Very good location. Nice view.

Very nice food and a nice waiter, however when we came by in the late evening, the food was not as good as it uses to be, and also the portions suddenly became a lot smaller, therefore just 4.

Very, very nice Mexana Restaurant! Look forward to the next visit.

Nice setting good food I give this note because I found that the service was weird for example I had a pepper that was sticky and sticking by hand when I made the note it took a long time to think before they Clean. I do not know the hotel I tell you about the restaurant part.

THE HOTEL — Very friendly staff — they are proud to be a part of this beautiful town and to work here. Large rooms, carefully chosen colour matching interior — unfortunately I could only spend one night here — nice and quiet view of the monument. The TAVERN — Delicious, local food — a good glass of wine — affordable prices.

Traditional Bulgarian Food very rich, homemade and very well catered for.

I love this place I dream about going back there and sitting on the balcony. The view is spectacular. The breakfast is Bulgarian homemade food, it’s very yummy and the staff are very friendly. One bad thing is that the bed isn’t that comfortable.

Food & views. We got them both big time. Three times we returned there to get more and never left disappointed. Service is friendly, food is simple and exceptionally prepared and recommended wine Starosel Merlo was a great pairing. All the meals were prepared fast.

Great place to eat bulgarian food with beautiful view (only 3 tables on the terrasse) Unfriendly staff unfortunately. Around 15-20 lev/pers for a soup, main course and a glass of wine.

Very nice, we stayed on the road in an AirBnB. The tavern at the bottom of the street does great moussaka. Not really a destination in itself though.

Used to love the place. But when called to reserve a dinner table and they understood we are with kids … they just sent us to look for another place… USED to be the place for dinner in V. Tarnovi.

The views are great and the food is delicious. But please beware that food takes a LONG time to cook. I arrived an hour and a half before needing to catch a bus and ordered a small appetizer. I waited 40 minutes for it to come out, at which point I needed to leave. I asked the server to pack my order to go, which he kindly did. However, the heat of the food warped the plastic packaging, and it ended up spilling throughout the plastic bag. I could only enjoy a few bites before having to dump it out. Could have been a good experience if the server had indicated that the kitchen was slow, or if they used hot food-friendly packaging.

Great views, staff are incredibly helpful eg sorting out taxis when we were stranded at the railway station. Good family feel.

The restaurant is spectacular. Good food and good prices. A 10 in decoration and in service. Good views.

We did night at this cozy hotel in Veliko Tarnovo and everything was great. In addition the owners run a small restaurant where you can eat authentic Bulgarian food.

One of the best family run hotels! Rooms are comfortable, fully equiped, breakfast is more than enough and rich by its variety, staff is friendly and very helpful and attentative! Very good, picturesque location — what more can you ask for?

Great place, great food and views.

The best thing about the hotel Gurko is definitely its location. Situated directly on one of the oldest streets in Bulgaria, the Gurko Boulevard. Here you can see not only the beautiful old timber-frame houses from the time of the Bulgarian revival, but converts virtually over the roofs of the city, because the Gurko Bulevard is located up on a hillside. The hotel itself is in very cozy, the staff spoke mostly good German. Room and breakfast were also very good. To explore the city, the hotel is so right.
