I have been to the King Edward the lay two weekends with two sets of girlfriends. Both for a pre Christmas get away. Had the most amazing time. The staff couldn’t be sweeter or more accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here! Stay at the King Edward and get treated like 👑 Royalty! 5 ⭐️ all the way!

Absolutely wonderful experience! My father is disabled and they went above and beyond with helping us! Especially the front desk, bell hop, and the man that helped my father in transport! Amazing clean rooms, organized everything perfectly, and made sure any requests were made right away! :) I will definitely be returning to stay here again in the future!

Just returned home from a wonderful three night stay at the Omni King Edward Hotel. Staff was very friendly. Our room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. We ate breakfast at Victoria’s twice and dinner at the Consort Bar twice. All was delicious. Location is great. We were able to walk to almost everything we wanted to do. Check in and check out were a breeze. We will definitely stay again the next time we visit Toronto.

High Tea was a wonderful decadent experience. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable!

Only negative, too expensive. $549. A night with a daily parking rate of $55. Is ridiculous.

Built in 1903, this is Toronto's first luxury hotel. Throughout the years, has been a favourite hotel for celebrities, sports stars, politicians, and royalty. It's a gorgeous historical building in the heart of "Old Toronto". Steps away from the King Street subway station. A 15 minute walk from Union Station where you can catch the UP Express train to the airport. And best of all, a 5 minute walk to St. Lawrence Market, named by National Geographic as being one of the best food markets in the world in 2012. I was here for the Sunday brunch. What an amazing spread — with fantastic service.

We had a great time in Omni King Edward in Toronto. The rooms were serviced very quickly each morning. Our overall experience was up with the best we have ever experienced. I would recommend it to anyone. And of course it is situated in the heart of the city, so close to where everything happens. Its a great hotel with the very best of friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed here for a meeting that I was working for an event company. The rooms are very well accommodated, the staff was very nice, happy to help and efficient. The Select service each morning (coffee was my choice) at the front door was superb and the bed was super comfortable. I also was able to take part in the fitness room which had new machines of all types along with a great set of free weights and ab workout balls.

Omni King Edward hosted our wedding a week ago and I can’t sing high enough praise. The experience from start to finish was top notch. The catering manager helped us immensely from the very beginning of booking to the big day. The food was delicious — our guests are still talking about it. Everyone was professional, and kind, and really looked after us and our families on the days leading up to the wedding and the day of to ensure everything went smoothly. Venue is gorgeous. Rooms are clean. We ordered room service to the suites and everyone who we interacted with was so nice. Even checking-out post-wedding staff helped us with flowers, with bags — and with moving our 60lbs cake. I can’t imagine having a nicer wedding spot anywhere else in Toronto. 10/10 would recommend!

I live out of town but work at Yonge and Front so I stay here once a week. The staff are amazingly friendly, the newly renovated rooms are beautiful, and the beds are super comfortable! I've been off work on mat leave and stayed at the hotel last night for the first time in almost a year and they left me a special treat in my room. The little touches of kindness are just one of the things that makes this hotel my favorite.

We were in town for a Blue Jays weekend. The location of the hotel meant we could walk everywhere (Eaton Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame, Roger Centre) including to restaurants. We had the deluxe room with two Queen beds. It was huge. It had a large bathroom and walk in closet. I was able to easily dress in the closet and sneak out for an early morning coffee without waking the rest of the family. A family friendly room for sure! No bathtub but a large shower area where you can easily clean the little ones. A great stay!

I travel for work and stay at the Omni King Edward often. Sometimes as much as two weeks a month. The staff are kind, helpful and always greet you with a smile. There are many reasons why I choose this hotel — it's close to my office, the beds are super comfortable, the perks are great and I love the ambiance. This hotel really wants you to have the best experience. I spent my 40th Birthday away from home, working in Toronto. It can be so lonely and difficult to travel for work. I came back to my room last night and a delicious birthday surprise had been made for me. It's these little moments that really make the difference. I love this hotel.

Excellent service. Call room service and ice delivered in 5 minutes! Dining excellent and upgrade to premiere club was worth it. Ahn and Charlotte provided friendly personalized service. Room renovated with courtesy bath robes, slippers and as requested before check in my extra pillows were on my bed. Valet parking only option ($55). All areas of hotel and dining impeccable. Welcome was excellent and call soon after check in asking if anything needed was great since key cards didnt work for club access so new cards sent up immediately. We certainly felt like Queens for our Mother’s Day visit. This will be our first choice for all downtown stays!

Beware: Lots of extra costs and not really dog-friendly. Be prepared to pay $15 CAD for Wi-Fi that barely functions and if you bring a dog they make you pay $50 CAD extra AND make you sign a contract stating you won’t leave the dog alone in your room for any length of time. What is the point then?!?! For the amount of money you pay + all of the extras you should at least be able to do what you want in your room provided you have a well behaved dog. I stayed at the Omni Parker House in Boston and it was an amazing experience. So far Omni King Edward has been one inconvenience after another. The dog policy is very confusing and misleading. We had already booked and paid extra for the dog when they told us that we still couldn’t leave her in our room. That’s extremely misleading in my opinion. If I had known about this policy before hand I would not have booked us a room here.

This is a big beautiful, classy hotel. Definitely a five-star hotel. Here is the good and the bad: GOOD: Location — near the Billy Airport, near the King station on the Green Line, Near many prominent and important Toronto locations. Lobby — Just wow. Very big, spacious and luxurious, with giant chess pieces placed in the four corners, many "kingly" decorations, large mezzanine balcony that overlooks the lobby from the four cardinal points. Wow. Rooms — Again, Wow. The bathroom alone was larger than many hotel rooms that we have been in. The huge king-sized bed looked small in this room. Very 5-stars. Staff — Very friendly and dedicated. Internet — Very, very fast. And included, of course. Elevators — Very fast! Impressive even. Breakfast quality and service. Excellent. Delicious, with friendly staff. BAD: Front door : It's under construction. O. K. I get it. Things need to be repaired, especially in an old hotel. But they have the entrance covered up with plywood painted a dull grey. It looks like you are entering via the service entrance to a construction site. Hello! Pay a couple of hundred dollars to an artist and embellish it a bit! Concierge: We dealt with two. Very friendly, wanted to help but clueless. I was asking for the address to a major land mark (a prominent museum). He was standing there in front of his computer, but kept trying to guess the cross streets and refer me to the doorman rather than just looking it up and giving me the address.

Fabulous renovations of this hotel. It has been a few years since I have stayed here. They have fully renovated since then. Everything is great. Really enjoyed my stay, aside from a 3:30am fire alarm, which is beyond their control. I will definitely be back. Loved everything—especially the amazing location!

Gorgeous rooms and a lovely sense of luxury. All the usual over-priced amenities like Wi-Fi that you get for free at mid-range hotels. But all this was over-shadowed by the lack of accessibility. This hotel is not welcoming to anyone who uses a walker, wheelchair or stroller. They have put only the most minimal effort into being compliant with accessibility standards. There is only one accessible entrance. You approach the entrance, ring a buzzer, ask for help, and a person has to come open the door and operate a wheelchair lift. The entrance is only a few steps and they can’t be bothered to make it accessible with a ramp? Even getting a luggage cart has to go through this same process because carts cannot come down the stairs. There is a level of meeting rooms with no elevator. The doorway of our room was partly blocked by a piece of furniture so the doorway was narrow. It is 2018. We simply don’t experience this with other hotels anymore. If the hotel values their guests who have mobility needs, they will demonstrate it by joining the 21st century and providing accessibility to all.

The waiters there are super nice, especially to the passengers! What you need help with everything they can do for you, like sightseeing cars, airport buses, coach bookings, they will be very enthusiastic to help you!

I love the restaurants here! I love the atmosphere of this more than century old building. I have stayed here several times between moves and recommend it along with a couple of other fine hotels in Toronto when visitors ask. The staff are well trained and very professional. The rooms are gorgeous!

Central location Perfect Downtown.

We attended afternoon tea here, tea itself was great and the food and service awesome. I had made reservations beforehand for our group, but had forgotten that one of my guests has a allergy. We told them, and they told us they needed 48hrs notice of allergies but would try to accommodate… but then one of the girls made a comment to the other to make a note but that it's not their fault if anything happens. I think this type of comment shouldn't be made in front of customers… we pay a lot for afternoon tea there and kind of expect better customer service than that.

As a event designer who visits this venue regularly, I would say the catering team is wonderful. I also recently stayed at the hotel as a guest with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Staffs at front desk and room service are very attentive. Keep it up, The Omni King Edward Hotel!

Well appointed hotel. Bed was super comfortable and room was very nice. I did find the room dark and lacking natural sunlight. The windows in the room faced a brick wall from the building across the way. Guest services was very helpful and easily accommodated any request. Parking is expensive. Would stay here again.

Loved our stay at the Omni Hotel! It was absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous. We got the Stay and Discover pass so we got breakfast and the two tickets to see the ROM. We loved it and we loved our room. The breakfast was really good. The bathrooms were soooo nice and everyone was very professional and nice. We loved our stay! I will forever be staying at the Omni!

We really enjoyed our stay at King Edward hotel. We booked the deluxe room and was upgrade to a larger corner room. The decoration was very nice especially the giant chest pieces in the front lobby. The staff was very friendly including the bartender. The bed sheets were very comfy and the room was visually cleaned. But there were two complaints, first, the coffee machine in the room was not working properly and I had to reload the coffee pot several times to get the machine going. Second, the vents were really laugh, it sounded like a truck starting beside me. Not very pleasant when you were trying to have a romantic night. Overall, I gave it 4 starts because we like the decor, staff and bar.

Room was decent sized, a bit older could see some cracks in the wall. Soap dried out your hands. Developed a bit of a rash from the overnight sleep (perhaps the pillow/sheets, my skin isn't typically that sensitive. Food was good, not over the top amazing. Service was quite good throughout. Interesting that I needed to walk over and speak to the concierge myself, rather than front desk calling for my valet directly as I checked out. Re: my rash, they offered me a $50 credit for lunch for the inconvenience. It's finally healed up after 2days.

Nice hotel, clean, wonderful beds, very comfortable rooms, great gym.

I've personally stayed at over 21 hotels in the downtown core (Toronto) and while they were all different for various trips, the King Edward is by far the best when you consider all factors (Quality, Service, Comfort, Cost, Amenities, proximity to city centre and hot spots). The lobby is very elegant, great historical touch — the rooms are very posh, recently renovated and give you the feeling that you've been upgraded regardless of which suite you're staying in. The service agents are extremely courteous, very helpful, and almost instantaneous! If you're staying in the downtown core for work or other I recommend this hotel.

Went for Christmas Eve dinner. The hotel and staff were lovely and the food was quite good, but the price is definitely steep for what you get. They were quite stingy with the cut meats stations (tiny single slices) and I was really surprised that they didn't have mashed potatoes and a few of the more traditional holiday fares. The desserts also looked like a few of them came straight from the supermarket. While it was quite nice, it wasn't enough given the price. I probably won't return.

We had a small room facing King St. The amenities were good and the location of the hotel is fantastic. Concierge staff were very helpful in suggesting nearby restaurants that were good for kids AND dietary restrictions. Would definitely stay there again.

A group of four of us went for high tea in the hotel dining room. The service was top notch and professional and all the food was what I'd expect of the most high end tea rooms in England. An excellent experience.

We had a Christmas themed High Tea, and it was fantastic. The selection of high end tea was large, and the sandwiches and desserts were very delicious. The waiter was attentive and thoroughly explained all the selections.

I went to a social without the salon, the employees were very professional.

One of most beautiful hotels we have visited! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed everywhere we went and the hotel was close to many of our destinations, so walking to them was easy. Excellent food. We already are planning our next trip to Toronto and will definitely stay here again.

We had brunch with friends on a Sunday at the ballroom. What a beautiful place. The live music, the food, the staff make it a 5 star brunch. The whole staff were so friendly and kind to guests. Our server was Raja. He served us perfectly with a smile and responded to our wishes promptly. We will definitely come back.

My wife and I attended Afternoon Tea at the King Edward. The server was extremely knowledgeable and was very good at suggesting tea. The sandwiches and pastries were delicious and we left satiated. The staff went above and beyond for my wife, getting her a pillow for her back after seeing her slightly uncomfortable as she is pregnant. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel! Attended a wedding here in the crystal ballroom and it was incredible! I also had a great old fashioned at the bar in the foyer. As a child I used to come here with my whole family for the Sunday brunches and it was always a highlight for us.

Grand, old hotel, good facilities and a pleasant bar. Enjoyed my stay. Concierge booked tickets for a tour to the Niagara Falls as I asked him to do this by email well before arrival. Can do attitude always makes me feel good.

Stayed here the night after our wedding and was blown away by how well the staff treated us and truly made our stay unforgettable. We truly will be loyal Omni guests in the future because of this. A recommended place to stay. There may be newer hotels in the city, but the mix of history, comfort and hospitality is perfect.

Hotel lobby staff were not the friendliest. Especially elevator staff pin pointing certain people and asking for key cards. Hotel otherwise is very clean and nice aesthetically. Rooms were gorgeous and amenities were great. Decent location on King Street. Prestigious hotel, so it is expensive.

Came here for afternoon tea on Saturday. The hotel is stunning, the tea service was great and the dining area was not crowded. We tried the "Traditional Experience" in honour of Canada's 150. All of the food was delicious, and the servers explained each food item thoroughly. The chocolate truffle tea was divine and the peaches and cream tea was fantastic. All in all, it was a lovely experience! would definitely recommend this afternoon tea service over many others in the city. Came here for a special convention and it was amazing. The customer service was exceptional. Choose your room wisely and you will be very happy with the space and cleanliness. Housekeeping was very attentive, desk staff top notch and the restaurant was wonderful. We came in late and the outside attendant was super nice and got us situated in our room comfortably. I can be very hard to please when it comes to hotels but this one met my expectations. The location is excellent for walking to attractions and public transportation. You can park your car in a nearby garage and pick it up at the end of your trip because traffic can be hectic in Toronto. As a side note for pet owners there are convenient green space locations within quick walking distance. You will have a great feeling coming back to this oasis daily. Enjoy.

In mid-May, a few friends and I took part in a beauty pageant. We went to check in early and everything was fine. We went to the big game so we took the luggage with us! When we came back, our baggage had been put in the room, we are very happy here! Two of my best friends, and my boyfriend and I lived in two rooms. We had a meal at the restaurant and it tasted good. It's more like an elegant bar, where we share a lot of apps and see the beauty of King Street …

Over all it is a very nice hotel. The club breakfast was ok nothing spectacular but was included so nice. The room service was excellent and 24/7 so bonus.

Attended a wedding reception here. Main lobby looked awesome with the giant chess pieces. The event staffs were accommodating because we had kids as young as 6 months. A popular place for wedding because we counted another 3 wedding parties going on at the same time either walking through or taking pictures.

Splendid environment, elegant design from the lobby all the way to the rooms, great event space which btw served chicken that wasn't so dry as usual fancy hotels and venues, chefs also very friendly along with all the other staff who were all genuinely happy to work there.

Great wedding venue. The staff are professional and the food is delicious. There is one big downside, the hotel doesn't have their own parking and so you and your guests are stuck trying to find parking elsewhere.

Good food in the restaurant. Comfortable seating and casual enough to carry a good business conversaton.

Had a half day conference with coffee and snack services. Food was very good including the fresh potato chips. Limited parked meant I had to walk from around the block but overall a good experience.

Enjoyed brunch buffet on Sunday. The majority of the items available were excellent and the staff was very attentive. A few items were disappointing, for example the eggs Benedict was very poor even though it was just put out, and thats even making allowances for buffet style meals. The few exceptions would be understandable if not for the $50+ price. All in all though very enjoyable.

Had a room on the second floor that heard a lot of noise from the convention areas. Other than that room was pretty nice and clean. Lobby was nice too. In room Wi-Fi costs way too much — $15 per 24 hours.

We have been here several times now, had to come to Toronto for medical reasons and every time we were treated like family. I wouldn't stay any where else in Toronto. The staff is amazing and caring. I would recommend the King Edward to anyone who asked.

Under the guidance of Omni Hotels the King Edward has been vastly improved. The rooms are modern and the public spaces are well designed and comfortable. The hotel feels like it has finally retained the virtue of its age, while stepping into the modern age of hotels.

I've stayed here once and had a drink in the bar on a separate occastion. Delightful place.

Discriminate against dog owners? Booked 2 rooms, one for my wife and I (and our dog — Boston Terrier) and agreed to the extra $50 per night for the 'deep clean' charge we would have to pay as a result for having a dog. Second room was for our 18 year old daughter, same rate — meant to be the same room type. Wow — my daughters room was at least 50% larger and far nicer! Bring a dog — expect an inferior room. I can only assume that it must be down to being less space = less to 'deep clean'.

The hotel is being refurbished so I'm giving it a bit of latitude. Nice staff and cool decor (both the more classic lobby and the funky rooms). Its in a good location. However you can tell its an old hotel as the rooms feel small. Also there is no view. Seriously you almost don't need windows. Internet is also very slow. Breakfast was good but the service was very slow (especially given it caters to business clientele).

We had brunch at this hotel. My husband plus his 3 siblings. Food was well prepared and pleasantly decorated. It's not the best brunch I've had but definitely one I will come back for.

Requested the bed sheets to be changed, they sent new bed sheets up expecting us to change them ourselves. The night time manager was obnoxious and rude. Considering that we had the premier king luxury suite we expected the service to be on point, but clearly not at this hotel. Do not go here if you expect to be treated right for the money you pay.

The hotel is very nice but some staff are aggressive towards muslims.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff were great and super helpful. My problem is that they don't accept debit card payments. I found that extremely bizarre and very inconvenient.

Most excellent experience.

For an older, upscale Canadian hotel such as this, I can’t help but use the nearby Royal York as a yardstick. In this light, the King Edward shows very well, with a clean and understated look that does not feel one bit dated. My room was very large (again, for a hotel this old), and every detail was perfect. What’s more, a small but notable surprise was found in the closet: laundry starch. For someone like myself who travels a lot, it gets difficult to offer pleasant surprises, and it’s little gestures like this that can make a difference. Service was great; I was checked in quickly, without the usual speech regarding hotel amenities (once it became clear that I was tired and did not care). Well done! 9/10.

Exceptional service and location. Rooms could use a bit of updating (floors uneven, fixtures are old), but very clean and comfortable.

High tea is wonderful. The atmosphere is very professional and elegant. The tea selection is great, and the food tastes amazing even though it comes in tiny portions. Prices are extremely expensive, but of course that is what you would expect from these elegant places. Service can be slow at times, but the waiters/waitresses are very polite.

We stayed at King Eddie 2 years ago for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. I am not sure how many stars it has, but I'd guess it's a 4-star place. Service was excellent. Our room was nice, though not very new. I bet everything was quite lux 10-15 years ago, but now looks a bit outdated. Breakfast was lovely.
