A hidden gem in Nova Scotian wilderness, Trout Point Lodge is unique in so many ways that only experiencing it can do justice. Riverside hot tub, exquisite food, world-class service, our stay was not long enough! We will surely be coming back.

A hidden gem in the wildness of Nova Scotia. Cozy rooms, wonderful fireplaces. Great food and staff. Wood fired hot tub. Hreat place to kaysk and paddle board, lotd of trails and wonderful starry nights.

One of the most amazing resorts with the absolute best gourmet food that can be found in Nova Scotia. A must visit!

The staff was amazing, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The room was spacious and comfortable. Loved having a wood stove in the room. All of the food was exceptional. We will definitely be returning.

Attentive, friendly staff add that little extra which helps put this unique hotel into a class of its own. I stayed at the delightful Beaver Hall, a beautiful scenic 10 minute walk from the main lodge or a quick drive by owner Patrick, only too happy to be my personal Uber! Patrick with wife Pamela, are welcoming and gracious; nothing is too much trouble. They have every reason to be proud of this Canadian lodge style hotel. The quality of every meal was excellent however dinners were exceptional. Visiting in Fall was spectacular. I loved my stay.

The moment we walked into reception, we were greeted warmly, & welcomed with a glass of wine. Our bags were automatically taken from our car to our room. Within 10 minutes, we were in our provided bathrobes &. Slippers & enjoying the outdoor hot tub & sauna beside the river. The food is absolutely exemplary. Fantastic Attentiveness from staff throughout our stay. Enjoy the fire pit at night while reclining in your chair & looking up at the stars between the branches. Our masseuse, Caitlin, provided excellent in-room massages. The very knowlageable Remi, brought us star gazing one unforgettable night. The owners, Patrick & Pamela were most warm, & welcoming. No TV in rooms. No phone. Perfect! Just you & nature ❤️

Beautiful place! The service was fantastic and the food was incredible. The grounds around the lodge, the amenities, the rooms and the lodge itself were lovely. Very peaceful spot for a wonderful, relaxing getaway!

Time travel to a luxurious log building offering beautifully curated foraged (& other local) foods… add in activities such as forest bathing, star gazing, a sauna and hot tub. Or just sit and stare by day at the running river, at night a fire to conjure stories of times past.

I had a wonderful 3 night stay at TPL, and the October timing was perfect because the autumn leaves were out and the river was full. Fantastic accommodation, outdoor activities, dinner and wine!

My wife and I stayed two nights at Trout Point Lodge and wish we’d have stayed longer!
We were late to check-in (we got stuck in rain and taking photos on the side of the highway.

Such a great, remote retreat. Luxury meets rugged. Enjoyed the space, outdoor activities, food and service. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here twice with our family. We love it so much. It’s a great place to unplug with wonderful views. Plenty of things to do, kayaks are available, little trails, bikes, river swimming and the most wonderful hot tub are all included. The dinner was so delicious and we enjoyed a cooking class the next day by their wonderful team. The staff are incredibly accommodating and we would recommend a visit here, definitely worth it.

Amazing Star gazing great service.

Service is impeccable, and service is what makes or breaks a hotel for me. That combined with nice clean rooms, great food (and beautifully presented food) and a scenic area is what warrants a definite 5-star review for me.

We stayed at the Lake Lodge for the last two days of our honeymoon. It was exceptional in every way and we will return as often as possible. The ownership and staff could not have been finer. The natural splendor is everywhere and our time was way too short but totally memorable. My advice. Go and Relax!

Be very careful with your reservation. Things like hot tub and hikes cost extra. You might get over charged once you get there and are stuck. Make sure the price agreed upon in advance actually the price you will be billed.

We spent two nights at Trout Point Lodge. It is in the middle of nowhere, mostly unplugged from the world. We stayed in a tree house junior suite, it was wonderful. We took walks, drank wine and beer with other guests in the great room and adjacent porch. We went into the hot tub and sauna that are placed alongside a stream. We really felt like we unplugged, loved it. The food is excellent. I liked breakfast and lunch. Dinner from a guys perspective is too fancy, not enough, and over priced. Thanks for the experience.

Amazing experience! Just came back from my honeymoon and it was beyond what ws ever expected. The level of service was much more than we are used to, so our time there was very enjoyable. We stayed in the forrest room which is a fireplace Jr. Suite. We highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway. Thanks to the amazing staff we felt like royalty. Thank you!

Location was amazing, rooms were clean, staff worked very hard but there was a noticeable lack of management oversight and attention to detail.

Trout Point surpassed any other hotel or inn on our recent travels. The room was extremely spacious, beautifully appointed and decorated, with river views and lots of light. Service personnel were friendly and helpful, from giving a glass of refreshing wine to carry our luggage to the room, and valet parking the car. The food was amazing — world class, in fact. We really enjoyed the extensive wine list as well, and the wine waiter was very helpful in making selections every night. There is live music before dinner, and great cocktails. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. We would recommend coming in via Carleton and Kemptville. We departed on Hwy 203 towards Shelburne but would choose the same way we came in were we to do it again.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the lodge for two nights. The staff is friendly and the rooms suit the remote location and stay true to a cozy wilderness feel. There is a wood fired hot tub right along the river making for spectacular views while soaking. The lodge also offers massage services, guided tours and yoga as well as live jazz every night before dinner. I did not partake in any adventures since I decided to read a book out on the patio instead. The food was also delicious, but just be aware that it is not included in your room rate and some may find the all inclusive option quite expensive especially since there is also an 18% service charge on top of everything.

Great place, spent 7 days with my husband. We enjoyed great food, service, and accommodations! Great base for exploring southwest Nova Scotia!

Just got home from our NS trip. Trout Point Lodge was the highlight. We spent 4 nights here and loved it. The scenery, the food, the staff, the stargazing were all exceptional. Highly recommend.

Completely overpriced! Student auxiliary staff although very little but professional. The self-built Seating are uncomfortable, and in places occurs even tree resin. The food quality is below the average German factory canteens. Not recommended since the price — performance ratio is completely unacceptable.

Stay 3 nights in the Blackbear room. It over looks the river. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place. Quiet and relaxing. The food is beyond great, the dinners and breakfast are super. I highly recommend this place for all kinds of activities, hiking, kayaking, swimming, etc.

The most beautiful place on earth with the best staff. Swimming and kayaking in the river along with stargazing were our favourite bits.

Overall our experience at the hotel was top notch. Staff was very attentive to guests needs made every effort to service all requests. In all, we had a wonderful time at the Trout Point Lodge. We loved our room, the wonderful fireplace that the staff always kept warm, the riverside hot tub, the delicious food, and the serene location. It was very relaxing. Surrounding landscape and eco-systems were very conducive to a relaxed stress-free atmosphere. Amenities provided for biking, kayaking, nature hikes or simply relaxing provided guest with many options to enjoy the experience.

This Lodge in the wilderness provided a much-needed respite, a place to de-stress and de-tox, with gourmet food to boot. Meals were sumptuous affairs — inventively using local ingredients and layers of flavour. Chez la Tousquet provided a truly elegant environment for enjoying outstanding cuisine and wine. The owner even made specific wine pairing suggestions for each dinner. From check-in to check-out all the employees provided top-notch, friendly, non-stuffy service.

Friends from Zurich recommended Trout Point for our Nova Scotia vacation. We booked just 3 nights and should have stayed much longer. It was the perfect nature respite. Cuisine was outstanding — — by far the best we had in the province. Lots to do outdoors, including at night with the great star gazing!

I only had one night at this fantastic wilderness lodge, but will be returning. The food was fantastic — 5 course dinner was delicious, perfectly timed, and not too heavy. There are limited choices, but everything was great. I got in an early morning kayak and then had a soak in the hot tub by the river. The room was comfortable with lots of space.
