It was a good experience living there with my friends for a trip.
The hotel looks as good as the pictures, but there was a really annoing electric noise in our room, my wife and I woke up with headache due to it. The people are very nice, but don't expect much english beyond the reception/order a taxi/checkout flowchart; besides the waiters tend to do what everybody does in China, laugh at you in front of you, something wich is not very welcome in a five star hotel.

I absolutely loved The East Hotel! It had friendly staff, great food, and the rooms are kept clean, tidy and have almost everything! The rooms were quite big and spacious, and have a lovely view. I would definitely come back if I went to Hangzhou again.
