Super 8 by Wyndham Windsor NS

Don't! 283.00$ in October for a room that is stuck in the 80's. Popcorn surface stained walls. Nasty stains on the carpet everywhere. The bathroom was cringe… Definitely drive a little further. We've been to 3 other hotels in Nova Scotia this week, all under 170.00$ and clean. Never again!

Unexpected Gem in Windsor, A Super 8 That Overdelivers.
We ended up at the Super 8 in Windsor because every room in the Valley was booked for the Irish Dance competition. Expectations were low, it’s a Super 8, right? But what we found was a hotel that punches way above its weight.
Cindy at the front desk deserves a medal. Working the night shift, cheerful, and genuinely kind. She made our tired little family feel like we’d arrived somewhere that cared. Every room attendant smiled and said hello. That kind of warmth can’t be trained; it’s culture. The breakfast attendant? Maybe not having their best morning… but hey, we’ve all been there.
The room was spotless and smartly laid out. The kids hit jackpot with their bunk bed hideaway: Instant adventure. Beds were comfy, sheets fresh, and it felt like someone had actually checked the details.
The pool and slide were a hit, not for Olympic training (shallow and smaller), but perfect for giggles and splashes after a long competition day.
Breakfast was classic road-trip fuel: hot, fresh, and just right for a family on the go. No truffle omelets or Michelin ambitions, and that’s totally fine. It did the job, and did it well.
Sure, there’s a little peeling paint in the pool area and carpets that have lived a few stories, but as someone who’s stayed in hotels all over the world this place is solid. Clean, friendly, and functional.
The only head-scratcher? The price. You’re paying Halifax city rates in Windsor, which feels off.

Called and booked a room and had to call back 30 minutes later and cancel. I was told I would not get a refund and if I wanted to pursue the matter call Wyndham head office, which I did they told me to call Hotel Beds, which I did and they told me to call the hotel. One big useless loop.
When I reviewed the hotel confirmation email, in tiny print at the bottom was a note saying I had refused Refund Protection. At no time was this policy ever discussed with me and why on earth would I refuse something like that.
Can't comment on the hotel because I never stayed there nor will I be in the future.

Hotel and staff really helpful and nice…. 5 or so kilometers from cute town…. Only downfall…. No real view but the parking lot.
Close to a Superstore that was awesome for reloading on picnic meals!

Front desk employee was easily frustrated, confusing and completely unwilling to offer aid to us as customers. Room had cobwebs and dried pee by the toilet. Fridge didn’t work. Pool was clean and slide was neat. The cost was outrageous for this hotel all things considered.

The hotel is conveniently located near the highway. It appears to be relatively new and is well kept up. The hotel in general and the room in particular were clean and in good shape. The breakfast was good, the room was quiet and spacious, and the beds nearly too comfortable to get out of. The water slide was a nice surprise. We would stay here again.

Positive: Staff Negative: Musty smell of the room;Water damage as you enter the bathroom possible mold;Not enough light in the room.

We had an excellent stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is also a pet friendly hotel with lots of outdoor green areas for the dogs. The rooms might be a little outdated but the staff made up for any shortcomings.

I am an employee of Wyndham hotels and I have managed the hotels but this is the worst management I have ever seen. I used my points to stay at this hotel but they charged me $105 which they refunded then they charged two more times. I stayed in May 4th and now it is June 23. I tried contacting the hotel management especially GM MATT, but he is always busy with nothing. Great customer service! I'll be reaching out Wyndham head office as well. Because of all these transactions from this hotel, my credit got blocked.

Stayed here the weekend and really enjoyed it. They staff was very friendly and funny the man at the front desk was super nice and helpful. The breakfast is good and pool is not too deep but definitely fun. I would recommend coming here, the rooms were really clean only problem is there was a kid slamming the door and crying not staffs fault though.

The room was a good size, washroom was small, hard to close the door while standing at the sink. I thought it was over priced but not many accommodations in the area to choose from.
Very clean, lots of parking some fast food places were easy walking distance.
Morning continental breakfast was included and it really was very basic, considering it was the most expensive stay in the 3 weeks we spent in the Maritimes. The processed an extra $200 fee for potential damages, usually it is on hold but when I checked at the front desk they told me that was their policy, not sure about that but 2 days later we were credited. Times are changing and it is hard to keep up. Staff were very polite about it all when explaining it to us.

Best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. Just wish the pool didn’t shut down on the kids due to a chemical issue. The whole visit was for the kids to enjoy the water slide and we saved up for the night just to end up watching movies we could have done at home for $220 cheaper.

Nothing particularly fancy and nothing high class, but we arrived very late at night (2 am) and staff at reception was helpful, pleasant, patient, and friendly and had our rooms waiting for us. The bed was very comfortable. The floors were a bit creaky. The faucet in the bathtub/shower was a bit loose, but the water pressure for the shower was good. The price was pretty good and the hotel is close to the highway and the location worked well for us.

Just wanted to give a special shout out to James! My boyfriend and I had gone down Friday night for a little staycation, but discovered upon arrival we had accidentally booked the wrong date through a third party booking app, who couldn't help us without forfeiting the price of our stay. James stepped right in and even got on the phone with the third party company for us and ensured that we could successful switch the booking to be able to stay there that night! He is a life saver and did not have to go above and beyond like he did! Thank you so much James, solely because of you we will be back in the future to stay again!

Rooms are average and could use some repairs. Continental breakfast has been cut back since my last stay. Had some billing issues this trip and took 3 rounds before it was corrected. I spoke with the front desk and the staff said the manager would call me by 10am. By lunch I had called the office and a different staff member said a manager would call me. After no response again I had to send an email to the head office to get it corrected.

Honestly, this place needs to be updated. Rooms are very standard. Service was okay. Location to town and what we need was good. Pool area is a little run down. Pieces of the wall and ceiling are pealing, rust every where, pain chiping and stained. Bathrooms are gross and dirty. Pool is very small. Hot tub not hot (warm). Meh.

Great hotel, fantastic staff. Will be back for sure. The housekeepers and all of the staff do a great job of looking after the guests. Everyone I talked to were helpful and happy to help. Any time I'm in the area, this is where I'll stay. At a fraction of a night in Halifax, I might just stay in Windsor if I have to be in the city.
