This is a terrible hotel. When we arrived both the balcony and main door were wide open. I am assuming to get rid of the terrible drain smell in the bathroom that is now infesting the entire room. I managed to find staff eventually and they said they would sort it while I went out to dinner. They appear to have just cranked up the AC and sprayed a bit of air freshener as the smell is still there but it now has a whiff of lemon to it. It is very dark at night with very little light around the property. The room locks are flimsy and when I arrived there were no towels (a nice guy who works here brought me some). There was paper and wipes on the partially wet bathroom floor which either the cleaner or previous occupants left behind and plastic packaging in the bath. It is clear that at least the bathroom has not been cleaned at all. Do not stay here! ***EDIT — Had to turn the air conditioning off as I have just discovered it is leaking water all down the wall, onto the bed and into my suitcase. I have had to use the incredibly ragged towel they eventually provided to mop up the floor. This place is disgusting! ***EDIT — The next day I asked for a new room and got one no trouble. It is much better. No smell and cleaner with a better bathroom. This is still very much basic/budget accommodation but this new room is acceptable.
They charge $1USD to use a beach towels (they say you cant take room towels to the beach), no pool, no beer or restaurant and the access to the “beach” isn’t great, it’s not even in the main part of town. I wouldn’t stay here again.
