The great Wall of China is different from the city wall, you can't cycle here. The reason is simple it is build on hills. There is area very steep to climb, while certain area are flat. Suggest to take the North cable car as it is more tower to visit, take the south pulled train if you want the place for your own (less crowded). Ensure you will get view from both side, as it is beautiful from either side. The section open to public is well maintained. You need to get here early, as the train is always full, both way. You might be standing in the train to bada ling, S2 line.

Easiest to get to, most visited and crowded section of the Great Wall outside Beijing. You can take a cheap coach bus here for less than a dollar. Recommended to get here very early (first wave), and also pay extra to take the rail up to save you some time and energy, the stairs are very steep. Also take some time to visit the lower walls where they are no people.

Visiting Great wall of China was the best part of my trip to China. I visited this historical place in the month of July. Climate was good on that particular day with little drizzle throughout. That made our visit a pleasant one. I went there along with 2 of my office colleagues. As they are from Beijing, everything on the trip went as planned.

Went in the winter. Less crowded for sure! I did prepare well for the cold. Luckily, it was a sunny day and not very windy. There were no foliage in the surrounding mountains but the scenery is still amazingly beautiful.

Very convenient with buses or subway. Great view up there. I empfele you to go in all seasons. But in the summer I would say, too hot. However, the risk of slipping is too great in winter. In spring and autumn it is rather best. You just have to be careful not to go on 1.10 — 7.10, as you will have almost all your holidays.

One of the few monuments I have visited which lived up to expectations. An amazing experience which words cannot do justice to. Just make sure you take non-slip, comfortable walking shoes because you will be walking up and down slopes at extreme angles. It will take about an hour from Peking by Didi (Uber) or you can take a bus too from near Tiananmen Square.

For a first contact with the Great Wall, I was blown away by the show! Even though in Badaling there has been a lot of renovation, it does not remove anything from the grandiosité of the place. But you have to come very early if you want a little privacy! At 9:45 it goes again but an hour later, it's crowded for info I was there in early October, it was 10deg in the morning with a little wind.

This is the point closest to Beijing to visit the Great Wall, taking into account the dimensions, more than 7000km, maybe that is why it is the best preserved and most attractive for my taste. It has a funicular to climb up to a high point of the wall, facilitating the ascent. Allows for great tours of the wall, not without a great effort in some sections.

Great thing. Great entry to visit the wall. Tourist hotspot. There's even a subway. Very quickly accessible from Beijing. About 1 hour by bus.

This was an exhilarating experience! Please don't attempt unless you are physically fit enough and aren't afraid of heights… Do not underestimate how steep it is and at times the air can be really dry… Other than the obvious this is an amazing opportunity and the history behind it makes it worth the climb! Oh and you get a really cool trinket (not free) a gold medallion for making it up… they will engrave your name and date on it… there's also a souvenir book and photo to document the climb At the wall there are lots of souvenir shops, cafes and a buffet.

Stretch of the Great Wall far too touristy. So many people that we hardly advance, in the middle of summer with the warmth, the visit quickly becomes unbearable.
Prefer a bit more remote, you will appreciate this picturesque place more.

The day we went was during the middle of summer vacation here. It was CRAZY busy. We took the train out which was really inexpensive! We took the 887 bus back which only took 45 mins. We didn't have a guide which caused us to miss the bobsled down. If there's a way you can get a local to purchase your tickets up the cable car, you will save over $10/ticket. We did the long loop through Tower 12 which took us about 90 mins. It is a hard hike but gets you out of the crowds. This area of the wall has been completely reconstructed. You don't get to see really any crumbling walls.

This is the most fascinating place in Beijing. You need good pair of joggers to have a comfortable hiking here.

Ideal venue for experiencing The Great Wall close to Bejing. Easy access for the whole family with lots to see and do.

Majestic. This is not the preferred sector of the wall, because there are many people always.

We took the 877 bus to the Great Wall. We bought tickets and went in. It was pretty smooth. We walked for a while; when we went back we ate lunch and caught the 877 bus back. We were pretty much in front of the line, so no problem. I saw lots of buses labeled 877, so I was not worried. Our 877 bus was designed for a different route, so the announcements were wrong :-).

The reason for the low rating was especially the bad logistics organization at the Great Wall. We made the visit on a weekday because on the weekends it is more crowded. We first tried going there with the train S2 but when we arrived at the station all tickets were sold out and the counter was closed. We then decided to take the bus 919. After driving one hour we got caught in a traffic jam and stuck there for another hour and half. The last 5 km we decided to walk. Arriving at the Great Wall there where no problems. There was quite busy but you could walk easily. We went south and north. Maybe the south way was better because not so crowded. After finishing the visit we went back to the bus station where a large crowd of people were already waiting. Because they sell you the tickets when you entering the bus and not later, it took 5-7 minutes to people got into the bus and the bus departed. After waiting almost 2 hours in a line some decided to skip the line so you can imagine there reaction of the people. At 9 pm we caught one of the last busses and after one and half hour drive we arrived in Beijing. And all this on a not very crowded day. Because it is the Great Wall we would still go again there but we would choose another location for visiting and not Badaling.

A surreal experience, the wall goes on far beyond what the eye can see. I went on a day after it had rained so there was a blue sky. Make sure to pack lots of water. And have lots of time because I walked for 6 hours. The vertical rise is over half a mile so prepair for a climb and oddly shaped stairs. There is only one shop near the top so make sure to bring everything you will need.

Well worth a go, feel people and more

I took the train (line S2) and it was surprisingly easy and cheap. The views are amazing and yo can walk for miles along the wall. Amazing experience.

Badaling is located in Beijing Yanqing County within the near juyongguan pass, a mountain peak, the highest point 1015 meters. Located in Beijing Northwest. Badaling is the most famous it the Great Wall of China. It is the China open, the earliest section of the Great Wall, is also by far the THE PROTECTION OF BEST and most famous period of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. Its a viable part of the total length of 3741 meters.

Badaling Great Wall is the world's eight wonders of the, the particular spectacular magnificent, beautiful scenery, Great Wall, the best preserved of the period, visitors are also much more special.

Avoid the big queues! Come early.

Many wall sights, the comparison of the typical, the development of a Mature one. The”Great Wall”of the Ho language is

One of the closest to Beijing and populated sections of the wall. In summer, crowds of people and is not overcrowded. A good cable car. You can go an hour, and can walk a little longer. Down in the warm the better pipe on a sort of wagon, children and adults will love.

The section of the Great Wall at Badaling is located approximately 60 km from Beijing (in the north direction) and is very easy to reach via the highway. This famous building is over 6, 000 km long and was developed in the present form during the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644). It was supposed to repel attacks by the Mongols from the north. There are two ways to climb the Great Wall: in a westerly direction it is very steep and slightly flatter in the eastern direction. The Chinese also go this way. We have been contacted by many Chinese to be available as a "long nose model" for the group photo.

A wonder of the world, exercise tiring but it's great, it must do absolutely.
