Took my family here and the views from the pictures don’t do justice. It’s just breathtaking got up each morning to watch the sunrise and made sure to catch the sunset too. My son who’s autistic has been having a blast an has so much to roam around freely, even my dog loves it here. I’m dreading going back home an already trying to book in a few weeks. Safe to say this will be our new vacation spot.

Shame on Lonnie Sea Parrot Ocean View Manor/Resort/Cottages/B&B. Their housekeeper/groundskeeper had a heart attack on the weekend and was rushed to hospital. After suffering a heart attack and having a heart operation at Sydney Hospital, Lonnie texted him and fired him immediately, telling him to "come get his stuff, it has all been packed for you". These people are NOT the people you want to stay with for your holiday!

Very nice and spacious accommodation. Full kitchen facilities. Pet friendly. Provides beautiful views. Sunrises over the water in front of our cottage.

There are some fun unconventional accommodations here, (e. G. A converted boat, RV etc). The owner is very nice and we enjoyed the two days we stayed there.

Owner is around way to much, she made you feel as if she didnt trust her guests, she watches everything you do. Heaven forbid you poke the fire, or move the bench closer to the fire to roast Marshmallows or Weiners. Had more negative comments rather then make us feel welcomed. I did not find her very friendly… Very u fortunate as it's a beautiful spot and the cottages are very clean… We didnt pay the amount we did for a babysitter… I wont be back and don't recommend you going either.

We stayed here because of the rave reviews, and while the view was very nice, I just don't get it. Only the travel trailer was available, but as it was right on the ocean, I was willing to give it a try. Despite all of the reviews talking about breakfast, that was not available to us? We had to cook our own food or go out, and I wasn't allowed to use the oven because it almost blew up the trailer once, according to the owner. The hot tub on the ocean was something I was really looking forward to, but the chlorine was so strong it made my eyes sting as if I was cutting onions. It was nice to have books and movies available in the main house, but there were 8 small dogs to wade through if you wanted to peruse the selection. I wanted to walk on the beach, but the seaweed was so built up (not raked and burned to prevent the rotting smell) that it was impossible. I loved this area, but I would not return to this hotel.

I can’t forget the inside smell of wet dog on the linen, or the rotting seaweed that permeated the outdoors. I kept pining for febreeze for the interior and a rake for the neglected beach. But when the owner entered our room without knocking I knew we’d never be back. Kept feeling like they were trying too hard to compensate for their exhaustion. I feel bad posting this, but the whole point of these reviews is to help one another and hopefully encourage positive changes.

An eclectic mix of different suites to stay right by the ocean. This is an ideal place to spend a few days and relax in the hammocks, hot tub and sauna. A beautiful location to enjoy the ocean and get away from it all.

Spent 4 wonderful nights. It was amazing. The view. The water. Lonnie and ger husband were do inviting and very helpful. It was clean and quiet. Perfect for the family vacation we needed.

Our host was amazing and full of information on the beaches and things to do in the area.

Was promised a room, even talked to owner prior and she promised/confirmed I’d get it. Upon arrival the lady was aggressive and said someone else wanted it and had reserved it… I’d get another room. I just happen to have an email showing I was promised it. The rest of my visit was horrible, she was mean and rude. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I thought that night would never end. Room was tacky. The billing was none other than weird! I would totally never recommend anyone staying here. I stayed at some lovely friendly places on that trip, this has stayed in my mind, in a very bad way and I wanted to flag to others — much nicer, friendly places than this horrible place.

We stayed in the trailer on the ocean front. It was cozy, quiet and clean. The property is very well maintained and the owners are very friendly. We only stayed one night so we didn't have the "full experience" but would definitely reccomend.

The location is amazing, and the structure in general very well kept. Breakfast was plentiful and good, and the area is quiet and peaceful. We stayed on the boat, which is a different experience, and not as convenient as a proper room — as you would imagine! To be mentioned that the boat door doesn't lock from the outside, so when you're out the 'room' stays open.

The accommodations were good; nice cottages, nice hot tubs, nice view of the ocean, etc. The owners on the other hand were absolutely horrible. Our week stay started off with one of the owners losing her mind because we were cooking mussels… which we would have been able to get over… Day two of our stay was eventful. We started the day without any running water. When we approached the owners about the issue, we were immediately cursed out and blamed. We hadn't even been there for 24 hours yet at this point and had used little to no water at all. We then decided to go to the Ingonish beach for the day. While we were gone, the owners went through our cottages without our permission. They thought we had all left. Luckily, a few of us stayed behind and caught them in the act. They then tried to cover up what they were doing and proceeded to curse us out again for telling them they cannot go through our things. We were without water the entire week and when we asked them what the plan was for returning water to the cottages or acquiring bottled water, they simply told us they were not going to do anything about it. Almost every day there was an incident with the owners… either they'd be mad we didn't shower before going in the hot tub (without running water…? ) or claiming we had too many people in our cottages, which we did not, or blaming whatever it was on their mind at the time on us. It was extremely unpleasant and I hope they smarten up as owners.

The Sea Parrot is a combination of a hotel, a B&B, and a cottage all in one. The rooms are in a separate building so you have more privacy, but you go to the main house for breakfast which is prepared by the owner. I wish the beds were more comfortable, but the ocean view from the balcony is fantastic. You choose your breakfast the night before and the time you'll be having it, the owner prepares it in the morning, and you enjoy it on the patio with an ocean view. If you're looking for luxury, or for someone to do your bed every morning, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a decent place on the Cabot trail, with amazing view… you're at the right place.

Our family and our friends family stayed here for five nights. It was a wonderful staging area for exploring Cape Breton Island! Our hosts were very gracious, and so helpful! They told us all the sights we needed to see, and how to spend our time most wisely. The hospitality was great, we have had access to all of their many amenities. Highly recommend!

The location was relaxing, the cottages were spotless. Loved everything about it.

Until recently we lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, about 5 hours by car from Sea Parrot. My wife and I stayed there several times and we plan to come back again whenever we visit Nova Scotia. The rooms are clean and spacious. Hosts Lonnie and Roy are friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful spot right on the Atlantic. Lots of people use this as a base for exploring Cape Breton. I prefer to hang out on the shore while reading a good book, swinging in a hammock, or splashing around in the hot tub. And there's free wireless Internet. Did I mention the satellite TV in every room? Or the cooking facilities? Or the gas BBQ's all over the place? It doesn't get much better than this.

Well The Place is beautiful, comfy places to stay in close to everything. Great to start exploring the cabot trail because it starts from the very first part of it. Every thing you need is there, dishes, towels, hair dryer, extra blankets, tv, internet wireless, hot tub out side ovean view like I said every thing you could pretty much ask for. However I was a little disappointed at the way we were treated, it made us feel very uncomfortable. There are certain spots you can and cant do things. Ie; Dont smoke near cottages for respect of others which is 100 % acceptable but when someone keeps comming around (kinda sneaky) to make sure its really weird or they just keep comming by and saying oh remember to do this and remember to do that it gets quite annoying and makes a 35 year old women and a 43 year old man feel like they are being treated like a child. We were quiet respectful kept to ourselves so there was really no need for it. Even the people who stayed next to us said they felt like children because the owner would keep dropping by or comming out of nowhere (really strange) I dont know if its cause we look young or what but even still you shouldnt judge someone by the way they look age appearence or anything right? Paying that much money I would think one would have more privacy and not feel like they were being watched like a bunch of children.

Beautiful spot and cozy accommodations. Warm and welcoming, a perfect place to rest after a day of sightseeing! Will definitely visit again. ;).

We love the Sea Parrot. Drinking your morning coffee sitting in the hot tub watching the seals play in the ocean = heaven.
