Situated in the idyllic mountain village of Tauplitz in the Styrian Salzkammergut, the Hotel Pension Sonnenuhr is an ideal starting point for mountain bikers and hikers in summer, and for skiers and cross-country skiers in winter. The hotel is right next to the ski slope and only about 50 metres away from the valley station of the 4-seated chair lift taking you up to the Tauplitzalm mountain pasture, at 1,600 metres above sea level. The Hotel Sonnenuhr offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Grimming, one of Europe’s biggest isolated mountains. All rooms have breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. We were here at the end of July, the place was not crowded which was very good! In the summertime breakfast is only available, no dinner only in winter time. But you can find a lot of good restaurants nearby. The breakfast should be more varied (during our 5 day vacation in all morning it was the same), but in general we are satisfied with it. Nanja and all of the employees were very-very kind with us, and we were happy that we can bring with us our small puppy. All of our family member were warmly welcomed. The place is a standard typical austrian pension. Middle class, clean, comfortable. But the panorama was priceless!
