarindo was much better compared to other Selinas I stayed in Costa Rica. The dorms are quite spacious, relatively clean and the temperature was just right with the air-con … Dorms are independent little houses. Kitchen and bar were pretty good too. Price OK.

Do not stay here. Bugs in rooms — ants crawling on walls and in beds. Very expensive for what you get — very basic facilities. Kitchen is un-usable. Had 2 spoons for whole hostel, 2 bowls, and lots of dirty pans. Food was stolen continually from kitchen even when bagged up and name clearly labelled all over it. Had 2 items of clothing stolen off clothes line. Majority of staff do not care. Every person from hostel that we had spoken to all shared same opinion — expensive, bad facilities and all had at least something stolen — whether it had been food, clothes or even money from their rooms. Avoid at all costs! Stay in air bnb in Tamarindo — cheaper than this and so much better.

Selina Tamarindo is a super nice place to stay. Very close by the beach and everything else in Tama. Amazing surf teachers and staff. They made feel the place like home. Muchas gracias por todo.

When I was traveling in Costa Rica I lost my passport, wallet, everything. If it weren’t for the staff at Selina (especially Anthony, Keven, Schwartz, Ernesto, Ignacio) I would not have been able to manage. They went above and beyond to help me out and make sure I had the best time possible despite the difficult situation I was in. Can’t wait to go back. Best breakfasts in town, amazing Surf school, excellent selection of high performance boards to rent, and just wonderful people all around. At night I met great people from all around the world that I’m sure will be friends for life.

I went in a room with 4 people. Very narrow room. Good with backpack. There is air conditioning (remote to be asked at reception). It is a good place for under 30, and without too much expectations. Very young environment.

Always the best hostel option in costa rica, no matter where u are in the country. Great food, rooms, and customer service. Makes u feel at home.

The room was smaller than what expected and the bathroom was really dirty. Otherwise the breakfast was good and not expensive, the place was cute too and the pool is nice. Close to the beach and lots of restaurants & bars around, nice place to party :)

This is my second trip to Selina Hostels within a month and I have loved my experience both times. Staff is young, energetic, and kind. During the holidays, they provided excellent entertainment and activities day and night. Room was clean and bright… I had single room with a private bath. Loved it! Although I am in my 50s, the staff treated me exceptionally well on both visits.
