This hotel is normally around $150 per night but because there was a concert near it doubled in price. I understand supply and demand but that's not cool. The rooms were basic, not the cleanest, bed was hard. Front desk was nice. Won't be staying again.

We had a suite, it was nice room, clean. The pool had no towels but if you ask the front desk they will give some. Small pool but good for little kids. No laps. Breakfast was good, limited fruit and other fresh options.

The staff are what makes this place. They are attentive, willing to help, kind and friendly. I stayed for 6 days and had zero issues. The hotel itself is clean. The room was great. Mattress was great! Loved the tub. Air-conditioning was AWESOME. Breakfast was good. It's a basic hotel, but clean, affordable, and amazing staff. I would stay there again.

Location is amazing, many restaurants and shopping around the hotel! Few bars that are close as well if you wanted to drink and not drive. Service at the hotel was great, nothing bad happened and they were accommodating. Even calling us to make sure we were on our way since we were checking in at a later time in the night. We had a suite, it was large and had all the normal acommodies. My only complaint is that the halls and rooms need an update, looks like maybe an old school or hospital. Also the room needed to be painted and touched up. However that is just my personal opinion, the night was great, with no complaints!

Clean, comfortable rooms that are well appointed. The motel is close to a major highway with an easy on off. Aslo close to a large number of restaurants and shopping. The free breakfast is better than most.

I received good service from the front desk staff and they were helpful when I needed to extend my stay. The room was good. Very good value for the money.

Room was nice. The front desk ran out of casino coupons kinda disappointed. When I booked they didn't tell me I HAD to pay for the room before 4 pm or lose the room. If they had told me that before it would have made my stay less stressful at the beginning. The hotel was clean and breakfast was top notch!

Great hotel, staff were very nice. I haven't had breakfast yet, will update later about that. Pool is not very big but efficient. Would definitely come back. Update: Breakfast was included in our package and was served buffet style. There was a nice assortment of dishes from fresh Belgium waffles, eggs, sausage to cereal for the kids. Juice and tea and coffee.

Hotel is clean and quiet and staff are friendly. Independent air control in the room, which I love because I hate sleeping in a bedroom which is too warm. Not a fancy place but certainly a great place to rest your head for the night.

This 4 storey hotel is a good basic place to stay in Barrie. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. A well-appointed lobby with helpful staff and a good breakfast. This hotel is pet-friendly.

Overall Good hotel. I have no complaints. Good selection for breakfast; they offered omelette, sausage, waffles, juice, tea and coffee. I also utilized their treadmill and unfortunately didn't have time to swim in their pool.

Service is great. Pool area was not good and rooms needed work. Reasonably priced and good location.

So my boyfriend and myself stayed at the super8. The staff were nice the rooms were clean. However when booking a room the staff might want to tell people that there is a hockey tournament going on and that the teams are staying at there hotel. Parents also need to keep control of there kids. We had children running up and down the hallway knocking on doors and waking people up. When we got moved to a different room we were told that there were no teams staying on that floor. (not true). Then Sunday morning we went down for breakfast. Sitting there eating and this woman brings her dog to the table with her let it run around begging for food from different people and the feeds it breakfast food. Then the staff that look after the breakfast part of it. She sticks her hands in the garbage and pushes it down with her hands. Then doesn't wash her hands and starts handling food.

In the course of renovation work. Not brand new, but a good place for a good night on the road. Good insulation.

Just what I wanted for a short family skiing trip to the area — — an inexpensive, clean room near Highway 400 that also serves a free breakfast. Pool and sauna were bonuses. It enabled us to get to Mount St Louis at opening without having to wake up extra early to drive from Toronto.

Slightly more affordable than other similar hotels in the area but rooms were small. Pool was also only 4ft deep throughout. Staff was good. Nothing else to complain about. Was clean and comfy with all amenities and Continental breakfast.

Staff was helpful with booking the room. The room was a really good size. Clean and what you would expect from a Super 8. The only downside is the bed was extra extra firm.

So the pool is 3 feet deep and the hot tub was warm, if you're going to stay here try to get the jacuzzi room, it's better than the hot tub in the pool room. The gym has 4 exercise machines, 2 treadmills, and 2 ellipticals. Plus side, the location is close to a few good surrounding restaurants and bars. Also the staff are really accommodating. And the beds aren't super great but hey it's a super 8 and you probably booked this for like 75 bucks.

Perfect for our needs and reasonable price.

A great place to stay, with fast, friendly check in willing to accommodate you if you have to tweak your dates (due to weather, we came a day early made a quick call ahead). Location is key to this property, restaurants and shopping are within walking distance to accommodate families or couples on the night out… no need to drive. 2 minutes of the major highway makes it easy for first timers to the property. Indoor pool and hot tub along with a gym gives you time to relax or work out. Hot and cold breakfast is served in the morning, as well, a small fridge and coffee maker are provided in the room. Rooms were clean and modern. Modern artwork throughout the location. We were there before Christmas and the hotel was completely decorated and made you feel at home. Stayed for 3 days, and would stay again the next time in Barrie.

We stayed in the family suite. The kids had bunk beds with Harry Potter sheets so they were super happy. The room was clean and the hotel has quiet hrs after 10pm. So it was quiet for sleeping. We would definitely book a room here again.

Hubby and I were looking for a weekend staycation since we couldn't get away for a holiday — Super 8 Barrie was great! We had the king executive suite with a king bed, fireplace and jacuzzi. We were close to stores for shopping, a good variety of restaurants and of course, the LCBO. Staff was super friendly and accommodating with early check-in and late check-out. The cost of the room was cheaper than competitors and the room was equal, if not better. We've stayed in a few different jacuzzi suites but loved this one the most! We will definitely be back!

Our room was dirty. We found cereal in the bunk beds… And we didn't bring it. The sheets were obviously not changed (I. E. Boogers). And to top our visit off we woke up to find that someone, staying inside the hotel, shot a pellet gun at our vehicle from an upper floor room window. We had to call the police and file a report. Now we are stuck paying for a new windshield and paint job. No help from the hotel in this matter what so ever. Extremely disappointed. This hotel sucks.

Great stay, room was very comfy and clean. It was our first time staying in a suite, felt very comfortable. Breakfast wss great, loved the fact there was hot chocolate, made my morning.

This was a nice hotel. The front desk staff were courteous and welcoming, and the breakfast was pretty good! The room was adequate, the bed was comfy, and the shower was nice. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but it's a Super 8: a solid 8/10. We would stay here again!

Super 8 is very clean and friendly. We had no problem finding the room. Was very impressed with the room and staying there in the future will be a must.

We've stayed here a few times and have always been treated like royalty. Our room was well stocked and clean. Every staff member we've encountered has been incredibly nice, especially Jessie at the front desk.

Excellent! Nice, clean and spacious rooms. Queen-sized bed very comfortable. We stayed in the accessible suite, which had a walk-in shower with a bath bench. The towels were plentiful as were the toiletries-everything we asked for readily given. The breakfast area has plenty of seating and there was more than enough food — even during the last hour of breakfast being served. The vending machines in the first floor hallway were in good working order and well stocked. Front desk staff extremely friendly, polite and knowledgeable. For some reason my Wyndham points number was not sent with my reservation and without hesitation my account number was added and points credited to my account in less than 24 hours. An express check-out final receipt was under our door by 6 a. M. Which was greatly appreciated. Location has to be one of the best in Barrie… very close to the 400 with several restaurants and shopping opportunities close by — even with mobility issues I was able to walk to many of them. Cannot comment on the pool other than it was very busy most of the time and no one seemed to have any complaint. Luggage trolleys greatly appreciated as was the comfortable and welcoming lobby with it's loveseats and sofa.

Price reasonable, clean room and Wi-Fi/free swimming pool!

We stayed over a weekend and everything was great. All staff was wonderful (housekeepers, desk attendants, breakfast staff) and our room was clean. Location was great and in close proximity to many food and shopping locations (~2 minute drive from almost everything). The only con was the indoor pool seemed to have a bit too much chlorine in the water but wasn't uncomfortable to swim in.

The rooms could do with an update. And bath towels too could use a updating as well. They were a little like sand paper. But these two things would not stop us from returning. The convenience of the location and the amenities within walking distance. Friendly service. We were surprised by the complimentary breakfast that was available in the lobby, was actually good.

The room is surprisingly nice for the price. It's a far stretch from a luxury hotel but you will definitely get a good bang for your buck. The staff is friendly and useful. Overall I'll give it 4 stars, it has it's purpose and it does it well.

The room is good… The pool is really not hollow! 3 Foot It's not great. But otherwise it is good. Breakfast is ok egg, sausage, bagel, toast, Philadelphia cream, jam, cereal, waffle, coffee, orange juice and apple, apple.

Don't believe anything they say about making customers first, this motel only cares about the money — if you deserve any refund — you won't see a nickel of it. the noise in this motel is unbearable, and we left. They did not refund our money despite the fact that we did not stay there the night. Nor did they return my calls to discuss the matter. Beware of this motel if you want a decent nights sleep, children running around at night in the halls, hockey teams partying… if you have a legit complaint they will only insult you with 30% discounts. This motel is all bout the dollar and nothing more… update, after a great deal of work, I received a refund in two payments by cheque through the head office.

We stayed in the "biggest" jacuzzi suite. Checked in around 11 at night. Ordered pizza and went to bed. When we woke in the morning our room was covered in ants. There was a trail of ants from the carpet to window. Also all around the big jacuzzi tub we paid extra to have. The pizza that was left on the counter on the counter in the room was also covered in ants. We packed up quite quick in the am and left. The lady at front counter told me because we paid cash the manager would have to contact me back. Never once have I gotten any reply to my stay… I highly recommend stay anywhwre else in barrie.

The free breakfast was better than I thought it would be. However I had to get new towels because one of them in my room had hair on it that wasn't my own. But they replaced the towels before I returned to my room.

FIND ANOTHER HOTEL NOW! Terrible hospitality service due to poor management and front desk employees. Booked a nights stay then complained 3 times about the noise complaint in the hallway of kids/adults being loud. Front desk did nothing so we packed and left. We did not get a refund due to no manager was on duty. Reading other reviews it seems like this manager doesn't work at all and gets their employees to do everything poorly or loved one. So please do not rent from here it needs to know they are doing things wrong and scamming others for their money even if you don't stay the night and they offer you a refund of another stay and never stick to their word. Poor service Rude employees This place needs to be closed or under new supervision.

It was a great stay. Came in late and we had great service from the cute front counter girl. She told abouts and err ting.

I booked a reservation and cancelled it because my car broke down, so I called them the same day and cancelled it they said they ok we have cancelled the reservation and I was happy until I found out they still took my money and I've been calling for 3 weeks every day to talk to the manager and they didn't let me talk to him so they scammed me and never gave back my money. And to make it even better they hung up the phone on me almost every time I called.

First time we EVER asked for a refund and left to go stay elsewhere in Barrie. Kids running up and down the halls, floor to floor. Playing hockey in the hallways. Tolerated it for 4 hours even asking the kids to please stop running in the halls. Neighbors across the hall were complaining also. They took over all 4 floors. Complained to the front desk and nothing was done. Went to the front desk and had them look at the video screen of the hallway cameras showing them what was going on. Still did nothing. Asked to speak to the manager and was told she was unavailable. Told them we were leaving and asked for a refund. The girls at the desk had no authority to give refunds and still refused to contact manager. Booked another hotel and left. Got a call about an hour later with an apology and a refund. Too little too late. Huge inconvenience for us. Will never stay there again.

Me and my three kids spent the night and had the family suite. It was quite comfortable. The staff was really nice and breakfast was wonderful.

Clean rooms. Had a larger room with living room and separate bedroom which was great. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

I stayed at the Super 8 Barrie for 1 night from December 14, 2015 to December 15, 2015. I found the staff very welcoming, courteous, and friendly. The room I stayed in was very clean and greatly exceeded my expectations. For the price I paid, around 75+tax, I got a refrigerator and a microwave. TV had a great selection. The breakfast was complimentary as well.

The room was not very clean. The breakfast was mediocre. The milk pitcher was so filthy it was disgusting. The only fruit available was shrivelled up apples. The girl working the breakfast area definitely did not like her job. Only great thing, front desk staff was very pleasant.

One star only for: nice front staff young girl, relaxed payment and deposit for last minute one night stay, coupons for restaurants, quick service for check in, complimentary breakfast (not that good though but it's something), pretty landscaping, and it was a place to sleep for a few hours with air conditioning. Missing four stars for: rude check out staff in morning, some sort of stain in corner of first room that appeared to be wine (clearly had been no attempt to clean it) but who knows it could have been blood, hair on pillow case, and hair in shower… wow… we were given another room which I inspected meticulously and decided it was good enough. I will not return however. This was satisfactory because we (boyfriend and I) had just ran out of the Howard Johnson Express Inn, also in Barrie (see review if you dare).

I arrived at the hotel to attend a family wedding. My family and I where greeted by a very rude receptionist who informed us they where short staff and she was doing double duty I can understand that happens everywhere! We where told our cash receipt would be put under our door thought that was odd but never received one even odder! Then it came to check out same receptionist was there commenting ' must of been a good wedding all you smell is alcohol around here' uncalled for! positive rooms where clean and cleaning staff friendly always a smile! breakfast was welcoming! my 81 year old uncle had fallen at the reception and was transported to local hospital by ems.

My new husband and I were sent on our military house hunting trip literally hours following our wedding, with no time to make arrangements. Upon flying in from Alberta, the staff at the Super 8 instantly welcomed us and made sure we were comfortable for the duration of our stay. But beyond that, every morning on our way out they wished us luck on our house hunt and every evening upon returning they asked us how it went. When we found a house, they celebrated with us and helped us make sure we got all of our paperwork where it needed to go. Then they helped me print out my resumes for a final day of job hunting. Are the rooms nice? Absolutely. However, many hotels have nice rooms. It was irrefutably the staff that made this stay as enjoyable as it was. While we now have a beautiful home in Angus, we will definitely look for any excuse to return! Thank you again to the staff at Super 8, who were the first to welcome us to our new Ontario home! Slightly better than the holiday inn. The breakfast was not good enough for health conscious people. And this is the reason we chose this hotel. Room was clean, and central.

Spent a night there with friends, got two rooms next to each other. Booking was very easy and staff was incredibly helpful. Their rates are also reasonable, rooms were also nice and clean. Would definitely go there again and recommend this place.

I have only stayed in a handful of hotels in my life. But they have ranged from 3-star spits to 5-star pretty things in Toronto. Super 8 in Barrie is, by far, the best hotel I have ever been too. I just went to treat myself for a weekend and it really was a treat. I got a Queen room with the hot tub in the room. The room was lovely, warm and cozy with comfortable furniture and a nice layout. The bed was on the firm side, but that's actually what I prefer to sleep on so it was perfect for me. The best part, however, was the staff. Every one of them was amazing: courteous, helpfull, polite. They even let me leave some bags in the hotel on the day of my check out so I could go shopping. The continental breakfast was great: lots of choices available. The tiny muffins were my favourite but the waffles were to die for. Sure, the pool is not big in any sense, but it's the perfect size for younger kids to play together, throw a ball around and such. And there my not be a restaurant in the actual hotel but there is an East Side Mario's right next to it where you can get a special discount for being a Super 8 customer. Overall, it was a wonderfull, relaxing visit and I WILL be going again.
