My experience speaks from the restaurant and the food: staff really very unfriendly and snippy. Food was nothing special and cheap. Not even from the afternoon menu.
For me there is no recommendation to go out to eat there.

We had family feasts there. From the planning to very friendly, uncomplicated and helpful. Good value for the price. Delicious food. Great service, so nice girls, always kept the overview, were accommodating. Until the end we felt very comfortable! Thank you!

The rooms with balcony are clean and equipped with a 3 star hotel.
The bathroom has been unusually large.

Very nice room, bathroom even refurbished! Breakfast has a small buffet, but offers everything that heart desires. Parking facilities in front of the house available and limited. In the house itself nicely heated in winter. 5 Automimuten away There are very good restaurants. Despite the remote location, the city centre is easily accessible.

Friendly and welcoming, good family cooking…

The stay in the Rest of the Restaurant Kohlpeter is always a joy and pleasure. The non-Smoking area in the pine room particularly pleasant. Excellent food, very friendly Service, perfect price-performance ratio. I am always happy to visit here. Strong Recommendation!

Had celebrated a birthday there and were surprised by the wonderful food, the very nice service and the cozy atmosphere. Gladly again at any time!

An adorable hotel with an adorable staff. Quaint setting off the main streets. We stayed on a Friday night and didn't hear a peep on the streets. Short distance to the city center.

Rooms are nice, service is decent, same goes for breakfast. Nothing special but at the same time absolutely fine.

The portion sizes are great for the price and the outdoor seating has a good atmosphere.

After the mass guest 2014, we searched for an original Austrian Guest House and found the "Kohlpeter" in Salzburg. (Note: restaurant + 2 separate operators have hotel).
The selection of the menu was very good and the food of everything's great. Naturally cooked with love and with a top quality (perfect steak). From the soup, main course up to the dessert of all note 1. Also cheap prices. What you want. In a real österr. Tavern atmosphere — there you can forget the many "would-be-Aristo Micki local"! This is honest and true Austrian cuisine!
Congratulations to the host, the chefs and friendly service — we come back safely.
Only suggestion: introduce smoking ban as in D. And other countries.

It's a little outside Salzburg, but the bus stop is very close and yes the Centre within a few minutes. The rooms are nice and clean; the spacious bathroom. Only a gentleman at the reception speaks some Italian, but they are available. You can buy the Salzburg card directly in the hotel. Breakfast is good but not great. The attached restaurant serves delicious dishes with good presentation. Would stay here again.

Great location to get to the Centre of Salzburg, rooms spotless and spacious, the owner is Spanish and speaks some Italian and is very friendly. GASTHAUS where you eat well and a hearty breakfast in the morning. Absolutely recommended.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen, angenehmes Atmosphäre. Einfach ein "gutes Wirtshaus". Habe den Kohlpeter vor ca. 1 Jahr für uns entdeckt: seither kommen wir so ca. Alle 2-3 Monate zum Abendessen. Empfehlenswert.
