Nice environment and professional service. We have a good experience for company social gathering.

Have been here several times for work and they always treat our group like royalty. Staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and everyone working there seems to be genuinely happy. My only complaint is that you can unfortunately hear all the outside street noise at night no matter what room you have. The obvious downside of being in the heart of downtown. Food and drinks A++

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is quite friendly and accommodating. My son and I had a wonderful time at the pool and the fitness centre attendant Daniel was very polite to my son and I. I highly recommend staying here while visiting Toronto, or even as a nice stay-cation!

Stayed here after our wedding ceremony at city Hall. The hotel made our stay very special. We got a small wedding day gift that we got to enjoy that evening. The staff were very attentive. We enjoyed two massages at the Hammam Spa which were excellent. With our stay we were able to access the health club along with the pool and sauna. All of the facilities and our room were immaculate. I would highly recommend staying here whether you want to spend a night being a tourist in your own city or coming to visit Toronto for the first time.

Went for high tea on a holiday Monday with three friends. Tea is served in the main lobby, which is open and well-appointed. The lineup is fairly solid and very filling, giving you a decent bang for your $75. The piano player chose to perform covers of Super Mario Bros and Zelda before moving over to generic classical music, which was. Interesting. The service is a little slow, but warm. I would recommend this high tea service over the more traditional, stodgier options available at places like the Royal York or the Windsor Arms.

The place is an escort heaven (or hell, depending on how you look at it). It is a very well maintained and professional hotel with a lot of high profile people staying there. Food is absolutely amazing and the sheer variety of drinks will make your head spin (so will the alcohol content). Only one complaint I had as a middle class commoner in there is that every single thing from food to room service is ridiculously expensive. Price to quality ratio is very skewed (which is why I took off one star). Overall though you will have an excellent experience here. Bring a date and enjoy your stay! I will personally will be coming back for sure! And forgot to add. Staff here are very welcoming and friendly, probably the most welcoming staff in all of Toronto.

Never stayed at the hotel but only reviewing their bar and restaurant. The bar is great with a classy decor. They have live bands and a piano as well. The restaurant downstairs has couches and a very chic appearance. Drink items on the menu are innovative and different. Food menu is generic and has most items on it that you find in upscale restaurants.

Great looking bar, attentive staff, Instagram worthy cocktails. Not packed so one can get a seat. Good live music if it's on that night. Great place for a laid back drink. Would recommend for a date or a few friends. Not a party atmosphere, in a good way.

Went to the Shangri-la bar to get drinks with some friends. I really like the atmosphere! There's live music practically every day (we went on a Tuesday) which really sets the mood. Staff were friendly and prompt. It wasn't noisy or overly loud, which made catching up easy for us. Great amenities as well.

What can I say, Amazing service. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms the hotel smells so good. Five stars best of the best. Special thanks to Ryan the concierge that will go above and beyond to make you feel at home.

Last night my girlfriend and I enjoyed an amazing evening at the spa. The pool and sauna were extremely clean with staff always available to assist with whatever we needed. We ended the evening with a deep tissue massage. I can only speak for Kylie (however my friend had a similar response from her own experience) — — it was without a doubt the best massage that I have ever received. Such a fantastic night in a beautiful space with amazing staff. We have already rebooked for next month!

Our stay at the Shangri-La Hotel has been one of the most enjoyable experiences we encountered while in Toronto. My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful weekend filled with elegance and luxury. The environment is very peaceful and comforting. The spa attached to the hotel was a delight and a very nice addition to a long day of sight seeing. The hotel hospitality was exceptional making our visit very memorable. We look forward to visiting again and we recommend the accommodation to anyone seeking tranquility and prestige.

If you are looking for a relaxing afternoon or evening with live music and by the fireplace then this is the right spot. The staff is friendly and well put together. Their outfits are made by Canadian Designers which adds to the luxury of this space. Their High Tea, desert and truffle fries are delicious.

Our experience at the Shangri-La was excellent. Check in was quick and easy. We had high tea in the lounge downstairs which was amazing and had some interesting options for their Chinese New year theme. Cocktails at the bar downstairs were great. Our room itself had everything we needed and calls to room service were answered promptly. Would not hesitate to return again.

I can start off my saying the place is good, nice atmosphere, quiet for a place with live music but loud enough you can carry a conversation without feeling your will burn your throat. It has a fancy vibe to it, which might be nice, especially with a live piano player on Fridays. The food is good too, they have some distinctive menu items. You can get good beer between 7-9 dollars. The cocktail I had, a Caesar, was watered down with a flat tomato flavored water, so we stuck with beer. I am giving it two stars because it feels the prices and the portion/quality doesn’t necessarily match. The service is okay, a bit slow too. The bomb was when my friend ordered her bill for a single cup of tea, that cost her 15 dollars, yes you saw it right, that is a 1 and a 5 for a cup of hot water which is technically free, a small jar of honey and a tea bag. I would mainly recommend going there for a chill lounge atmosphere, but definitely not for the drinks, the cocktails or the food.

We stayed for our anniversary and as expected everything was excellent. Our room was incredible with sunset views, spacious and well equipped for a celebration. We had dinner at Momofuku and ended the night with cocktails and a live show in the lounge. Service is always the thing that brings us back, the staff are amazing. Thanks for a great anniversary!

Relaxing atmosphere. Good quality massage and facial. Very friendly staff. High quality products used for treatments… Next time I wouldn't pay the $25 fee to use the gym/sauna /pool facilities. Not worth it in my opinion.

Loved the beautiful social spaces and elegant decor. Washrooms in the shared spaces were clean and feature touch-free amenities. Staff were professional, and polite. The main floor lounge has great energy to it, and often features live music in the evenings.

Visited the spa for 3 treatments with my husband: body scrub, massages and facials. The staff were welcoming and helpful. All the treatments were amazing. Very skilled workers and super relaxing. We would definitely do it again.

Relaxing tea room for high tea and they space out the seats between customers. Bigger than royal york and Windsor arm tea room. Shangri la has live piano music. During Christmas season they have Christmas theme Hugh tea, with a cocktail and a small item to bring back but cost $10 more than regular high tea.

Marquee hotel at the heart of downtown Toronto. The brand lives up to its name globally and why shouldn't it here. Great location with every amenity nearby. Great staff and rooms are newly renovated. Loved the lounge and restaurant.

Excellent hotel. Great service, great staff and amazing decor. One main issue is the current enforce rule of $45 per person. This rule applies to long term customers and upscale customers. The lobby lounge has dropped in service and quality with the turnover in the lobby management. The reason we go is for the live music in the Lobby and the dancing. Management don't value their long term customer's enjoyment anymore. Only sales. Customers are receiving food without plates and without cutlery in napkins unless you ask. Customers are entitled to get good service.

Very nice atmosphere. I like this hotel over others in the area. If you have time go to the spa! It's always an absolutely amazing experience. The pool is impeccable as well. Also a great place for afternoon tea with friends. High tea however is traditionally what workers would have after a long day of hard labour in Britain. But I guess it's used interchangeably now because it sounds fancier. They even capitalize 'High Tea' lol.

There was a snake in our room! We managed to throw it on the balcony. When we complained to the hotel they said they didn't believe us and asked for proof! I'm not Crocodile Dundee so I can't just grab a snake and take it to the management office. Or sit down and take photos of it while I scream in horror. The way management handled this situation was absolutely horrible. Asking guests for proof and not doing anything about a snake being on their beds! All they did was offer to buy us a drink. Yes because next time there's a reptile in my bed that martini will really come in handy. Shameful.

Went for High Tea. The lobby is the area reserved for it so it's not like a secluded lounge to relax. Though it is indeed very well decorated. The staff was helpful but our waitress was not. Tea and food was ok at best. I would recommend somewhere else if you're planning to converse and relax for high tea.

Everything looked nice and high class. Most employees were helpful but some were a bit sarcastic. Our event had a wristband policy but the bartenders didn't check wristbands at all. Food came out VERY slowly, which made many people leave early. Overall decent experience for me but for many others not so much.

Went for a wedding and the food was delicious! The washrooms were very clean and beautiful. The patio was great, beautiful furniture, nice heaters, and a nice little bar. The staff was exceptionally attentive and very friendly. Overall an adding experience. We wanted through the lounge on the main floor afterwards and wanted to stay longer!

I came here for high tea for my bachelorette party. What a tremendous experience! The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was excellent and they were flexible in working around allergies. The rooftop honey was phenomenal! I couldn't believe how full we all were by the end either. We were seated in the main lobby but we had plenty of privacy and the surroundings are very nice. I would absolutely take tea here again next time I'm in Toronto.

This is a great hotel. Everything about it is delightful, however I have to say that my previous experience at this hotel was much better than this one. The service has slipped a little since I was there last; 2 yrs ago. Last time I arrived in a much less flashy car and from the moment the valet greeted me and took my keys to the moment I left, every single member of the staff I encountered went above and beyond to make sure I knew that they cared about me and my wife having the best experience possible. This time, the restaurant staff, the room service attendant, the front desk agents all did a great job. The hotel is still beautiful, but there are some things that are slipping even with the physical aspect of the hotel. Not much though! It's still a million miles above a four star hotel. I just wish that my experience the second time was better than the first time, instead of the other way around.

The hotel is very well run. Service is 5 star. Beautiful rooms with a gorgeous bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows with electric drapes. Your every need is catered for. The staff are more than helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Pool is really peaceful and relaxing. We couldn't have wished for a more wonderful stay.

My favorite hotel in Toronto. It's luxurious, the spa is fantastic, and it's beautiful from top to bottom, with a fantastic lobby that feels like you've left the city, but the best thing about the Shangri-La Hotel is the staff, who are wonderfully welcoming and professional.

I want to note this rating is not a reflection of the entire hotel or brand but a single isolated experience I had on the evening of May 11, 2016. When I am in town, I make an effort to visit for the Wednesday live music evenings mainly when Errol Fisher and his band perform. The music, food, and drinks are fantastic as Shangri-La is a premium lounge. Yesterday evening, I was there to see Errol with a female companion. Everything in the evening was going well until we went outside to have a cigarette in the designated area. There we were approached by three individuals coming from the lounge who clearly were on high on some form of narcotics. They inappropriately began touching my companion and myself. I asked that he keep his hands to himself and we walked away to avoid confrontation. I went back into the lounge to settle my bill and upon walking out to my car out front, one of those three individuals physically harass me. Because I did not wish to cause a scene in front of my female companion, I continued walking and drove her home. I returned to the hotel afterwards to speak to a manager about the matter. Instead I spoke to two security doorman who asked for my personal information. I'm disappointed with two aspects to this: 1. I visit the Shangri-La to avoid non-sense patrons who are inebriated and under the influence. 2. No action was taken other than them mentioning they will take a look at the video, and I was not reassured of anything.

Once you've experienced 'The Shang' you can't stay anywhere else. The magic starts when you walk in the doors. The smell, the music, the lounge, the fireplaces. It's groovy.

Came here for afternoon high tea, our server was very attentive. The high tea was held in the lobby lounge area so we were seated on comfortable sofas at a pretty coffee table. The high tea menu served a variety of finger sandwiches, scones and petits fours. I would have to say the sandwiches were acceptable, but paled in comparison to the petits fours. The fruit desserts were unique, flavours dancing on the tightrope between tart and sweet. The Valhrona chocolate mousse was rich, smoothe and creamy while maintaining a musky dark cocoa fullness. If you are driving, anticipate a $19 valet parking fee. Price per person starts at $42 (you can upgrade to a champagne option). Tea is not included in the menu and is ordered separately starting at $15/pot.

Parking was chaotic. Could have been better. Not enough valets moving the cars around.

The Shangri-La was unforgettable. The service was warm and friendly and knowledgeable. The food was not only visually appetizing but absolutely delectable. The suite had a warm atmosphere and the natural elements of the Garden Suite were carried throughout the room. It was a stay that I will never forget! Thank you Shangri-La Toronto!

Everything about this hotel is amazing. They go to almost any length to make sure you're satisfied with your stay. I recommend this hotel to everybody I know without hesitation.

Shangri-La is located on University Ave, in an area just close to Financial District, Downtown Toronto. The rooms are luxurious and the service is great! The gym is well equipped and there’s also an indoor pool. The lobby coffee area is filled with music & fireplace. Free Wi-Fi.

Wanted to go to the BOSK patio for a a quick drink and a snack after going to the spa upstairs but was told that the patio was closed for the season. So we ended up at the Lobby Lounge in the Shangri-La. There were many people there for high tea which is a little surprising see that it was a weekday. But I guess Black Friday crowds were pampering themselves after a hard day of shopping! The Lounge is beautiful. It looks like a really large living room straight out of a designer magazine. With high ceilings, beautiful large black and white paintings that span the height of two floors, and a large fireplace that spans the width of two long tables, the area is spacious and homey at the same time. We were seated right in front of the Italian handcrafted Fazioli piano and had a first row seat to witness the pianist play old classics while we were having our drinks and picking away at our charcuterie platter. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

A very good experience. It was my very first experience at a 5 star "top of the line" hotel, I could only afford too stay 2 nights but it was well worth it too save my money for this special occasion!

Its an awesome hotel. The hallways smell like happiness the lights, a/c and curtans are controlled via an app on the iPad in the room the staff are chill, and the decor of the rooms are very nice. The only thing I would change if I were them is the app on the iPad kind of sucks.
