Ok hotel. The hallway was a little smelly on some days. One of the reasons I stayed here this time was for the indian food at the breakfast buffet which was just about ok… nothing special. Other than that people were super friendly and it's at a great location to see things around. TV picture quality was bad surprisingly.

The hotel is lovely and modern. Breakfast buffet has a great variety of options. The staff is really on point and polite with helpful suggestions and English speaking ability for the foreign traveler.

This is my first stay at a Four Seasons and I've heard about how luxurious these hotels are and this meets and then some. The lobby layout beautifully appointed and easy to get around. The staff are always very cordial and attentive. The room I stayed in was roomy with a full size bath, L couch lounging area and a desk. Room lighting was good once you figure out that switch controls what light. Panoramic views of the Shanghai cityscape are fine when not too overcast.

Does not live up to the Four Seasons Name. Booked through Amex Platinum for complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was great — — they even had a chef on-site to cook eggs how you like. Great assortment of fruit, cereal, and hot dishes. Wi-Fi allowed me to use YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, without a block. Celebrations: One of the best pedicures I've ever had — — so detailed! Good spa experience; very cool massage rooms and attentive massage therapists. Large Suites Welcoming doormen, great Housekeeping: they even came in the afternoon to replace flowers in the room. Awesome amenities — — L'occitane products in bathroom. Good location, near Metro line and shopping. Concerns: Maintenance and overall care for the hotel. This property is aging fast. Dirty, ragged carpets, very outdated furniture that had visible wear and stains. The rooms seem aged and dated overall.

Good experience at this luxury hotel. Good location, with close proximity to public transport, food, and shopping. Other accommodation can be found around the area for a cheaper price, however.

Love the hot chocolate at Angelina's. It's ¥ + but so worth it. English speaking is good. Pasty chef can be a bit arrogant but I took him on anyways.

Nice hotel in a good location. The rooms are large and in good condition. Breakfast is served on the ground floor and the selection is small for the western section, Chinese section has more choice. The standard of service is not quite as good as other properties in the region but they are trying.

The location is in the center of city. Got good service from hotel staffs. But, the security person needs a better training with manner. You can find fast food in walking distance. Dollar by dollar, you can find better deal in nearby area.

Decent place… Affordable given the location… One suggestion… Buy your water bottles outside… These guys will charge you 10x the price… You'd be paying more for your water than for your food…

I have been coming several times in the past to Shanghai but never before to the Four Seasons Downtown this is my first time and I was very impressed:
— staff outstanding, they very carefull to even small details, which often may a big difference;
— amazing buffet breakfast with all my favourite choices even the freshly squeed juices of vegetables;
— overall very good value for money.
As Arny used to say in Terminator… I will be back…

I travel to Shanghai a few times a year and have been going for many years for business. I love the hotel and the employees are great. My favorite is Walter who I believe is the Director of rooms. He just knows exactly how to cater to the guests. He has even waited for me at the front door when I arrive to check in. None of the staff ever forget my name and they remember me by name every time I am back and they see me. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention Amy from the Concierge level club. Just amazing. Food is great overall and Restaurants are great. The hotel was recently renovated and looks amazing. In this hotel, if you ask for something once, they remember for your next trip and they ask YOU if you want/need it. I wouldn't ever stay in another hotel. Ever!

Outdated facilities, and modified the new building can be, but this price than la!
