Location of hotel is good and easily accessible to city centre area. Reception staff are friendly and always ready to help you. Mountain View from hotel is very beautiful.

Clean and cozy despite 6 beds in the room. He's really cool.

Room was perfect as a hostel cause it feel like a hotel. Location wise is about 25 mins walk to the old town if you prefer to walk than taking public transport. There is a mountain right behind the hostel where you can hike to the old town. Security wise needs to be improve where some drunk guy came into female room and no one have any idea how he get the key to our room. Other than that is a pleasant stay.

Great place to stay with super friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms with good facilities. The motel is adjacent to a small shopping Centre and is about a 1km walk to the center of town. It cost us (May 2018) €7 in a taxi to town or old town centers. Recommended.

Really uncomfortable and completely dissatisfied with returning in the room in the afternoon and finding the room not at all settled. Find out that there is absolutely no cleaning staff in the afternoon so we had to pack all the bags and move to another clean room. Already on arrival we noticed that the room had been full of dust, not clean and '' maybe '' even without having changed the sheets. There was hair and dirt, and the reception was told that it would be cleaned the following day. Then it was not done. The second room was definitely better, but we will not be back.

Although this is not a 'luxury' hotel, we were pleasantly surprised with our room which was no frills, but very comfortable. Use of the guest laundry and kitchen was extremely helpful and the location, although further out of town than we usually stay, was a very pleasant walk or bus ride. The staff were always very helpful and friendly.

This is a review of the hostel. Good place to rest after a day out exploring. A bit far from the city center. Very clean. Friendly staff. Not much of an atmosphere but that is expected since it is a hostel-hotel. Kitchen is a bit small.

I love this place! I booked a double room in Meininger Hotel and the view is stunning! The room is spacious and clean. The staffs are friendly and helpful. But the best thing about this hotel is the shared kitchen & washing machine+dryer. Thank you! What a pleasant stay.

Excellent hostel, very clean, it is a hotel with all the letters, the only q is missing is a bar filled with more wave, but it depends a lot of the city. The staff is very cool, and very biased.

Location and size of room were misleading as was the fact that it was a hostel. Every day a new tour group would arrive of young school kids who were there to party like any normal school trip. Fine to a point but not late at night. Everything is basic from the bedding and towels to the breakfast. Staff were very good however and were always helpful even at 1am. Size of quad rooms very small and would not have suited for a stay of longer than a couple of nights. We stayed 6 nights but this was only possible as we were moved to a disabled room that was twice the size. About 20 minutes bus journey into centre o town so not that convenient.

Very spartan, a little noisy. Bathroom very clean. The floor in the room was not quite as clean. Hair on the sheet.
Nothing bad but still annoying. To the volume is to say: Stag party and dog not a good combination. Price OK.

We were completely satisfied: The Meininger is well connected to local transport, offers acceptable comfort and a good price — performance — ratio and highly motivated service — forces. The breakfast is good. We like to come back!

Stay in that hotel two times for a couple of night as a family of 4; rooms are clean and nice with a big panoramic view; the stuff of the hotel super friendly and helpful; good internet, laundry, and kitchen made this hotel best bang for the buck;

I could get help from people working there whatever question or problem I had. For example when I wanted to go hiking but didn't know the tracks I was given a map with all the hiking tracks in the area and they even explained me everything about how to find these tracks. Rooms are modern, comfortable and always clean (even the cleaningladies are so friendly). Proper fast and stable internet connection in the whole building. The only negative experience I had was in connection with other guests. There is NOTHING BAD I cold say about this place.

We stayed in a quad room for two nights and the experience was great, it is bright and spacious enough for a family with big luggages, and the room were well-cleaned for both of the days. The receptions are really kind and thoughtful, will recommend it to others. The guest kitchen is also nice and clean. Location is good, close to the tram station and about 6minutes walk to S-Bahn Salzburg Gnigl.

Top rooms — nice design, very clean, enough and well placed outlets! Unfortunately, two single beds instead of double bed — with baby in between, something unfavorable. Breakfast buffet was OK for the price, some more fresh ingredients could have been. But there was everything you wanted. Location in Salzburg: not very central, but was not a problem as we were travelling by car.

I'm at this hotel chain for the first time and you're a little disappointed. A 3Sterne hotel to. The beds don't go away. I could not sleep tonight because I felt the metal feathers on my body and this morning I got up with back pain. The breakfast was OK.
The staff are very friendly.

The hotel is centrally located, is priced top and above all it has a very friendly and competent staff.
The rooms are furnished in a modern style and offer ample space.

When booking I expect a 3 star hotel. When I got there I felt like I was in a low cost youth hostel. Friendly but not very professional helpdesk personnel. Intrusive, unfriendly and noisy cleaning staff. Not very clean bathroom and very old mattress with protruding springs. Only two small face towels for two adults and a kid. I will not come again!

Such a great service with daily change of bed linen, cleaning and wonderful European breakfasts are not often found in expensive hotels! Special thanks to speaking Resepshionistke Irina-for many years of my travels it was the best advice on staying in the city and thrifty shopping-lunches!

The apartment is located in a convenient location. The rooms rented were well equiped and spacious. The hotel had a good spread for the breakfast buffet and the staff were very friendly. They even helped us order last minute late night pizzas. Recommended for stay :)

Nice cheap hotel in Salzburg. Rooms are adequately equipped and clean. Downtown is about a 30-minute walk away. Easy to get from the highway.

The overall concept is optimal, comfort where you need it, practical solutions for a wide range of visitors. Room big enough, relatively quiet (is just on a busy road, but this is ok with the good windows), good heating/air conditioning, good and adequate breakfast. Good value for money.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The check-in lasted only a few minutes!
The rooms in Salzburg are very modern and in great condition!
Very advantageous are the private bathrooms and the possibility to include your belongings in a cupboard (borrowing your own castle or for a deposit at the reception).
On my next visit to Salzburg I would stay in her house again!

Very nice Hotel. The room was pretty much new. Warm quiet comfortable beds and practically new bathroom. 5 bus stops from the centre. Park fee under the hotel. Recommended.

Unbeatable for the price. Staff nice and friendly, room functional, furnished with everything you need nicely. Breakfast offers ample choice for everyone, only the pastry was to be faulted, neither rolls nor bread were good.

Rooms modern and newly furnished. Clean. Unfortunately audible by thin walls neighbor noises. Parking garage under the house was very pleasant. Breakfast room is also billiards room, which would be more likely to classify as a hostel.
What's not possible at all: I'm on a business trip and I wasn't present at check-in. Although I had booked into my name, my companion was asked to pay instead of me being able to pay it from my business account. I am disappointed with the behaviour of the reception.

The room was clean and well kept. It had all we needed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The self-serve kitchen is a benefit for savy travelers.

We spent 4 nites here & were very pleased with the location, its cleanliness! Staff were very helpful & pleasant! It was about a 20 min walk to the old town, which was good! Near to grocery stores & restaurants!

I thought this was a great hostel! So clean! Breakfast costs extra but is worth it. Bus 4 around the corner takes you to the main squares. The rooms are rather small so get cozy!

The hotel was really nice, not in the city center but very close and we'll connected by public transport. The rooms were very clean and big. As well as nice. I definitely recommend to stay in here.

Our stay at Meininger Salzburg was excellent. The room was already available to us in excellent condition at the time of check-in. The locality of the hotel is excellent with easy proximity to different places in Salzburg and bakeries, restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel is exactly as mentioned on their website. The hotel room is excellent and the amenities are excellent too. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and will also plan to stay in this hotel for our future visits as well.

Stayed at Salzburg for two nights only. Hotel was very nice and really very clean (appreciated), but the price did not include breakfast and parking so in the end it was not a good value for the money. Some of the staff were VERY nice and helpful, some were not :-)

Strategic position. Modern design but functional. Room very clean and staff very helpful.

I stayed at this hotel a few steps from the centre of Salzburg, with my wife and my two teenage daughters and we found ourselves in a youthful and comfortable environment, but with a special attention to hygiene and comfort. The center is at your fingertips with public transport just a few meters from the hotel and on foot in about 10 minutes. Beautiful experience, I highly recommend the property. Great appreciation for the front desk staff.

Everything else is fine but this place is a bit far from the city centre. There is a bus stop nearby but if you have luggage and senior citizens travelling with you, then its not recommended. Positive : Neat and clean. Friendly staff. Rooms are OK (Could be a bit better, but still is great for the price you pay) Negatives: Distance from the city centre, Bad breakfast; — sorry to say but this was by far the worst breakfast I ever ate. Would recommend not to waste your money on break fast here. I know that the amount charged for breakfast is very less but the quality is, in fact really bad… Stale breads, hard cheese and so on. I would not mind paying a better amount for a better quality of food any day. Skip the breakfast! The kitchen for self cooking is extremely small. Overall, it was an OK stay. Nothing amazing or to look forward to, for another visit!

Great hostel with reasonable prices!

This hotel was a good bargain, but you do get what you pay for. The room was definitely minimalist — very tiny amount of furniture. No nightstand (unless you count the tiny stool) and the bathroom was extremely cramped. Single person shower with barely any room to bend over. No counter space, but there was a bookshelf where we all placed our toiletries. The best part of the rooms were the beds. A nice bunk bed and then 2 twins next to each other. All very comfortable! The hotel was not in a very convenient location. It's about a 20 minute walk to Mirabell Gardens and even farther to get to the center of old town. There is a bus stop but its across the street and down the block. The hotel itself offers many conveniences : shared kitchen, laundry (5 euros), breakfast buffet in the morning, 2 computer stations, pool table, huge fridge in lobby where you can buy beer, juice, water, etc. It was pretty good for the price and I wouldn't mind staying here again.

This hostel was one of the nicest I've been in, and not very expensive for booking at the last minute! The rooms were clean and each room had its own shower and bathroom. My only complaint is that breakfast was not included, and it was a little far out of the city center, but I felt very safe and comfortable, so for the price it was definitely worth it! I would definitely recommend!

First time in a hostel. Place is very clean, well maintained, friendly & helpful staff, comfortable beds with room amenities, and convenient to bus stop that makes it easy to go anywhere.

I liked very much the room, it was very clean and very spacious. The breakfast was ok but to be honest I would have preferred to have it included in the room rate. I find the hotel much more expensive than the one in Vienna. I guess is because of the location:) In any case, I am convinced for my next trips I will chose again your hotel chain.

We were only one night there, but all the students were enthusiastic and we teachers also. We noticed that the rooms are so noisy, which is good, because young people also want to talk to 22:00.

A lovely place to stay in salzburg, our room on the 3rd floor had a view over the hills and mountains. There's even a roof terrace with sun loungers at the top! Good guest kitchen, it's small and cosy, but it's a chance to chat with other guests. It's about a 20 min walk into the centre, or there is a train station 10mins away which you can get a train 3 stops and walk along the river (free if you have interrail pass! ) The hostel was very secure and felt safe. There's an aldi opposite too for shopping. Rooms are really nice, spacious and big-even had a sofa in ours! We really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely look to stay at meiningers in the future!

My evaluation is good because, I found the Service, friendly staff, and the price-performance ratio good. Unfortunately, the beds are a bit saggy, and the room with the window open a bit noisy.

Room newly renovated and in a cool style. Staff very friendly. The way to the city centre is a bit far to walk, did not bother us and the bus was no Problem at all. Happy again!

Access easy, lift, quiet with good Euro style breakfast. Transport handy. Pillows in Euro hotels too hard. Need to discover foam pillows for those guests who prefer that type.

The people at the front desk are very friendly and willing to help! This is a great choice if you're traveling on a budget but still want to have the comfort. It is easily reachable from the Main Train Station and it's a 15min walk to the old town.

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town, but well connected with bus lines 2, 4, 10 and others. A good short distance — approx 10 minutes from Old town/altstadt. The hotel staff is helpful and courteous. Overall a good experience.

Excellent hotel. Clean and great rooms… I did not expect balcony but it was plus, since we had lovely view from the balcony :) In my opinion you should have free parking since the hotel is not in the city center. That would be nice especially for the travelers like us who drove 1300 km to get in Salzburg.

We were in MENINGER during 3 nights and we felt there very confortable and good. The room was spacious, bright and warm. We had got really nice sigths from our balcony. The TV, the hair drier and the heating worked properly. The hotel is well comunicated with the center of Salzburg. We arrived at 12 a. M. But we couldn't go to the room until 3 p. M. A bit late in our opinion, and this is the point for improving we think so.

Good accommodation for budget travelers. The rooms are very clean and the staff is nice. The breakfast is not included in the price, but there is a supermarket just crossing the street.

Location is further from the city center but I liked that as it is set up against a mountain. Bus stops are close by for easy travel to the center but not many restaurants close by. Breakfast was a bit pricey at 7 euros but its convenient and probably cheaper then most cafes. There is a grocery store next door but keep in mind that they are closed on Sundays! The kitchen is smaller but clean and easy to use.

First, the Positive: top as always, fast and friendly staff, also in the form of recommendations, and thank you for the possibility of the wheels with you in the basement. The Negative: a light bulb in the room was broken. Reading light in the bunk bed above (room 401) is also defective. I login but forget to. The guest kitchen is a bit Spartan. The Hotel is realy nice, reception friendly, breakfast ok, perfect for tourists. Realy good entertaiment and full of peoples, you can play billiard, or even play wii. The room was nice and clean, also the bathroom.

Have 1 night booked had. If everything was satisfied, they found it clean and nice. Location is also good, the centre on foot in 20-25min. Distance. Against advance payment, I think not very well, Yes you could also the credit card Deposit prefer as a suggestion.

I only spent one night here, but it was a great hotel! I didn't get too familar with their security measures as I came fairly late and left as tiemw as due. Breakfast was a bit expensive and yes, the location isn't right in town, but we knew that and the bus drove frequently and was rather cheap. The female 6 person shared dorm was clean and big and looked very new. Overall a very nice stay!

Meininger Hotel Salzburg was easy to find, close to everything you need and is even in the same building as a mini mall or shopping centre which is fantastic and so convenient. We booked a room for 5 people and it was very good. It was clean and provided all the space we required. It was also great having a separate shower and toilet. The room was very good. If I have one suggestion that is to upgrade your existing laundry facilities. Overall fantastic staff who provide fast, friendly, helpful 24 hour service and have a good knowledge of Salzburg and very good English. Thanks for making our stay very comfortable!

Good. However your cleaning staff are just a wood= no hello, no good bye, no good morning, no eye contact. Just like I see some dead people. We are not happy to see these kind of woods.

I travelled Salzburg alone and it was good for one woman to stay because it was safe enough. And the facilities and the cleanness of the room were very good. Especially the bathroom and WC was separated and they were all located in the room. The bed was also fine. And a staff there was willing to let me know how can I make good city tour and to recommend good places.

Basic but ideal accomodation for travelling with four young children. Breakfast was very good as well. Friendly staff. Pleasant walk to the Fortress and old town.

Reception very friendly and helpful. The rooms are sufficiently equipped, good sleeping comfort, attractive bathroom (despite the low price). Overall, it is because of the many international guests are not so very calm in the house, but I slept well.

Actually, all very well fitted. The only thing to fault was that, I at half past 11 o'clock on the evening itself the upper bunk bed, the cover did need to because it apparently has been forgotten and we of course only have noticed when my son went to sleep. The bedding was at the foot of the bed. Otherwise, as I said, it was a pleasant stay. Especially the Breakfast I found very good.

My rating? If I completely wanted to share with you I write a whole day. Short and sweet: I will not tell sichrliche, and the hotel we provide certainly for conversation. Paying for your entire stay in advance… A guest next to me complains about not cleaned rooms, we had feather duster (there are photos) you just can't see over the cleaning… The impression remains, here I'm certainly not coming back;

We found the Zimmereinrichtug cool, also the bathroom was nice and spacious, but a Cabinet has been lacking in the room, namely, our clothes had to lie all the time in the suitcase! It was uncomfortable. The kitchen could be cleaner. The breakfast was not really varied, but all right (except the coffee — but we are Italians! ). The price has appeared too high to us. That's why we stayed only 3 nights. For this, the staff at the front desk was super friendly and Nice. Bye bye!

This place was great! The staff if generally friendly. They were super busy, so some looked pretty bloody annoyed, but a couple were helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice, roomy, and clean. The bathrooms were nice too. Lots of natural light. The common room/bar is great and chill. Really clean and nice. The hostel is far from downtown. It's about 15 or 20 minutes on a bus, which is the mode of transportation everyone told us to take. There is, however, a train from the train station right next door that gets you downtown in 5 minutes, and we are not sure why no one told us to take that. I recommend anyone staying here use the train system. Also, don't ask the staff for directions. One of the staff members led us to an ENTIRELY different location on the basis of a Google search, and we ended up missing a train to Berlin, and then couldn't get a room in the hostel that night to accommodate us after that minor disaster. Moral of the story: Google it yourself. Maybe ask them as a secondary opinion. DEFINITELY do the free walking tour. It's awesome and such a great education.

It was good. Rooms are pretty and neat. Service is superb. I liked it.

A bus number 2 or 150 from the train station takes you to the hotel. It is clean and the staff are friendly. The area around the hotel has stores that you can buy essentials from, there are different restaurants and there is Macdonalds nearby. (Tip: You must also buy a "Salzburg Card" if you are traveling around. Its value for money! ) Overall, it is a recommended place to stay in.

Positives: Good value, clean, attractive, efficient, guest kitchen Negatives: Moderate distance from town centre (regular buses close by though) Arrived late in Salzburg and walked to the hotel from the train station with rucksacks and 2 kids. Made it feel like a treck, but there are regular buses. Not sure what time they stop in the evening so something worth checking. Hotel looked good from the outside, lobby also looked good and our room was clean and bright. Staff were smart and friendly although I'd question their knowledge of local restaurants. No tea/coffee in the room. We booked last minute which gave us 10% off the advertised rate. We paid 22.50 per adult (2 of us), with 2 kids under 5 who were free. We paid 6.90 each adult for breakfast and the kids were free. Breakfast was 6.30 am to 10 I believe and we didn't feel rushed to leave. It looked as if you could have taken a coffee after that time, although we didn't. There was a charge of €1 per item if you wanted to take stuff from the breakfast buffet for packed lunches etc. This appeared to be on an honour system as we did not see any heavy handed policing. Total was €58.50. We felt that was a very good price and would be very happy to recommend it. We didn’t use the kitchen for guests, but thought it was a great idea and there were a couple of American guests preparing their evening meal in it. We’d have used it if we’d known in advance. Negatives: Slightly out of town, but the price more than compensates.

This has been the best hostel I've stayed in on my Euro trip so far. Not only are the staff so friendly and helpful, the modern facilities are such a luxury for hostel living. There is a private ensuite for each dorm room, which is wonderful. The kitchen is also good and the hostel is a good location. Some of the other reviews complain about the 2k walk into the aldstadt, but it's not at all that far, and the best way to see a city really is by foot! The only thing I would say I was disappointed in was the size of the washing machine. Loved that they had a washing machine, but it was quite small and took over 3 hours to do a load of washing and dry it. But despite the washing machine, I would love to stay here again. I liked it so much in fact, I booked for the same hostel chain in Vienna. Thanks for the great stay, guys.

Very very good hotel, friendly, polite, helpful staff, good food and atmosphere, one of the best hotels I've been in, clean and pleasant.

The best hostel I ever stayed in. First, it's an old factory, so it's really big. The decoration inside is fantstic and there is also a bar by the side of the reception. The price is tottally worth it. Second, it's really centered in. You can go anywhere because not only things are close but also the train is in front of the hostel. Tottaly recomend it.

Stayed here with my family. It's more like a hotel than a hostel. Good safety and reasonably priced. The staff was helpful. The guest kitchen is useful for folks who want to cook their own meals. The location is also good. The bus stop and the S-Bahn station (Salzburg Gnigl) are less than 5 minutes away by walk.

Maid loud and unfriendly. Rooms ok. Breakfast impertinence (operation, offer). The harness is to clear itself and the tables and chairs are to get rid of the filth of the predecessor.

Great prices when traveling in groups, modern furnishing.
