Panela Hostel Hostel

Nice place, friendly people and nice decorating. Will recommend!

We were booked in for 4 nights but left after the 1st. We booked a private room which consisted of a bed and that was it — no tables/chairs or anything. The room itself looked like Harry Potters bedroom, like they had decided to turn a cleaners cupboard under the stairs into a private room. There was no toilet paper in the communal toilets and the bathrooms were rather dirty. But the deciding factor to leave (and check into an amazing Air Bnb that was cheaper than our room) was the fact that our room was pretty much in the outside communal and kitchen area. There was no noise restrictions and we were separated from our bedroom and the social room by a thin wall. After minimal sleep the first night we decided we couldn't endure 4 nights of no sleep and asked for a refund, which to their credit they did provide and the lady at reception was very lovely to deal with. So to summarise wouldn't recommend this place, but do appreciate them accommodating our refund request.

Rooms were pretty cramped, but facilities were clean. Bar upstairs was very social with a great view of the city. Close to nightlife and not a bad walk from the beach.

Great for the price. A little bit creepy but the attendance are such a charm.

Very loud, dirty, they don't even give you any blanket, the staff is not really efficient.

I like this hostel, it is cheap and the staff are accomodating. However I need a nice toilet. And the mens toilet at this place is like a club toilet. And not a fancy club, like an underground techno club. I heard the girls toilet is fine though.

Very nice according to the price. The. Nice populated area, not dangerous, I recommend Medellin and this hostel, lo. Only ugly is that our room had no window and the sheets Estban dirty, the rest OK.

A very beautiful place with a great location, their prices are very competitive and their staff is always very attentive. A highly recommended place for travellers and adventurous young people.

Their service is excellent, it is comfortable and very cozy, it has very good location.

First the owner walked me to Panela Hostel 1 where I was turned away because there was no staff and hence nobody was able to check me in (? ). I therefore booked Panela Hostel 2 saying I'd come later in the night and got told it's all good as reception is 24/24. Showed up at 3am with all my stuff and the hostel was literally turned off with doors locked and no one in the reception + phone turned off. I returned the day after explaining the situation and the owner wouldn't answer his phone. All I got from staff was my money back and 'que pena! '. This goes beyond irresponsible as it's impossible to find a new place to stay at 3am and I was lucky I could crash at my office space but can't imagine what would've happened to a tourist who's new in town.

Excellent hostel. It has excellent places of recreation and relaxation. It also sells excellent quality coffee and some drinks with liquor.

Nice place to stay in Medellin to be able to get some sleep. Close to all the bar and restaurants but a bit out of the main streets.

Private room was right next to noisy hostel courtyard. Room was not sound proof at all. Although the place is in a party neighbourhood. The noise from other hotel guests in the courtyard was too loud to sleep. Especially very late at night.

Loved this hostel! The kitchen is a little small and messy, but this is because of guests being irresponsible. The staff are awesome and the beds are comfortable. Also, there are lockers built beneath the beds for your bags, which is genius.

I loved it! Very friendly staff. The place is close to everything you need. A few blocks from the park lleras and the park el poblado. Decent Wi-Fi and a nice kitchen to cook in. (Needs a bit more things to use to cook tho) Overall I would definitely come back here if I come back to medellin.
