The family atmosphere that reigns there, a good address in the historic center of Mostar.

The best hostel I've ever been! I recommend it to every traveler passing through Mostar, especially those who care about natural and calm space.
For me the most important is atmosphere and I found myself there really great.
This garden is the best! and workers were above "typical kindness from hostel", it was real care and willing to talk.
What is more is not located in the center, which is good, because you can avoid the crowds and feel relaxed in silence with flowers and bushes.

Horrible owner. I advised the hostel that I would be arriving late. An hour later he called to cancel my entire reservation as I was arriving after 10pm, leaving me homeless. Discusting management I would not want anyone to be left in the same situation in serbia.

Had an amazing time at Hostel Majdas. It really is a place that every backpacker should experience. It feels as though you are visiting your family, and you will find it hard to leave! Everyone is so kind and generous, and you feel very looked after. Couldn’t recommend Hostel Majdas enough. Never miss breakfast, it is the best breakfast you will find on your travels. And take Batas crazy tour, you will not regret it, I promise!

One of my favourite hostels in the world. Beautiful little place run by amazing people. Majda is so lovely and warm, and her cooked breakfasts are fantastic. Bata’s tour is legendary, taking you around the wonderful sights of Herzegovina for 12 hours, and worth every penny (plus you get more of Majda’s cooking afterwards! ) Only 5-minute walk from the bus/train station and a 10-minute walk into the old town. Air-conditioning in the rooms, comfy beds, loads of showers and a great common area inside and outside. I was here last year, returned this year and no doubt will return again in the near future. There is an aura of calmness here that can’t be explained. After a long day traveling to arrive, I was sat down and served soup and tea. Exactly what I needed. Can’t recommend enough.

Definitely the best place to stay in Mostar, you need to take the tour. It's by far the best tour I've ever done and like nothing you could ever experience on your own. Most people who come here stay longer than they expected, so be prepared to truly love a place that makes you feel at home and really is the definition of "chill". I have stayed in hotels, Airbnbs, and hostels over the years, and want to come back here because it's an experience like no other. You can book a private room via hostelworld if you prefer that, and the room and shower are really nice, rivalling other hotels and Airbnbs in the Balkans.

This place is not even a hostel, it's an institution. They are famous with backpackers all over the Balkans for Majda's warm welcome (and delicious homemade food) and Bata's tour of the nearby places. The tour may seem like it's the same sold around the city, and it does go to the same places, but it's unique because of the experiences he shares about the war, exile and his life now in a divided city. A few years later, it's still one of my most cherished travel memories.

Lovely, comfortable and cosy, the hospitality is unique and everybody was so friendly! It feels like you just visiting your relatives in Mostar who really missed you. I highly recommend for anyone! And one more thing: home-made breakfast!

Hostel Majdas is such a unique, cosy place in Mostar. Overwhelming hospitality that attracts interesting people from all over the world. Definitely worth visiting and once you are there you don't want to leave :-)

I had a truly memorable stay at this hostel. The owners are welcoming and loving — — I honestly felt that they went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Taking the guided tour is probably the best way to get a full sense of what Mostar and the neighboring towns and villages are like.

Absolutely the best hostel I have stayed in Europe ever. Felt more like coming home. Majdas is so warm and welcoming I wanted to stay and never leave. I extended my stay just so I could attempt to understand a bit of Mostar through Bata which was the best decision I ever made. Thanks, Majdas and Bata for being the amazing selves you are and sharing so much of yourself with the world. I left wanting to be as giving as you guys. Lots of love.

The hospitality was amazing and the private rooms were of hotel quality. Greatly recommended.

The best hostel I've stayed in. Great location. 5 mins from the old town. 2 mins from the bus station. Shops and local restaurants close by. The hostel staff are amazing. They give you time to chat on checkin to get to know you a bit and to tell you some info on Mostar. The facilities are perfect — clean and cosy. The indoor and outdoor public areas are really nice and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning is amazing.

A warm welcoming on arrive which is far above expectations. Beds are comfortable and food is amazing. Chilled atmosphere, plenty of showers and toilets.

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at, and I've been to quite a few. The hostel is spotlessly clean, yet has an amazing homely feeling to it. There are enough showers, which are also perfect. The Wi-Fi is fantastic and the beds comfortable. But the most important part of all, you feel at home here and the staff goes to great lengths to give you that feeling. They remember your name, they give you a nice home made cake when you arrive and the breakfast is the best I've ever had in a hostel. Go on the tour they organise, it was the highlight of my three week holiday.

Wonderful place, everyone is just wonderful, love this place. Batas tour is a must do, if you're not an ignorant bastard who don't care in which part of the world his drinking his beer at the moment. You will get a deep insight into the history of Mostar and BiH. The tour starts at noon and is about 12 hours long, so I would recommend at least 2 nights stay at Majdas. Don't get fooled by the bad ratings, those fools just don't know how to behave them self, yes there are a few rules at this hostel, but they're there to make your stay even better. So no shoes inside, no heavy drinking in the common spaces and if you're not sure about something ask first, do later and you will have the best experience of Mostar there can be.

Amazing hostel and uniquely hospitable staff. Had a real homely feel. If you visit Mostar and don't do the tour you didn't really visit Mostar. Facilities were always available and comfortable, rooms clean and tidy and overall the level of comfort was incredible. Very modestly priced as well. I would like to be back one day :) Can not recommend enough.

Great Hostel. One of the best I've stayed at. The staff are amazing and very helpful. The tour that they give is the best I've been on and is a great value. A must do.

I stayed for three nights in this hostel. One of the best I've ever been to. Everything was very clean and the staff is unbeatable. The breakfast is prepared by the owner of the hotel and it is great! I also did the tour of Mostar and the surrounding area with them, lasted a whole day and we visited Mostar, Pocitelj, Baglaj and kravice. Simply great!

Best hostel I've ever been to. Majda and Bata are awesome hosts and two of the most kind people in the world. Listening to their lifestory and love for Bosnia is truly an amazing experience! I'll be back soon, hopefully :)

Better price/performance than most other five stars I've given. Clean and welcoming. The single room I stayed in was hotel standard. I joined the tour arranged by the hostel. Also five stars witjout hesitation. It covers the Mostar essentials and combines fun and education. But be prepared for rather long, fierce talks about the war and other local history.

Great hostel! The service was excellent. When we arrive, then woman from the hostel greeted us with coffee and cake. They were really helpful, recommending us different places. I enjoyed my stay here.

Great staff with sociable atmosphere.

Expect a very police-like atmosphere in this place. You are not even allowed to enter with your flip-flops you just use in the patio. The staff literally wakes you up at 9 for breakfast by opening the curtains. Moving the jam pot from one table to another is a big deal, etc.

Great hostel. Friendly staff. Nice walk to town and train station.
