Harlem B & B

Room was clean and comfortable, very affordable, home from home ambience, very good location near to bus route to Bridgetown and Oistens and local night life in The Gap, the employees were very approachable and nothing was too much, planning next trip with friends soon.

If you are looking for something cheap and close to everything this is the place.
Staff are kind and polite. The room are cool and the location next to everything is pretty cool!

We stayed for a week and the service was excellent, very friendly and super receptive!
The breakfast was super delicious and even though we didn't speak much of the language, the girls still made a great effort to serve us in the best way possible!

My experience at this B&B was no doubt unique, but I wish to share it because it far surpassed my expectations. At the end of our two-week vacation, my husband required hospitalization, which was a very stressful experience for both of us. I needed a place to stay that was quiet, comfortable and clean. When I saw Harlem B&B on the Expedia website, and noticed the favorable reviews, I decided to give it a try. It was exactly what I needed. My room was comfortable, clean, and decorated with fresh, sunny yellow walls that lifted my spirits. The staff were amazing. Latoya and Charlene were caring and kind. They sympathized with my situation and were there when I returned from my daily hospital visits. It almost felt as though they were family by the time I left. Scott, the owner, bent over backward to be accommodating. He also expressed empathy for my situation. The B&B sits virtually across the street from the Southern Palms Beach resort, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the beach and waves if you have a meal at their restaurant. My husband and I will stay here again the next time we visit this part of Barbados. It is also likely that my daughter and her boyfriend will do the same, when they visit Dover Beach. Thank you, Scott, Latoya, and Charlene for your incredible welcome and for all of your help and concern when I needed it.

Went on a business trip in May stayed there for two nights … very nice area everything is close by, quiet Area never had any disturbances… The staff is friendly… I loved everything About My Room it was very cozy… I loved The mini fridge that help a lot🫶🏾

Stayed for 2 nights, room was clean and spacious. The location was great since it's close to numerous restaurants and amenities. However the water pressure was low and the ac unit wasn't working but didn't really need it because the breeze was cool throughout the day.

Frills free b and b. Rooms are comfortable. Some basic issues with the shower in our particular room.

Ok, it is in a good spot and rooms are ok, and the air con and Wi-Fi good, but was very disappointed that they were not interested in doing food.
When we looked at reports on trip adviser when we booked, everyone remarked on the nice breakfast and the nice owners. But now it is up for sale and the owners were nowhere to be seen. There were some young people manning it and looked painful to have to do work, even when we booked for breakfast one morning, the chef did not turn up!
I was also charged an extra 5% for paying by credit card which was not mentioned when booking.
I would think twice about going there again, but saying that it will probably be under new ownership?

The building is very pretty. It was decorated really nice during the Christmas holiday. My room was very spacious, open, clean, and colorful. Large bathroom with large shower area. Basic toiletries were provided enough to get you started. There was a small refrigerator in the room, safe, iron and ironing board, luggage rack, desk, and lots of storage areas for your clothing. The room was air conditioned, but you had the option of opening the windows to let the fresh air in. The bed was nice which allowed me to sleep well. Continental breakfast was provided daily with the option to order other breakfast items from a menu. The common area was nice, cozy, and clean. Parking is provided if you rent a car. The location is walking distance from local entertainment and nice restaurants. I felt safe the entire time there and I traveled solo. The staff was amazing and accommodating.
I will definitely be back to stay when I am visiting Barbados.

I've just returned from a week in Barbados, and my stay at the Harlem B&B was absolutely perfect. I had a large room with two double beds, and it was equipped with excellent air conditioning and a lovely large bathroom and shower. The room was spotlessly clean. It was a wonderful base for my week, and the location is brilliant. You're in a quiet local suburb, but within a few minutes walk to all the bars and restaurants on The Gap and Dover Beach. You're also very close to the main road that runs between Oistins and Bridgetown, and the reggae buses and government run buses are very easy to get to when you want to move around the island.
The staff in Harlem are fantastic too. One lady took me up to main road and showed me how to use the reggae buses — it was so nice of her and meant I felt really confident using this unique transport option.
The only issue I had was that there are a huge number of smoke alarms in the property, and on my first night the one outside my room was pinging constantly to say it had a low battery. I asked if this could be sorted, but it never happened — I eventually went and pulled the battery out myself as it was driving me mad! But then another one started pinging (not close enough to my room to be annoying) and carried on pinging throughout the stay. The staff said they've asked the manager to sort them out, but he never does.
