Review of Playa De Sala Boutique Hotel, Adults Only 3*

Breathtaking location on a very lightly developed bay. From the rooftop you have spectacular 360 views and can see right across the entire island. You can actually see Leonardo deCaprios’s island from it! All the rooms have a view of sunrise and water front on one side and sunset and mangroves on the other. Wonderful cross breezes thru the room altho air conditioning was also available. The rooftop bar is super cool. Shawn and Forest are wonderful hosts (onsite so easily accessible) and definitely added to our enjoyment of our visit. We had the privilege of being one of thier first visitors Dec 2017 over Christmas as they are just getting up and running. Its located well outside of town to the south (so no toll bridge! ) so it’s quiet and peaceful but expect a rustic ride on beachy roads to get into town-about 20-25 minutes from town by golf cart. We actually loved the golf cart and beach roads and felt it was part of the charm. (There are no cars on the island so golf cart, bicycle or boat are your options). The area felt incredibly safe for a Caribbean island and the entire south end is actively patrolled multiple times a day and night by a neighborhood watch. Loved this. I felt comfortable letting my young adult girls jog unattended in the mornings. When we were there in December the weather seemed perfect to me. Warm and breezy. It did get buggy when the breezes died but that was infrequent. Also of particular note was the fantastic puddle jumper plane ride to get to the island — the views were delightful. Loved this vacation. Highly recommended. Cant wait to go back.
