I stay here once a year for the retail trade fair in August and I have nothing but compliments for the Sofitel. Very helpful staff, breakfast is always amazing (the buffet) and the rooms looking out over Melbourne CBD and beyond is stunning. I really need to make sure I use the free cocktail on arrival for one year! I also will have to try the restaurant, Thirty-Three or something like that as the food looks amazing.

Great service views and restaurant. Although this is an older hotel it has been well maintained and is in an excellent location. Views from the rooms were great and room start on the 36 floor so you are practically guaranteed good views. Excellent food and service at the 35 restaurant. No pool if you are looking for a hotel with a pool.

We are really enjoying our stay here. The team here are friendly, in a genuine way. The room is just perfect for us. The location… well. Could it get more perfect?! High 5 Sofitel! PS A must for dining…

Nice hotel and function room. Catering was nicely done but the portions were easy too small. An easy venue for most in the city, and remember to park at 'Collins place' Wilson's parking. Pre-book your parking spot on 'book-a-Bay' online to secure a parking space, it can be full on weekends / function days.

The hotel is well presented and made my stay very comfortable. I highly recommend eating at the fine dining restaurant as well as eating breakfast! Both were delicious and I'd go again in a heart beat.

Very nice staff. Gave us a free champagne for my partner's birthday, lovely view of port phillip bay if you get the privilege of getting a room with that view. Perfect for public transport, extremely close to Parliament station and Colin's st trams.

2nd time for us here and just like the first time, its an awesome experience :-) This time around we celebrated our wedding anniversary weekend here and Sofitel did not disappoint. Great place to stay. All the staff are super friendly, so nice whilst walking to your room getting a hello from the ladies servicing the appartments. Front of house staff also very helpful as specially with us not so familiar with Melbourne. We stayed in 4714. The views were amazing and the room its self was clean and had everything you would expect plus more. Thanks Sofitel Melbourne =)

It is infamous to show pictures of this hotel as if it were modern. Do not trust the photographs. This hotel is outdated and does not correspond to a 5 star hotel but 3 stars and because the lounge is acceptable. Access to the hotel is from the mall. The up/down indicators of the elevators are light bulbs. The Super Suite We were given was with a single bathroom, no shower and with bath and water in a single stay not to say that the style was of the years 80 and without renewing. I almost cried. My complaint served to changed the suite to a smaller surface but with a shower (at the same price). A robbery.

Location and views the best in Melbourne, especially if you get a corner room overlooking Port Philip Bay and over the MCG. Staff are amazing. The pillows are the most comfortable hotel pillows I've slept on. My only gripe is no clothesline in the bathroom. So not much of a gripe at all.

Last days of the summer menu, glad we made it in as the two steaks we had were magnificent. We had the broccoli side which was prepared in a way I'd never had broccoli before — really good. Service is quick and attentive. Would come back.

The rooms look quite nice. Has a tablet in each room to order things. The internal scenery looks really futuristic with all of their wall of mirror like windows. No swimming pool on site but they have a partnership with another hotel to go swimming courtesy of Sofitel. Look forward to staying there if we book it.

Wow! Stayed in one of the suites on the 50th floor and it was stunning, spacious and opulent without being over the top. Coffee machine was a nice touch to the room as well as the centrally located lighting controls and pillow menu. Lounge area was spacious and the bathroom was covered in natural stone and had quality toiletries. The views of Melbourne from that height are just breathtaking. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Sofitel Suites ❤️

From the moment we checked in at Club Sofitel we made to feel valued and welcome. Nothing was too much to ask. The true sense of hospitality when there is no fuss, just a true attentiveness to simple needs. Wifi? No issues. Meals and access to the club? Easy. Service? Optimal: they anticipated our needs. Quality.

One of the best places to stay in Melbourne. Staff are friendly and courteous. Rooms have beautiful views and are comfortable and spacious. Stayed here many times and will come back many times more.

Myself and my wife decided to treat ourselves for our 10 year anniversary and booked a Sofitel Club room for the occasion. We were on the 48th floor and the room was well appointed with stunning views. We went to the Sofitel Club for the afternoon drinks and canapes and felt it more than lived up to expectations, with an excellent selection of high-quality spirits, wine and beer. The food was delicious and fresh. The staff at the Club were extremely accommodating and polite. It was our first time and Karina (who looked after us) made us feel extremely welcome and was happy to explain everything. Overall the whole experience was magnificent and well worth it. We felt like we were looked after by everyone at The Sofitel and have re-booked another Club experience for the Labour Day weekend!

The Sofitel is a great hotel. Fantastic views over Melbourne. Very comfortable room. King size bed. A good deal area to get work done. Fantastic restaurant. Great location in the CBD.

Drive way to main entrance rather congested. I believe traffic management needs improving. Check-in outstanding. Junior Suite lovely. Room Service excellent. Buffet Breakfast outstanding. Parts of the Hotel are beginning to look rather tired and need TLC / replacing. Nag Nag Nag — U NEED A POOL! (I understand this is heard all the time). Well done for having a designated smoking floor….

It was a mini honeymoon for us as we have been extremely busy. Arrived on Friday night to a relaxed yet very professional team that made us feel welcome. The upgrade and gift that awaited us in our room was a thoughtful touch. The dinner booking that the concierge made us was great even though we went out with friends instead sorry.

My wife and I stayed in a Club Suite for a romantic weekend in Melbourne. The room was spacious, well-appointed and the Club Lounge was a wonderfully friendly and relaxing environment. From reception and throughout the hotel and Lounge, the staff were very attentive and friendly — everything was done with a smile. Manan, who was front of house in the Lounge, was wonderful and very welcoming. We dined at No. 35 for dinners, which combined spectacular views of the city, exquisite food, and first class service. The weekend was a wonderfully romantic retreat in a well.

From the minute we checked in, we knew we had made a good decision staying at the Sofitel on Collins. The check in staff were courteous and genuinely interested in what had brought us to Melbourne. I mentioned that we were there for my partners birthday which led to finding a bottle of sparkling wine in our room not long after. A nice surprise. The room was well equipped and the bed comfortable. We will definitely stay there again in the future.

My son and I return each year and are addicted to the relaxation and luxury we feel when we arrive. He was blown away by how devoted and attentive the staff were. Even after we checked out he said "mum, they're still just as nice". We feel very special here. Best bed, best bath, best views. Thank you.

Saddened that it was only a two night stay but those nights were magnificent! The views, the service, the amenities and the staff made this experience unforgettable. The only point of concern would be the decor. It's a bit 'eh' and could do with a revamp. Otherwise, 10/10 would return for the next special occasion.

We go to The Sofitel about 4 times a year, it is our go to Melbourne getaway. This time (first time) we were upgraded to a Junior Suite and it was the icing on the cake. A very enjoyable way of celebrating my wife's birthday, from the outstanding birthday cake (for want of a better description) to the complimentary bubbles The Sofitel went one step further to make it a memorable experience. Normally we leave the hotel for awhile but this time the sun streaming in the windows of the suite, caused us both to have much needed naps when reading our E Books. The club food was perfect and of course the service and attention to detail by your staff was at the top level. Thank You!

This was our first stay at the Sofitel. Each year my family and I all put in to treat our 82 year old Mum with a special night out in Melbourne. We had heard great reviews about your hotel and we were definitely not disappointed. The hotel facilities the room and the view were way above our expectations, but the very best thing was the polite and friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay the best we have ever had in Melbourne. We also treated Mum to High Tea which was absolutely amazing and she is still talking about it. Please pass on our congratulations to Management and all staff, and we will hopefully see you again in the near future.

We felt very special. It was a celebration for my son finishing his degree. I had briefly mentioned this when confirming our booking, when we arrived in our room, a bottle of bubbles, some macaroons and a hand written card were waiting for us. Above and beyond. The staff anywhere in the hotel were amazing, professional but friendly and approachable. This is from the moment we were greeted at the car, to check in, bag delivery but also the cleaning staff you happen along the way during our stay. Well done Sofitel, your team do their jobs very well but also take pride in the service they provide. This is all across the hotel, no one on your team is more or less important. I've already re booked for later in the year, so I can give my youngest son the same amazing experience as he's also finishing his degree. But I'll be back next year on my own — the beds are like sleeping in a cloud.

Our overnight getaway was lovely, service impeccable and amenities great. Only complaint is the quality coming out of the kitchen. Our meals at No. 35 were very disappointing, especially when one is paying 5 star prices ($59.00 for a steak and $39.00 for pork). The quality of the hot foods at breakfast were also at best satisfactory. The only downside to an otherwise great experience, and nothing beats the views!

Absolutely amasing. The rooms are exquisite and they boast some of the best views particularly the higher levels. Service was great and in room dining was also excellent. One of the better 5 Star hotels in Melbourne.

Sunday buffet lunch still delicious and very good quality, although the variety of items is not as extensive as in the past as they have removed some of the food tables to make room for more guest tables, therefore making it busier and noisier. Price has also increased but still reasonable value if you have Accor Plus card.

Whether you're staying or just visiting for a drink or dining, the Sofitel offers a beautiful and opulent environment to enjoy the experience. Staff are attentive, rooms are comfortable and there is access to all the resources you should need to make your stay stressfree. Be sure to had up to the upper floors for the magical view.

Extravagant atmosphere coupled with extremely professional staff and lavishly modern interiors define the Sofitel on Collins. It was like stepping aboard the Titanic, over-perfumed, opulent but most of all not fitting of the current time period. I felt uncomfortable being there, as if I'd been transported to a time where social class was more obvious than it is today. It's an experience for the opal wearers, cigar smokers and the haughty among us, but not for me.

Amazing hotel situated right in the heart of the city! Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The higher floors have a fantastic view. Would stay here again it back in Melbourne. The only drawback is that it is quite a distance from Southern Cross train station, so we had to use the hotel's arranged airport transfer.

Food was good. Drinks were good. Service was good. A little pricey but you'd expect that.

I want to give this a good review but it is well below standard. We stayed for our anniversary in a corner room but were upgraded to a corner suite. This was very nice & the service in general was fantastic. The view was wonderful & the suite was very spacious. The furnishings were dated & very worn. I could also hear people in the next room & I bet they could hear my husband & I coughing all night. Compared to a similar room at the Langham or a standard room at the Hyatt it certainly falls short.

One of my favorite Melbourne hotels. Great restaurants and bars with friendly and accommodating staff. My only gripe is, as beautiful as the main bar area is to sit in, I do find it a little less cosy for long sociable evenings. It feels more like a place to eat than to relax with drinks and friends.

The restaurant had a good, laid back atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. The drink and food were great.

Very very rude staff made it a very disappointing stay. The rooms were dirty and way over priced. Stay somewhere else! When we spoke to the reservations manager she just laughed as if she was going to be full regardless. I guess they are just riding off the Sofitel name and they don't care about their customers in this particular Sofitel. We tried to cancel our remaining nights but were told that we couldn't! I can't beleive you can be forced to pay for something that you are not happy with and when you don't even want to use the service. Apparently their "cancelation policy" doesn't allow it. What a joke!

The staff were all incredibly friendly and professional and both the room and the bar were of an exceptional standard I would recommend a stay here.

Let's not mess around here guys. The sofitel is expensive, the restaurant is expensive, the bar is a little expensive. But this is a 5 star experience from start to finish. The little things like the cbus lighting in the rooms and the friendly Bonjour from staff members; nothing is too much hassle, just ask. I had to knock off a star because the low flow showerheads are a disgrace; just save yourself the heartache and have a nice long soak in the tub instead.

Do not go to this hotel if you are in a wheelchair, Disabled room had no seat in shower. Breakfast room not accessible unless you have 15 mins to wait for the only key holder to be found. Breakfast starts at 6am expect if you are in a wheelchair, as the guy with the key starts at 7am. Actually this chain should be avoided my stay in Brisbane was not much better and when I States in NY the bench seat in the shower was so far away from the shower you could not sit on it and shower.

The three of us ladies had high tea at the Sofitel on 18/7/2015 The event was purchased as a Christmas present for me by my two daughters last year The set up, food, venue and entertainment was lovely, thank you! However, a special thank you to the very efficient and extremely helpful pretty function manager who on seeing my eight month pregnant daughters disappointed expression on not being able to eat most of the goodies on the cake stand "magicked" up a lovely special food platter suitable for very pregnant ladies!

For a magical experience where the service is fantastic and the suites beautiful with great views of either the city or the bay. I totally recommend a weekend getaway there where you will be made feel so special you will become a regular visitor.

Really in need of a refit — lets other Sofitel's down. Beds have ridges in the middle (both I and 2 colleagues in different rooms had the same problem) ; bathrooms are small and tired, no pool, small gym. No one thing is terrible but not a great business hotel experience.

This is an unusual hotel for Melbourne, being very modern and high-rise, but it suits the city's style and approach to life really well. Great rooms, lovely food, and fells like a hideaway once you are inside.

My partner and I stayed at your amazing hotel in August for 4 nights, I would like to thank your amazing staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We could not fault anything right down to our fantastic room. Thank You.

A reasonable hotel in a good location. If you are not planning on spending your stay in your hotel room it's perfectly fine — the rooms are small, but quiet and well-equiped — and a step outside the front door has you right in the thick of the city.

The rooms are great, the amenities are nice. But the Wi-Fi sucks donkey dicks, and not in a good way. The TV has no options for you to plug in an external video source. E. G. A camera to review your pictures.
