Great place and better atmosphere. The management of the hostel gives off good roll and quality in a hurry. The private rooms are huge and air-conditioned. The common areas invite you to chat and meet the other travelers. Very highly recommended.

The hostel is beautiful. The owner is super inviting and Nice. There are plenty of hammock and chairs to be comfortable. In addition, there is a table football and ping pong. Each room represents a music group. For our part, we had the Bob Marley room, which was wow! Each "dorms" to its toilet and shower! The hostel is located just 2 minutes walk from the sea. I highly recommend this hostel to the traveler!

I was walking down a dirt road in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and what did I hear? Live Spanish Guitar style music from Tony Putaggio. Wow, what an incredible evening. It was an amazing experience. Two people painted in front of the audience as Tony played. This was certainly an amazing experience.

Nice and affordable hostel. Very good vibes! The decoration is astonishing. Tom the owners is friendly and helpful. Proper kitchens. Some nights you can enjoy gigs with the other guests and enjoy the nice atmosphere of the venue. You can park your car easily.

Great experience. The entire vacation was super awesome. There was a guy playing spanish guitar all night long. And people painting while he was playing. There were bats in the crease of the ceiling. But it looked awesome when they flew around while the Guitar guy was playing.

Best hostel I've ever stayed at. Monkeys on the roof, alcohol punches, events, beach fires, live music nights, hammocks, central, awesome and very friendly staff!

Don’t stay here! This is a terrible place with a terrible owner, his name is Tomas and is under the influence of alcohol and cosaine and very aggresive. My friend stayed at this hostel. We went there for a drink on 03-12-2017 and I asked him for the toilet. He literaly said: Go pee outside! I said that I don’t want to pee outside, imagine if you’re a girl haha. Crazy. So I went to my friend’s room who stayed at the hostel and he aggresive grabbed me and pulled at my shirt. After that he shout at me and told me to f**k off. Well there is a sign at the entrance of this hostel. Come as a guest and leave as a friend. I don’t know what kind of friend you will be as you leave. Then I went home to my own place where I stayed in Tamarindo and my friend was kicked out of his room at 23:30 and needed to pay for two nights included the night he got kicked out and he needed to pay an extra 10$ because I used his toilet. How can you kick someone out the room at midnight and put him on the street? He was throwing a cigarette to my face and when we left because he needed to leave that place he was running behind us and pushed us on the street. People believe me, this owner is a crazy guy. We went to the police and told the whole story. There is a report and the police will close it soon! Oh, and I am sure this is the Pura Vida Hostel and not the Pura Vida Mini hostel. This is the right place.

Awesome place and great atmosphere. Thonas was a great host. Great live entertainment. Pura vida hostel was always clean and tidy. Best hostel ive ever stayed at. Made lots of friends there during my stay. Best hostel in Talarindo, thanks so much pura vida hostel. Ill definately be back.

Awesome place. The best cool vibes I found in Tamarindo. Thomas is just great. Lovely atmosphere. Definitive my favourite place in this beach.

Weeeelll… this place is just darn cool… there is no shortage of highly acceptable chill hostels here in Tamrindo. The PURA VIDA spirit oozes from this place. Private rooms with A/C and shared dorm rooms with extra fans available. The staff. Grade A… the common areas (plural) … super sweet… (hammocks / couches / rocking chairs / hand carved chairs — lawn chairs — chair chairs / stools / big tables and counter space / community books / community kitchens (plural) / community guitar / beer, drinks and water available for purchase at the front desk. (Not A bar. Maybe 15 or 20 beers on any given day). And sometimes there is a little live music. Close up and personal. They play varieties of jazduring the day and mix it up with personal play lists now and then. If you're like me you want to just stay in the 1st cool looking place that will put you up. So take a peek here 1st y'all!

It's such a chill atmosphere with friendly staff and a crazy fire show in the evening.

Good vibe, good vibe. But little cleanliness and bad smells (I think of the pipes). Uncomfortable beds. Yes, the staff was very friendly.

An excellent hostel with two kitchen, free coffee, lots of hammocks and comfy chairs to relax, lovely staff and comfortable rooms with AC. Really enjoyed our stay here!

During my stay at Pura Vida hostel I had a great time, not only because of the great location but also thanks to the amazing staff. I met people there that I won't forget. There's a great atmosphere in there. I want to thank all of the people that works there for keeping the place in great conditions :). I can't wait to come back.

The best hostel that I have been to so far. Loved our stay!

I've gone back twice and loved it both times, if you have a little more budget spring for the air conditioned private room as I do whenever in Tamarindo the staff is amazingly accommodating and friendly and when in the area it's the only place I stay. The kitchens are both well stocked, the hammocks are comfy and the live music and shows are amazing.

A large Hostel, with public areas very nice and very good atmosphere. Notably, the friendliness of its owners, always ready to help with any questions or problems. There are numerous live performances several nights a week of very good quality.
Surfboards and bicycles they have to be able to be used by you guests.

Owner who speak french.
Remember to book before coming.

This place rules!
Don't pass it up if you're looking for an affordable place with a great staff and tons to do! Free bikes, free surfboards, free entertainment and food! Why wouldn't you?

One of the best hostels I've stayed at in my lifetime. Their crew is run by fun, outgoing people who set up events and offer great suggestions. There is even a tree full of monkeys in the back and a few bicycles you can use for leisure to roam around the city.

Thomas runs a great hostel. An awesome refuge from the dusty streets and the heat.

Fun place to stay while traveling in Tamarindo. Good people run this hostel.
