I would never expect that any hotel will block the funds on the credit card without the consent of the owner but it is what happened to me at Le Meridien. The hotel (sorry "the system" — it is how the staff was explaining) blocked the fund for the stay on the card providing only for deposit not on the one given for the payment for the stay. No pre-authorisation was performed… Only "the system" used the card to which there was no consent to block the funds. Very unplesant experiance and could you please provide me with compliance department e-mail and the official way to report the incident.

It's not a real 5 stars hotel! A good 4 on the Ring.

Really nice hotel, but no lounge like other Le Meridians so they proceed free access to the mini bar. There's a small indoor pool and hot tub as well as a small gym with machines and equipment and a sauna. Nice, friendly staff and comfortable beds. Note that on each floor there are 2 sets of 4-5 steps going up and down depending on which side of the building you are in so if you're in a wheelchair, you may want to ask for a room that does not require stairs to get to (closer to the elevators)

Excellent experience, Free water and complimentary drinks in the morning before breakfast just make this experience amazing, breakfast has also a lot of variety and having being able to make your choice of omelet is great as well and of course rooms were great, I personally had the bigger rooms so my experience was tad better than people in smaller rooms, although smaller rooms do give a cozy feeling. In the end of the day it was great and if you have some extra money you should absolutely try this gem of a hotel, and of course the location is also great since most attractions is a walk away. Loved it!

Excellent hotel in the middle of key points in Vienna. Checkin was efficient & welcoming. The decor is simple but well done, clean & comfy. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The food is delicious. The breakfast one of the best in Vienna. The bar /lounge is trendy and hip with a great crowd. I highly recommend this chic hotel.

My family's one day stay in Vienna was perfect thanks to Let Meridien. It has a great location, the staff are incredibly kind and accommodating, and the rooms are amazing. Will hopefully be back for a longer stay!

Nice big comfortable room with tall ceilings and windows. Quite. Well maintained with quality furnishing from 10 or 15 years ago. Unobtrusive, cheerful and outstandingly helpful staff. Sheraton has come a long way since the last time I stayed in one a decade ago. I'll be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Meridian Vienna. It was all perfect, and staff exceedingly sympathetic and friendly. The food and drinks leave nothing to be desired. We like to come back.

Stayed for 6 nights with my wife at Le Méridien. We had an excellent experience, from check-in to check-out. Rooms are very confortable, staff is very friendly and helpful. We even got upgraded so that we could get in our room once we arrived quite early in the morning. The plus points largely compensate a very few minor details, and the location is really perfect to make it your base for exploring Vienna. So overall, it is a well-deserved 5 stars rating! Can't wait to come back.

Hotel has good room cleaning service, while it also provides free bottled water, soda (regular and diet), beer, apple juice and apple cider. Hotel's breakfast has good fruit and veggies salad, while it also offers 4 to 5 types of fresh fruits. Bread and bakery have numerous varieties, including small chocolate cakes, brownies, etc. Front desk Customer Reps are young, friendly, and energetic, and they are able to remember customers' name naturally. Hotel has its TV channels with English-based business TV channels as front channels, and it is relatively friendly for foreign tourists and business conference participants. Hotel is 2 blocks away from Opernring, Exit E, of the Karlsplatz Station, which has U1, U2, and U4 trains. Hotel is located with walking distance to Opera House and various historical sites, including imperial palace. It is also in walking distance to train and bus station to Baden, one-day tour resort outside Vienna. Hotel seems to be a value bargain for the travellers.

The building is a very classic one outside but the design inside is a modern and fancy one. The location is perfect right in the historical center at a walking distance of some city landmarks. The breakfast is very nice and complete. The service is as you can expect in such hotel.

The location is top. Room large enough with spacious bathroom. Lobby and bar are great. Spa with pool and sauna is not nice though. But fulfills the purpose. Relaxation area is missing after the sauna.
Champagnebar could tolerate more atmosphere. It was somehow always empty.

Were brunch there. Choice and taste is OK and you will find everything you would otherwise find at a brunch. Maybe some more exclusivity has been missing for the price. Mineral water is available at the buffet from a tap and in the 0, 75l bottle to order. With the difference that the bottle costs €8;) If anyone wants to spare something.

Just wow… very noble. Nice and competent staff. Modern furnishings. The location is central. A subway station is nearby. The price comes a lot before but it pays off. Who stands for luxury is exactly right!

The hotel is 10 minutes from the center. The first suite was very old, we asked for a replacement. The new room was after renovation and a sky better than the previous one. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. The only minus is a very small and meager club lounge.

The staff were very friendly, attentive, and resolute. 4 are the stars of this hotel, the staff makes it worth the 5 stars.

The hotel is in prime location, right in the centre of Vienna. The desk stuff are very professional and helpful. The room is spacious clean and overall very nice. The only downside was the shower which was a bit of a let down… black mould and the extractor was not working. But overall I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Oh one last thing the breakfast is amazing and cater for for every taste and dietry.

The only advantage is the location.
Room musty and outdated not really clean. Carpet spotted. Service on entering the hotel equals 0. More apparent than being. For a 5 star hotel unfortunately an absolute pure.

Beautiful elegant hotel, very centrally located to all the best attractions in Vienna. Rooms are large and spacious with an open floor plan — and very modern decor. This was probably my favorite hotel in all of my travels to Europe because of the staff! The front desk was very accommodating — no matter what my request, they found a way to make it happen. The staff at the Moët bar was incredible as well! We became such regulars they would reserve an outdoor table for us. And our waitress would make my wife the largest of all ice waters in the finest of wine glasses — and ice water is hard to come by in Europe! Can't wait to come back and visit again!

We have just left LeMeridien Vienna. Lovely large room. The staff very courteous. Every one of them that we dealt with. Couldn't fault the Hotel. Great location. Definately would recommend it. Only downside, we weren't impressed with the buffet breakfast for the price it cost.

Spectacular breakfast. Good quality, quantity and time extensive. The room very well and with many details. The staff very attentive. Only one person in reception speaks English. Five stars total.

Hotel ideally located in the heart of the most beautiful Viennese monuments. Quality services and a warm welcome. A particularly good restaurant. Attention however to the regularity of the hours of passage in the room, and to the organisation of evenings that can hinder the clientele without being invited.

I've been staying at this hotel since 2008 at least 2 or 3 times a year… it is, by far, my favourite place in Vienna… it is a nice hotel, obviously not perfect and has a lot to learn from other Starwood hotels… some rooms are good, some rooms are great and a few are bad (especially ones close to the elevators) … I especially like the corner rooms, with views to the park, and (as I recently discovered) the executive rooms on the 7th floor with a terrace… breakfast is indeed roughly the same over the years (as some other reviewers noticed) but is has a good choice, and you can also order some a la carte dishes… restaurant has some good choices for dinner, but I would love some more wine choices… I once had a quick bite in Le Moet (the champagne bar) and did not like it as this is a smoking lounge… the bar is a great place to relax in the evening, good atmosphere and interesting cocktail list… i may be biased in my review, as I stayed here so many times, but the staff was always friendly and helpful and made the "not so good" experiences go away…

Pros: nice location. Friendly staff. And the best part, a basic drinks minibar (coke, diet coke, still water, carbonated water, beer, orange juice, Apple juice and teas & coffees) are provided daily in single quantities totally free as hotel compliment which I haven't seen before in any other hotel. Cons: lobby, hallways and room are below than average looking. Breakfast buffet is just ok and never introduced a single new item even after one week of stay. The worst part, while visiting in March, the weather was cold. So the heater was on to the point where it becomes very hot in the room. And you can't control the heat from the thermostat. Even after turning the entire thing off. I wouldn't sleep well because I'd wake up sweating in the middle of the night. Staff couldn't help much with this issue.

A very pleasnt hotel, close to every thing, rarely we used the under ground. the rooms are big and nice, clean, the spa and the gym room included. a very good team, kind and very politly, good service.

Amazing location and beautiful room at a good price through Hotwire. Service was average to good, but the reason I am giving 3 stars is due to incredibly loud thumping music playing from 9pm-12:30am, so we couldn't sleep despite the comfy bed.

Le Meridien is very well located in the center of Vienna with large rooms… but it has a tendancy to convert into a Disco Club pretty often. I stayed 3 nights out of which 2 saw the main restaurant converted into a noizy party (up to 2, 000people! ) With drunk individuals… I've received a pretty rude service (the waiter clearly make me feel I was stupid) upon breakfast as I was not seated "in the right area of the restaurant". Conclusion: I will not come back to this place but might try the superb Park Hyatt insead. They may consider to open a real club and train their team about Luxury Hotel Experience.

I upgraded to an Executive Room and am really glad I did. The best thing about the Hotel is its superb location; most major attraction are within 1 Km radius. The lobby and restaurant have modern stylish decor, rooms (Executive) was large and well furnished, with spacious toilet including bath tub and large shower cubicle. A complementary mini bar was a good bonus. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This location was poorly utilized by the architect.
Entrance, lobby, restaurant work rather can't, little cozy and uninviting. The food for a Meridien not hochklasssig, the rooms are OK.

Really great hotel for this price point! Great gym, great restaurant, the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Plus I'm gluten free and they surprised me with being able to accommodate even that! The location was supreme too — diagonal from the Opera and central to most everything.

Fantastic location. The design leaves something to be desired as it is about form over function. The shower doesn't have a door or curtain so the water splashes onto the floor of the bathroom.

A great hotel dirictly on the ring. Fab rooms and top facilities. You'll never be dissapointed. I have spent many nights there.

The hotel itself is really good. Nice and modern design, spacy and well equipped rooms, excellent location near all the things you should have seen in Vienna. The service quality is partly not yet on the level like the hotel and the brand name. I experienced sometimes a bit arrogance at the personnel. They should work on having the guest in the focus, not their own problems. Nonetheless I would come back, because the total package is ok (but not wow).
