I loved my stay there. Staff are great, the food is great… you have to try the Ika Mata, our room was a nice place to relax. I'm not sure if the resort can control the weather but the weather was amazing too. Definitely recommend the Edgewater to everyone. Rarotonga is amazing. Go to the Muri night market and the Saturday Punanga Nui market, while you're there visit Clive at his tattoo studio Polynesian Tattoo for a bit of ink.

The most friendliest staff, I have ever experienced. Authentic decor at restaurant and pool area. Other guests, all friendly and no fuss type of people. Rooms a bit dated but that does not matter. The only gripe: noise from chickens and roosters all night.

Staying here for 3 nights now. Fan does not work. Air con cannt turn on, toilet not flush, beach is not so nice. One good thing is only nice garden. If you are a keen gardener, Should visit. Otherwise stay away.

I got married and honeymooned here in 2013 and loved everything about it! Including the email correspondence to plan my big day! 5 stars! Will be back next year with our 2 children to show them where mum and dad wed and for my sister in law to get married here as she loved so much at our wedding! Cannot recommend enough!

Underpriced for what you get. Literally snorkel right next to your room. Everything is is spacious and open, clean and relaxed. The hotel restaurant is a bit mismatched — limited times, no room service etc. Had to go get food from elsewhere. If they fixed that — it'd be a brilliant experience all round.

Bit behind its time. Quite old and run down in parts. Needs a bit more TLC. Rooms are nice and spacious, does need better beds and the room should be cleaned and sheets replace everyday, we only had our towels and rubbish changed. Also could do with two breakfast venues as it can get really busy and squashed. Apart from all of this the staff are all lovely and the food is really nice, great outdoor entertainment everyday.

Don't wait. Just go. Island time in style. Gorgeous place with fabulous location and views to die for. Awesome snorkeling and food and entertainment. Make it your base while you explore. May be older yet it's the best for what I like.

Great family resort. Handy to everything. Bus stop at the door. Older resort but has everything you need. Beautiful spot. Fish bowl cocktails are a must to try. Spaghetti house restaurant at the road entrance does fantastic Italian and is very child friendly.

Good value for money if you compare to the other resorts on the island. Fantastic location, we loved being able to walk straight out of the restaurant, onto the beach and into the water where the marine life was awesome. Staff fairly laid back as you'd expect on the Cook Islands but super friendly.

The Edgewater was an amazing place to stay, awesome people and fabulous food and drinks. Loved the whole experience there, even the chickens.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Edgewater Resort. All the staff were/are really friendly and helpful. The accommodation was nice and very comfortable. And most importantly of all the bar staff knew how to make a proper drink. I would like to give a shout out to my friend Tui who made sure that I was never without a drink in my hand.

My partner and I stayed here for a wedding a few weeks back. For the most part, the staff were super lovely, a big shout out to Tui and Eleanor (sorry if the spelling is wrong) for absolutely awesome service for the entirety of our stay, great people who knew how to have a laugh and provide excellent service. My favourite part of the stay was the super convenient snorkeling right out front of the bar and restaurant, super beautiful and by far one of the best things I've ever done. The rooms were fine, bed was super comfortable and we were incredibly grateful for the air conditioning as the humidity is crazy. The local bus picks up from reception so it was super easy to get around. My only drawback was the price of the Wi-Fi. I understand that the island isn't as accessible as the rest of the world but it was fairly overpriced. All in all, a really great time was had. Thanks for having us!

Malisimo. I don't recommend it at all. Old and dirty facilities. Poor breakfast.

We were greeted with a welcome smile and had somebody show us to our room. It was beautifully presented and very clean. The view was perfect too, right on the beach. We knew that this was going to be a great stay. I had organized a SIM card for my mobile because I didn't want to pay the higher rates at the hotel, but that would be my only advise really, to use a spare phone with a local SIM and hotspot from that. The hotel activities were good too, after breakfast there was always plenty to do and see. The lagoon has plenty of fish that the staff take bread down to so you can see all the activity. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

The Edgewater Resort and Spa is the best Resort like Hotel you'd ever been to. It's like living in a world of paradise. They have an Activities Hut, where you can do many activities like Snorkeling, Coconut husking, Crab hunting with a Crab Race, learn a Rarotongan Dance, learn how to tie Sarongs and climbing up coconut tree's. The Happy Hour is at the bar there and they sell amazing, but my favorite cocktails and beer. They also have a pool, games room and tennis court. They are massive about their Church, Cook Island Shows, markets and their Glass Bottom Boat snorkeling. I would highly recommend Rarotonga to you, with the best Night Club Rehab with their yum yums Vodka and Coke.

Edgewater Rarotonga is a great place for a family holiday especially with the large 3 bedroom villas. On the beach. Great snorkeling. Fantastic food and great service. Island night entertainment great and the buffet dinner excellent. Only downside was the AC not able to cool the villa much and some much needed maintenance required. Got our nails done which was good. The lady working there great — the man was a bit grumpy. A wonderful family time. Thanks.

It is a bit dated, and the air conditioning unit did not cool down our whole villa, but with such a large group (11) the 2 villas we had gave us everything we needed. Great snorkeling in front of the Resort, but the snorkeling gear there wasn't great so bring your own. Staff were mostly very friendly, with special mention to Eleanor who really looked after our family! Our dishwasher didn't always work well either, but we never let the staff know that so it wasn't a huge burden.

We found it had the best snorkeling on the island The food at the resort was good and the island night was an awesome experience. The buffet food was the best we had all had in a long time, the curry was spot on, the roast was perfect. Desert was superb. I wish I could have more.

Good location and great swimming right in front of the resort. Dinner dance show is good as a tourist activity. Staff very much on island time though and you need to ask for things rather than assuming. Biggest disappointment turning up to find the pool being worked on at the world's slowest pace and no mention when booking or discounts offered. I would pay extra and stay somewhere a bit nicer next time. But for a cheap cheerful holiday with a family this is a good option. Would give a higher rating if pool was actually functioning.

Beautiful resort with very friendly staff. A lot of facilities and activities for young and old alike. A wide range of rooms available that suits your budget. Rental company just next door for convenience. Beautiful bar beach and restaurant. Kids play area. Feels like a pampered home away from home.

Great spot to come with a young family. Swimming pool is much better than the other reviews suggested. Sure the place is a little bit rundown but for the price it’s a complete bargain and our whole family had a wonderful time. The beach is just a few steps from the pool area. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful.

Came here in a group of seven for my best friends ten year anniversary! I am currently in my bed listening to the waves. It is a beautiful place. I had read reviews about "rude staff" but I have seen nothing but nice, friendly staff who genuinely seem happy to be working here and can have a laugh. I shared a triple room which was two single beds and a double. It was very comfy and tidy. We also got upgraded to a superior garden room (306) which meant when we walked out we could see the pool and the ocean. Will definitely be back here! Would recommend hiring a car. The lady in the bookings room at the resort was friendly and made it easy. Thanks again guys, very relaxing trip!

This place is huge and our room is quite dated. It is more like a cubicle than a room. Shower still has a hot water and a cold water tap — both of which have different knobs. Dining is quite comfortable and reasonable selection. Lovely views when in the restaurant/bar area. Our block is right at the very rear of the complex so no views. Snorkelling wise this is the best we have experienced this trip and water very clear.

Great hospitality, friendly and helpful staff~~ Free activities all the time: fish feeding, hat making, ukelele lesson, head garland making etc… Complimentary breakfast with tropical fresh fruit and coconut cream porridge was my favorite~ Alot of space in the room… Beach is right outside, with free snorkeling gear and beach towel. I just love you can jump into the lagoon anytime for a snorkel, its like an aquarium~~ There are 2 restaurant at the resort, both good and reasonable priced. Also a couple of restaurants at walking distance.

Part of a packaged deal we booked. It was an amazing deal and so might be skewing my score a bit higher than he should be. A bit of dated place but it is literally on the water… So great location. Very friendly staff too. It is also extremely convenient as the local bus drives through the resort. Makes things very easy for getting around the island. Also has car/bike rental on site. Food was pretty good. Local beers available which is a plus. Our room wasn't great but we weren't spending much time there and as I mentioned we got a steal on the deal.

My family and I stayed in the Villa's. Edge water is definitely a place I would recommend and come and stay again. It is family friendly, the staff are amazing, food is good, lots to do for the kids also not far from town. Already planning our next holiday.

Spent our honey moon there. Would go again. But will only stay in rooms with beach front view. Always something to do. Great bar n restaurant. Great service!

You pay for what you get. Good accommodation for the money you spend.

This was one of the most best adventure in my life! If you can you should go here! It was beautiful and everything was so GOOD and perfect. I can't write down how good it was!

Great time the service was brilliant the people were lovely. The kids loved it. Some of the rooms need upgrading but you are hardly even your room anyway. Great time will be returning again.

Alex and I had a wonderful holiday at the Edgewater Resort and Spa. Not only did we have a relaxing holiday but we also had a fabulous wedding. We couldn't falt either of the experiences. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything went smoothly. We both would like to thank Amelia and her co workers for all their help to make our day special. We stayed here for a family wedding, there was a large group of us. On arrival at our room, we found it clean, well appointed with everything we needed. Sadly the bed was very hard. The air conditioning unit didn't work but once we alerted reception, there was a serviceman sent immediately and a completely new unit installed while we were out for the afternoon. We attended the island night feast and show which was wonderful. I also attended the raw fish making class which was excellent entertainment. The free continental breakfast buffet was well appointed as well. The only grumble I would have would be the cocktail hour drinks do take along time to come, so order two or three in succession if you don't want to wait for ages. There are a few more mature wait staff that need to get smiles back on their faces also. Or maybe retire! all in all, we had a wonderful stay and I would stay again in a room with a balcony next time tho.

Absolutely love staying at the Edgewater. Some of the best snorkelling on the island right outside. Lovely food and staff. Been here 5 times, would happily come another 5.

Peaceful. Lovely beach. Great staff. Only negative is price of internet. $50 for 500mb.
