This is an average place for short term and long term stay. The studios are decent size and small balcony in most of the apartments make them convenient for smokers and for getting a gulp of fresh air in the evening. The prices are bit higher considering the aging of apartments. Electric plates in the kitchen and tiny space make it very inconvenient for preparing big meal. Definitely not suitable for Indian style of cooking.

Amazing views from the upper floors. Great location and access to the free city trams. Older building which is maintained as best they can. For people renting a car parking can be a bit pricey if u have to pay extra for it.

This place is nice and spacious, it has a nice feeling of relaxation and the layout of the hotel room is fantastic and modern. Good customer service and the location is great as it is close to everything. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the hotel room is what let them down from getting 5 stars. The toilet seat had not been cleaned prior to our stay. There was old food bits on the bedroom curtains. Dust in the corner of the cupboards. Also the glass was smeared and grubby. I would still recommend this place. And I would re-visit. PS: the toilet paper was not soft enough. It was like wiping with sand paper.

City Tempo located just next to the city center. It is more quite and very convenient. I stayed here for 4 weeks which gave me a feeling of home. Staff are very nice. QV market is so closed to City Tempo. I will choose City Tempo again if I go to Melbourne.

Very helpful staff as we had lots of questions & had to extend our stay. Great studio apartment — with free Wifi! In a central location — awesome for visitors.

Nice modern, clean rooms. Staff were professional and helpful. Construction outside did not bother me.

Great location and great price! Just wish that the check-out time wasn’t so early! Also the dryer wasn’t working properly but thankfully I didn’t do a big load of laundry. Loved the amenities that was provided. Would definitely come stay here again.

Bad experience. Whole building out of power supply on 1/4 at night. No staff explain what happen and no one take care of us. No water no blanket.
Finally we need climb up the stairs we sleep in 24th floor. Also, the air conditioner is too noisy.
Only the location is good.

Do not recommend. Electricity was out for a long time and lifts did not work. I was stuck in the apartment for a long time wasting a lot of my valuable time. The apartment has a no smoking policy but the guy smokes all the time next door and made our room smell awful. Hotel staff did nothing. The air conditioning is awfully loud. Do not book this apartment!

The hotel is top notch, located in the middle of the city, only 2 blocks from the Queen Victoria market. Great value, full kitchen facilities with washer/dryer.

+ small room but cheap price. nice location friendly staff - the reception was smelly, and there were so many bugs coming in from the window (6th floor). Left over milk in fridge. Transparent shower. If I go back to Melbourne, I would rather stay at an airbnb.

Bed comfy. Lobby smells. Shower see through. Not private at all. Bit noisy.

Hotel close to the city and train station, very clean, personal friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Apartment cleaning every day.

Facilities and location of the apartments are good. Only downer: Safety boxes are not available either in the room or at the reception.

Really unimpressed with this place. Which is a pity, because the actual presentation was good. Nice and clean, kitchenette had everything you'd need, prompt customer service, and easily arranged late check-out. But time for the bad stuff: The air-conditioner was so loud and inconsistent (kept cycling up and down throughout the night) that I barely got a wink of sleep. The seals in the shower barely kept the water from pooling on the bathroom floor. And the wall between the shower and bed was just frosted glass, which would have been super awkward showering with someone else in the room. Will not be staying here again.

Clean and compact. Well appointed kitchenette, with combination washer dryer. Great for long weekend of enjoying Melbourne.

Nice and clean. Middle of city so it was easy to move around. And the stuff was friendly and kind.

Really good location handy to markets which I enjoyed and beautifully thought out it has everything so well organised reminds me of japan. Staff so helpful and lightning quick! thx to Tolga for suggesting markets, Sanjay and especially Sean (i lost my key late at night) the quilt was thin so there was a heater and blanket to keep me warm. Alas noisy — the key box started whining and heater was dreadfully loud but they supply earplugs!

We had 5 nights here, it wasn't the worst place I've stayed in but it was so close to it. We arrived just after 10 at night and had to use our cellphone to contact the night serviceman to let us in. Outside our room there was what looked like bread crumbs on the hall carpet, possibly the remnants of someone's breakfast. The crumbs were still there when we left 5 days later. The ironing board was broken. We asked maintenance for an other one. 3 Hours later it finally arrived, still broken. It was the same one. The aircondition unit was extremely noisy which made it difficult to sleep. We won't be back.

Very fresh rooms including all you need. There was a small kitchen, a separate bedroom, wash machine, dish washer and a nice bathroom with a big shower. Great location in the middle of the city. Good prices considering the location and the size of the rooms.

I was very disappointed about the overall experience. From the initial booking to checking out there was always something unsatisfactory. The biggest issue with the apartment was the constant loud whistling noise from the air coming through the door. This doesn't seem like a big issue but believe me it is! They say to use the door runners provided but they do hardly anything and to make it worse they actually have the hide to leave ear plugs in the room and expect you to just use them. As well as this the dryer didn't work in our room so I had to pay more money to use the ones downstairs. If I had known this I would not have washed them in the first place. Also when I asked for another towel they said one would be sent up but nothing ever arrived. Now to top it all off I still haven't received my deposit back and will no doubt have to ring them to chase it down. Overall I recommend staying at the many other nicer hotels in the area that are around the same price as that is what I will do next time. This hotel made my first experience of Melbourne not as good as I hoped and I am very disappointed.

Great location and good rooms with a couple of flaws. The sound of the wind is pretty strong, but the major issue is the bathroom — the frosted glass used is not opaque. You can see anyone in the shower from the living room (1st photo) and anyone in the toilet from the bedroom (2nd photo).

Would have given them a 4 1/2 star, but you don't have that option on here. We have stayed here a couple of time now and both times have been impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The rooms aren't huge, but for a few night stay are very comfortable. We had a balcony and it's nice to have that option for some nice views ans some fresh air.

We were so impressed with the our City Tempo experience. The rooms were well appointed, clean and very comfortable. However the highlight was the fabulous staff. A very big thank you to the amazing Sanju and Alex who went above and beyond to ensure my family was comfortable. I hope your Boss know how great you guys are! Many thanks.

Central location, clean, daily room cleaning, has washing machines/dryer and provided cleaning materials. Helpful and cheerful staff.

Room well fitted out, but noisy due to wind draught. Good friendly staff. Location fairly good, 5min walk to QVM and to tram lines.

Fantastic hotel / serviced apartments on Queens in Melbourne. Brilliant location: very accessible. The Queen Victoria Market is a short walk away. So are a bunch of local restaurants and shopping arcades. Very close to the free Melbourne tram stop that you can hitch a ride on every now and then. The apartments are super clean, well architected and serviced well. Free Wi-Fi makes your stay even more worth it. Affordable even.

Affordable price, cleanliness is just 20%. My mom had to clean her room. Very dirty. Thick layer of dust. The staff is however very friendly. Those who want to stay here, please remember, this is NOT a hotel, it's an apartment. If u want room service cleaning u need to pay 100 a day. Very expensive. Whatever u want here is very expensive, they all want money. Not really recommended.

Stayed there for two weeks. Check in / check out was easy. Staff was friendly. However, the room (stayed in a studio apartment) was bit small. Well equipped room with heater/ac, kitchenette, sound system, data outlet/cable, TV etc.

When presented with some hotels you can only focus on those bad things that happen. Staying here… nothing happened so you start trying to find something wrong, and when the only problem you can find is the sink in the bathroom is a little small and the fan on the bedroom a/c unit blows directly on the back of the person on the left side of the bed? You know you're staying in a great place Power cord by the bed, great kitchen, in room laundry, comfy lounge area, good bed, iron, great bathroom (except for the sink), relatively polite and competant staff (English skills on the cleaning team need some work) … Stay here, it's worth it.

A very well organized, friendly and easy-access hotel located in Melbourne. Close by Queens Market, grocery shopping and local delights are surely enjoyable near City Tempo. A great experience without a heavy price tag.

Great price. Nice change from a hotel. Nice rooms with separate bedroom and living area (depending on the room you chose). I have stayed three times now.

In spite of a seeming rhetorical email asking what time I will be arriving… still waiting for room to be cleaned… horrid first impression… may be 3 hours of waiting apparently… RUBBISH! okay so was though I was throughly disappointed and angry at the long wait on arrival… the rest of the stay was good… was on the 19th floor so very quiet, exactly what I requested… place was clean and tidy… points to note — the toilet walls are frosted glass — there was no do not disturb / clean today sign to hang outside — yes there's a whistling sound from the door when it is windy… but there is a thingy to place behind the door — studio apartment pretty comfortable — washing machine and dryer, iron, dishwasher, even a vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, hi fi system and some foxtel channels — best is a nice work station so yes I was biased and angry initially… but overall… it is darn good.

Enjoyed stayed for 14days. Safe, Convienient, quiet and easy accessble to main street. Clean and cozy bedroom. Wished to own one unit too.

I travel a lot for work and as part of my own greener house keeping ask for it to be kept to a minimum ie. Once a week or not at all if my stay is short. This request was repeatedly ignored to the point of hilarious French comedy. Except I was working long hours and it became not so funny. If you need your bed remade every night and clean towels every day then this is the perfect place. If you prefer not to spend time undoing the hospital corners EVERY single time then look elsewhere for a place to stay. So apart from that first world problem — the place is nice. Receptionists were pleasant but not particularly interested in helping. As other reviewers have noted the rooms have problems with air and a whistling noise when windy.
