The customer service at Oak Bay Beach Hotel, from the first phone call, through our entire stay and when we regretfully said goodbye to the doorman was OUTSTANDING! Every person was exceptionally friendly and professional! The cleaning staff, the pool attendants, room service, front desk and reservations were unbelievably friendly, welcoming, helpful and cheerful. The staff really made us feel welcome. The only suggestion for families is children cannot use the pool so it's probably not the best place for families. But if you are looking for some quiet adult time, this is the place in Victoria with the best outdoor pool!

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay here the past three days and nights as he had work in Oak Bay. My husband’s client booked us into this amazing hotel. Blissfully quiet and the pool/hot tub was so awesome. Staff here are respectful and friendly, we definitely want to return. We were offered a room upgrade with a amazing view and it was like a amazing apartment, we could definitely live in it permanently. The opportunity for my husband to be able to soak in the pool/hot tubs after a hard days work was perfect. Something we wish we had available to us daily. 😎 This hotel is top notch!

I truthfully can’t say enough about this magical spot. I stayed here on a vacation over six years ago from Ontario. The hotel was so classy and breathtaking but at the same time it felt so quaint and cosy. It inspired me to move here. Two days ago I was fortunate enough to ring in my 50th birthday here. The hotel did everything they could to make my milestone birthday an amazing event. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, and to make some extra special memories… this is the place to go ❤️

We had the most amazing time staying at Oak Bay Beach Resort! Our first trip to Victoria and it certainly won’t be our last. Our entire trip was met with absolutely incredible service. Genuinely pleasant moods from every member of the staff we encountered. The grounds are beautifully kept, fresh flowers on every floor, great safety and cleaning measures with covid as well. Overall this was one of our best vacations and it is somewhere we look forward to coming back to! Huge thank you to the staff who made the experience so enjoyable and truly memorable.

We ordered a couple of take out pizza’s from Farros on June 25. While one of pizzas was cooked fine, the margarita pizza was totally burnt and tasted bitter. I had very high hopes from this place, please insure better quality checks. Attaching a pic for reference.

Beautiful hotel, with nightly turn down service. All the staff are super helpful and friendly. They have large soaking tubs in every room. I really enjoyed soaking in it every day. The mineral pool and hot tubs are wonderful, and the view is spectacular.

We loved our 3 day mini retreat! Came here for our 34th Anniversary / my 60th bday treat. The gracious staff upgraded our room to an ocean view suite! What a gift! We were picked up at the Clipper we rode in on, in a beautiful Cadilac Escalade! Thank you Oak Bay Hotel for helping to create a memory we will never forget! And beautiful sunrises right out our window!

My husband and I got married at OBBH earlier this month. While the ceremony site was stunning, we wouldn't recommend having your reception here. There are so many costs/fees that you wouldn't think to look for when booking your wedding. For instance, the corkage fee is an outrageous $35/bottle. The cheapest bottle of wine is $46. The cake cutting fee is $3.50/slice. If you don't get all the rooms in your block booked, you're on the hook for those. We also were not impressed with the customer service we received. Given that we had spent such an exorbitant amount of money to have our wedding at this hotel, we were incredibly disappointed with the attitude we received from the banquet manager. First, our cake cutting experience was extremely sub-par. We had two amazing cakes, but they only cut one. They served TINY slices (seriously, we had TWO cakes — they didn't need to be so small), and not everyone received one (though we paid for everyone to receive a slice). They started serving the cake, coffee and tea while my mom was giving her speech, cutting in front of the podium and loudly asking people if they wanted refreshments. I can understand that they were on a time crunch, but it could have been done in a much more graceful and discreet way as to not distract guests (and the bride and groom! ) from the mother of the bride's very meaningful speech. Finally, the next day, nobody from the hotel told us that there was leftover cake.

The hotel stay was lovely and the room was beautiful. The pool and hot tubs were the highlight for us. The food at the Snug was a huge disappointment with over-cooked, hard fish and chips and a frozen, grey hamburger patty on a bun. Such a let down. We’ll stay at the hotel again but will likely never eat at the Snug. Not worth the cost, unfortunately.

Just got back from a 3 day visit and loved it. I wouldn't say it was kid friendly but that was THE big attraction for me. I've been way too many places with screaming kids. This is a great place to relax and I absolutely loved the fact that they don't allow anyone under 16 access to the pool deck. Kate's is one of the best coffee shops I've been to. The Snug and the Dining Room have wonderful gluten free options. It's in walking distance to the shops on Oak Bay Avenue and the Oak Bay Marina. Their shuttle service saved me when I arrived because the BlackBall Ferry sold me a bus ticket on a day the bus wasn't running. Hope to go again soon.

Fabulous stay in a beautiful boutique suite with an incredible view of the lovely grounds and ocean! The staff, service, amenities and location of this hotel are all unparalleled — this is absolutely my favourite place to visit and stay in Victoria. I love The Snug, their wonderful pub and restaurant with the best deck in Victoria! No question about it, we will be back!

This was always our favourite place to stay and I have always raved to everyone because of the pool. My daughter and I love laying poolside, watching the ocean and swimming. I just tried to book 3 rooms and was informed that children under the age of 16 are no longer allowed in the pool. I’m so disappointed… this is going to hurt your bottom line, I don’t think that a majority expects that a pool at a hotel is an extension of the spa when it is outside and has bar service.

This Hotel is exceptional. The setting is simply beautiful, and the facilities are superb. There are the heated mineral pools around which you can sunbathe whilst being served food and drinks, there is the beautiful dining room and food, and then there are the amazing rooms. The rooms have kitchen facilities, are beautifully furnished, have amazingly comfortable beds and are cleaned and refreshed daily to a very high standard. Oh, and I nearly forgot the views! Thank you, Oak Bay Beach Hotel for a wonderful 8 days!

Make sure if you want to be pampered by their wellness clinic to book well in advance. Can’t show up and get any services. Beautiful views, very clean well manicured rooms and the staff are superb. We will return. Had a wonderful suite, Ocean view.

As a respectful family that has been long time patrons of your hotel we are extremely disappointed in your decision to ban families in your pools as of April 1st. You were our number one choice for many many years but with this decision we won’t be staying with you or suggesting your hotel to family and friends. This is a very poor decision on your part we feel.

The oak bay beach hotel is classy, comfortable and beautiful. The rooms are top shelf and the mineral pools are gorgeous. The snug pub (On site) is very and if you're looking for sushi, the oak bay marina is world class and within waking distance. It doesn't get much more relaxing than this.

Beautiful view and the pool is lovely. Staff needs customer service training and hotel needs to better organize spa procedures. I think this is my first poor review of a place but given my last two visits I felt I had to share my opinion. Both times I left feeling pretty crumby with how we were treated.

Our stay at Oak Bay Beach Hotel was lovely. Pool side bar was great. The views were stunning, and our room was gorgeous! The spa service was excellent. I cannot say enough about this hotel. You will not find better accommodations on Vancouver Island.

3rd time staying here, first time with our kids. This was our first family getaway and simply put, this place is the best. The views, the service, the location, the rooms, the pools, 15 minutes to downtown… Everything is just perfect. We ended up staying an extra night and we all wish we could have stayed a few more. We will be back for sure, and special thank you to Katie who helped us big time at check-in!

Update as of July 14th:
Tina the manager was notified of my post below and gave me a call. She was sincere and kind during her call and assured us she would investigate why our calls weren’t logged or returned. She kindly offered a massage spot and access to their pools that evening. At the spa my friend and I were greeted with sincerity and a complimentary drink and thankfully another cancellation meant we both got massages. Our therapists were lovely and mine even used alo…e as I was sun burnt from the day. The pools had an amazing view that was picturesque at sunset. Unfortunately the bar closed earlier than the pools so my friend missed out on buying another beverage. Also there were children around as it was a hotel and therefore not an especially quiet spa. But otherwise it was a really lovely designed space, it was clean and had nice staff, and we greatly appreciated the response and generosity given the situation. Thank you Tina! Original message:
Unfortunately ignored. My friend and I were hoping to book both massages and pool access. We called and left voicemails multiple days in advance and again two days later with numbers and email addresses but no one returned our calls. We understand if they may have been booked already but would have appreciated a call back to inform us either way. Unable to enjoy the spa service if you can’t book an appointment.

Beautiful hotel with friendly reception staff. No strange odours nor any scents of any sort walking through the lobby, halls to rooms and spa, and within the room itself. Impressive maintenance crew and management to keep the carpeting and premises clean smelling and feeling. Linen smooth as silk without a hint of fuzziness and pristine white. Outdoor tubs and pools provide a great peaceful soak. Room and bathroom amenities were superb and only lacking in toothbrush and toothpaste that many North American hotels seem to not provide… at least they included a bottle of mouthwash and was an easy drive out to purchase them elsewhere. Heated bathroom floors helped to conveniently dry the floors overnight. Will definitely stay at Oak Bay Beach Hotel again the next time I’m in the city as it’s a really quick and easy drive to downtown Victoria. Glad I ended up choosing this hotel over the Empress for my 2 night weekender on the island. Rooms and pools are well represented in the many pictures provided.

We had the pleasure of staying in Oak Bay Beach Hotel for a night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, it's been a while since I've felt this way about a hotel. The outdoor pools were relaxing and the views were AMAZING! Five out of five for hospitality, our room, their food, amenities and view! Would love to go back!

Just fantastic. The Location is unique. Great Rooms. We had a Suite with Bedroom and Living space. Stylishly furnished and very well maintained. Again, the Service was extremely good and the Staff relaxed and helpful. We'll be back at any time. Absolutely recommended.

We had dinner in the Snug sitting on a deck looking out over Discovery and Chatham Islands — beautiful view! The food is above average for pub fare and they serve some nice beers. Nowhere near the ambience and comfort of the original Snug but still quite nice.

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is in a historic and beautiful setting. The views are worth a million dollars. Accommodation is very elegant and comfortable. Walking paths along the ocean are a must to enjoy during your stay. Dining and conference accommodations are first class. Even if you are not staying here it's a must to check out.

Seriously the best hotel in Victoria. Great for locals trying to get away for the weekend. Pools open until midnight (we went in March). We had a nice relaxing weekend. Highly recommended!

I have stayed at this hotel many times and always find the location, the rooms, the staff and the food very good. Although modern it has an old world charm. The location of the swimming pool and 2 hot tubs so close to the ocean is unique.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff in a quiet area of Victoria. About a 10 minute drive to downtown, but the location is very worth being a bit outside of the city centre. The pool, hot tubs and steam room are relaxing and the spa is nice. Pool is warm so can be used year-round.

This waterfront hotel is spectacular in all ways. It is attractive, inviting and offers comfort at every turn. Parking is currently free. Food and beverage offerings are likely to exceed your expectations. The staff are a cut above and very attentive. This hotel is well worth considering if you want to stay at an exceptional Victoria hotel… Check it out.

Fantastic little hotel, friendly staff, complimentary underground parking, who sees that anymore? Beautiful location on the ocean, with several nice amenities. Free concierge trip to Oak Bay Village, very quaint, nice spot for romantic or weekend getaway.

The outdoor heated pool and hot tubs are absolutely incredible. So are the views from this patio. Best to go in the spring and summer months, because they have an outdoor bar where food and drinks are available poolside. You will literally spend hours out on the pool deck. Pretty nice walks into nearby uplands and into beaches along the way. Pretty peaceful at night. Pretty romantic place to stay. We were married nearby at the Royal Victoria golf course, so staying here by the golf course brought back great memories.

I met for breakfast at the Snug, the restaurant just off of the lobby. They seated a table of nine quickly and professionally; at no point in the meal were we left wanting for service. The food was very good, and included some vegan-friendly options (though most resteraunts in Victoria do). The views of the bay through the large windows lining the wall of the restaurant was the cherry on top. An excellent meal. A small disclaimer though: no children allowed.

Amazing place! Great and friendly service. Loved the atmosphere and the complementary Mulled Apple Cider it was amazing! I would highly recommend anyone to stay here when visiting to Victoria, just a heads up you must try their restaurant in this hotel during breakfast, their Garden Hash are to die for.

After an underwhelming experience on a recent visit, the staff at OBBH went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I received the special night we were hoping for. The Dining Room at the Hotel is romantic, warm and welcoming, and the new menu is outstanding. Featuring fresh, seasonal and locally sourced delicacies, there is a tempting option for every taste. I can confidently say that the skill, ingenuity and attention to detail put into the dishes served here is admirable. We were not disappointed with anything we ordered — the steak was cooked perfectly, the crème brulee was absolutely indulgent, and the cocktails were creative. Highly recommend the "Tea-Thyme" for a beautiful fusion of Vodka, Earl Grey tea and fresh thyme. THANK YOU to Cheryl for making our memories of OBBH ones we'll cherish, and also to Michael, our amazing host and server, for ensuring our night was relaxed and enjoyable. Couldn't have asked for a better evening!

I had the pleasure of visiting the hotel as part of a wedding party for photographs. I could instantly see why the hotel was chosen as a venue, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Inside we enjoyed the warmth of the wood accents and the old-world feel, outside the ocean views took our breath away.

This place IS MORALLY And ETHICALLY BANKRUPT… this dungheap of an operation HIRED my husband of 20+ years a professional in kitchens, father of two kids under 8, who then QUIT HIS JOB to work hard at a "great high end place in the Capital City" after meeting with his 2 new bosses… and then he was rewarded with NOT EVEN 1 RETURN PHONE CALL or TEXT about when his start date was! A position was promised to him in 1.5 — 2 weeks after said interview… ANYONE even remotely associated with this "business" should be ashamed to let it have even 1 cent of their $. This place actively disrespects local families!

Service not the best. Servers don't help each other's tables at all. In fact, you can sit for ten minutes without being acknowledged. However, the views are amazing and the food is excellent. Best seafood chowder I've had since Nova Scotia. Bartender is always helpful and smiling.

Tried booking a room for over 4 days, left multiple messages, and received no call back. Called one more time and finally reached someone. Terrible service. Original price quote I was given for a room wasn't correct. There were no more ocean view rooms left because they took so long to reach. Their response was "your messages must have went to the managers office. " So I was glad to know I was being ignored by the manager and that if the manager is away no one checks the managers messages. Very disappointed. I booked elsewhere obviously.

I just have to say. Best hotel the staff here are so kind, considerate and genuine. We have visited here for our second time and I am so happy to have spent the holiday here. My view in my room was to die for. The set up the shower omg the tub so beautiful. Can't say anymore. I love expensive amazing hotels. I am all about high expectation and details to cleanliness and service. They nailed it.

I loved my stay here. Our view was beautiful (we had a boutique suite with partial ocean views), and the suite was large, comfortable, clean, and elegant. The mineral pools/steam room are a fantastic way to relax in the morning. My only complaint is that the gym is far smaller than I expected. While not in the heart of Victoria, the hotel is situated along a beautiful stretch of coastline and downtown is a quick drive away.

For the most part, we had an enjoyable stay at Oak Bay Beach Hotel. Snug Pub had some fantastic food. We ordered Nachos, Calamari, Cobb Salad, and Bacon & Mushroom pizzas the times that we ate there. We enjoyed all the food. The pool was really nice. Kinda weird getting into a hot pool on a hot day tho. The hot tubs were avoided because it was just too hot out to want to sit in. One annoying thing we noticed was that there weren't enough loungers and too many empty chairs with towels left attempting to reserve them. A large party of people took up 3 tables and then took off for over an hour, leaving their belongings to keep the tables reserved. Would've been nice of the pool staff to put those belongings into the bar area after realizing that they had been vacant for such a long time. So many people came to the pool wondering WTF to sit because of this. We had a spa treatment, but the waiting area was not relaxing at all. Doors constantly slamming, the "Spa Professionals" room, aka the laundry room, had a loud banging noise the 20 mins or so we were sitting in there. Wasn't exactly relaxing at all do have the door constantly opening and closing with 'spa professionals' constantly going in and out of that room to get more towels. Not very good planning, IMO. Having to listen to doors slamming and people shuffling in and out of that room didn't exactly get us into any sort of frame of mind of relaxation to prep for our massage. The food was great.

The in laws love the Snug! Good food, good portions, good staff! Big is not necessarily better, a good couples place or fours. As for the hotel, got nothing.

The actual massage part of the spa was great, but the kids splashing in the pools was NOT what I paid for. My impression was that MINERAL POOLS were for relaxation and NOT babysitting… I would rather take my money elsewhere, and not ROMPER ROOM.

Booked my mother in law a body treatment at the Spa and unfortunately it wasn't the experience I had hoped to gift. She enjoyed her seaweed scrub but left the pool due to loud splashing kids. The brochure depicted a very relaxing environment and I wish that I was informed at the time of booking that the pools were kid friendly. Knowing this, I would've chose a spa like the Empress or Tigh na mara where they offer reserved spa pools to ensure a more relaxing atmosphere for spa guests. The Spa manager did reach out and invited my mother in law back to enjoy the pools on a different day. However, I'm disappointed she didn't enjoy her initial visit. Also, the phone set up is very frustrating when trying to contact the spa. On numerous occasions during the week I had to leave voicemails and wait for call backs as I wasn't able to get through. Overall, I wouldn't gift this experience again.

The Oceanside hot tubs and mineral pools with poolside bar really take this hotel a step above other high end places in the greater Victoria area. Very good service without feeling stuffy or pretentious. Worth the high cost.

One of the best places I have ever stayed! Everything you want or need they have. Many places to eat, pools open late, late check out, friendly staff and amazing views! Will be coming back as much as possible.

Slightly disappointed. My girlfriends and I recently booked a night at the hotel for a "staycation". Here were the highlights: We were given a early check in and our room was beautiful, spacious, and well-equipped. The bathroom was perfect, with a double sink, soaker tub, and separate shower. The beds were comfortable and finishings were modern and clean. The lowlights: The poolside service was incredibly inefficient. It took 90 minutes and 2 reminders to receive a glass of wine I ordered… a glass of mediocre wine that I was charged $18 for plus an %18 gratuity. My friends and I had anticipated an afternoon of poolside drinks and relaxation. After waiting so long for our first drink, we didn't bother to order another and ended up going off site for a meal. Also, I had booked a manicure for which I was charged $65. When I arrived, the spa was out of robes and I was given a locker with a broken lock. Also, they don't use gel polish. I wish I had've been informed of this ahead of time or that it was clearly stated on their website. The women's changeroom is very tight on space.

Sub par food in the Snug. Nothing good to say about the food and it is very pricey for bad food. It's too bad, as the location is quite stunning, but the decor of the "Snug" Pub is anything but snug. Rather cold and uninspired for a luxury hotel. The Snug is more like a coffee shop than a pub. The dining-room is dismal and Kate's Cafe has the poorest service and very bad coffee. If they fixed these short-comings, then the hotel might actually have something to offer besides a great location.

An absolutely beautiful location with incredible views. The hotel is extremely well decorated and the rooms are exceptional. The pool is really the crown jewel. A view of the ocean with its nice warm water is a real winter treasure.

Spent our 11th year anniversary here and we loved it! Abraham the Bartender was amazing. The room was very clean, spacious and beautiful. Bathroom has heated floors which I enjoyed and a decent size kitchen that offered everything that you need. Spent our days in beautiful Victoria and finished the nights in the Jacuzzi/Pool with that amazing view over seeing the ocean. We will be back for sure.

Went there last week and ordered Fish and Chips. The service was mediocre from passed experience. The fish batter was bland and tasteless, poorly cooked and very soggy. The Chips gave us heartburn. And the deserts huge and tasteless. What a waste of time and money.

Very Nice! To save my client some money I booked the least expensive room. It overlooks the courtyard entrance so no ocean view. The room is not huge but it is well appointed. The bathroom is quite large with separate shower and tub. I counted eight lights in the bathroom with two on separate dimmers. I love that. Separate thermostats for room and bathroom. I never tip housekeeping unless my room is pristine. I left a tip. Very nice spa and pool area. Pool and hot tubs are available 24/7. You can definitely pay more and get less downtown.

This hotel is absolutely fabulous! With prices skyrocketing these days, the Oak Bak Beach Hotel offers free Wi-Fi, parking, and access to pool, fitness area and spa, in addition to great service, delicious food, and beautiful views. I highly recommend this hotel.

We regularly host our wealth management speaker series events at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel and can say that I have always been extremely happy with the service, amenities, and the food at this hotel. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, high end venue for client or work oriented events.

Hotel only has three vacuums for 100 rooms so dont expect a clean experience while staying here. My wife worked as a housekeeper here until she was fired for telling on her boss. Her boss Wayne Lynch, manager of housekeeping although he was a valet driver at his previous job was taking leftover alcohol that was left in rooms by guests and giving it to an underage houseman who was 17. Not only is the manager of housekeeping incompetent but so are the owners of this hotel who are completely oblivious to the disaster this man is creating in their own hotel. Wake up Mr. And Mrs. Walker you need to have a housekeeping manager who has actually done some cleaning and/or has some managerial experience! THREE STAR HOTEL BUT AT A FIVE STAR PRICE! Sad to see such a legacy going down the crapper. Dont waste your money here just because David Foster was stupid enought to.

As part of my 40th Birthday celebrations, I brought 5 of my closest friends to the Oak Bay Beach Hotel Spa and pools for the afternoon. Bryan — Manager of the Spa — took such impeccable care of us — it was absolutely exceptional. Each of us received a massage and each masseuse was nurturing and perfect in just the ways that we needed them to be. The pool service was excellent and they even served me birthday cake on the deck! Despite the weather being foggy in January, the pools were heated to an absolutely delightful temperature and the only sad part was having to leave. Well Done Bryan and staff of Oak Bay Hotel — Exemplary and Perfect.
