We can only echo the comments about the very well appointed suites/apartments at The Frames with the spectacular location high above the Murray River. But what really made our visit enjoyable was the incredible warmth from all the staff from manager Kelly to the hosts Rick and Cathy and their wonderful friends who gave us very personalised tours of this corner of Australia. From the Gondola ride to the river safari, from the food tour to the private chef. We had a great time and hope The Frames is a huge success.

What a tremendously well built and laid out accommodation that reflects the owners' genuine passion to exhibit the beauty of the Riverlands. The lovely views of the River Murray by the balcony took our breaths away. The sincerity of the owners Rick & Cathy were felt throughout the duration of our stay as Rick came to greet us from Day One and introduced many recommendations of food, drinks and activities which were extremely helpful and truly completed our perfect staycation.
The accommodation itself was absolutely stunning with a high level of security and privacy. Each building came with its own pool, sauna, spa and BBQ facilities. The house was clean and updated with new electronics that made our stay so comfortable and well entertained.
Rick and Cathy's The Frames Riverlands Retreat is beyond well expectations.
A huge thanks to Rob for taking care of us on the beautiful Gondola Cruise and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the River Murray. Thank you to Kelly, the retreat's manager who always answered promptly when we needed and went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Frames, brilliant idea to have private apartments with their own pools and complete facilities. My partner and I were welcomed by David who showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. After sleeping on the adjustable bed I’m now looking into getting one for home. The view over the river is perfect with sunset views from bed.
We also took advantage of the private tours and went on the flavour safari. Tony our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Gave us so much information on the area. We really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying at the frames.

A wonderful place to relax while exploring the Riverland. Luxurious accommodation and Rick and Cathy were so kind to a solo visitor providing useful information, a wonderful River safari, excellent BBQ s and an evening in the Gondola. Some interesting places to explore while there and to learn about the river.

Our last. Another couple joined us and we shared the largest 2 bedroom 2 bathroom retreat.
Elegant, well appointed accommodations with excellent quality furniture and appliances. Breakfast provisions are generous and delicious. Lots of local touches and thoughtful additions to enhance your stay and connect you to the place.
Excursions are fun, informative and fully-catered with the same attention to detail.

This is the second visit to The Frames — the first was just the two of us and this one was with a couple of friends with whom we have shared lots of travel experiences.
We deliberately chose to repeat the same tour on the water as it was such a great insight to the River and the role it plays in the economy and ecology of Australia.
The accommodation stay was superb — generous breakfast provisions, elegant furnishings, comfy beds, crisp linens, lap pool, spa, IR sauna, and great tips to get the best of the region.

We booked the 3-night full package including excursions and food package. In summary: It was an excellent experience way beyond our expectations.
It started with us choosing the desired food package before arrival, setting our expectations already high. We were welcomed by the owner, mentioning that all activities are just for the 2 of us — not just privacy, but also tailored and personalized. No compromises with other travellers.
The accomodation is not just a hotel room — it is a fully equipped, spacious ca. 100 sqm apartment plus outside platform (300 sqm in total) for all different relaxation facilities (pool, whirlpool, sauna, grillstation, table for eating outside) — with all the whistle and bells beyond our expectation (expectation plus min. 50%! ). All equipment was top quality — no compromises. Housekeeping was simply perfect replacing all goods, we have used the day before.
Food concept: Breakfast provisions are beyond expectation. Lunch was mainly provided included in the excursions. For dinner: once came a chef into our apartment and provided us a first class dinner — prepared in the kitchen, which is part of the accomodation. For the other dinners we were provided an excellent and well pre-prepard dinner with all ingredients — we just had to add the finishing touches (e. G. Grilling, putting into the oven) and could enjoy an excellent dinner at our leisure. This was simply beyond anything, we have experienced so far.

What an experience. We left The Frames for 1 hour, to have a quick look around the town, but we did not want or need to leave for longer. Catering is available or bring your own steak which we did, to cook on the outdoor bbq (kitchen) to accompany the lovely complimentary bottle of wine There was enough Gourmet provisions to keep us going for breakfast and lunch. The river view, the pool, sauna… oh and the Bed. The list goes on and on. Our expectations were high but were exceeded by far.

We have just spent three amazing nights at The Frames and we can't express to you how much we enjoyed it. Every detail was perfect. The staff are so helpful, personable, nothing is too much trouble. We felt totally spoiled and can not recommend it enough.

We spent four nights at The Frames at the suggestion of our travel agent. We are so glad we took his advice.
The Frames is much more than luxury accommodation. It is about personalized, exclusive experiences conducted by knowledgeable and passionate people. These are described on their webpage. We took the Wetland and Wildlife Safari, The Gondola Cruise, and The Flavour Safari. We also had an in-house chef prepare a three course meal for us one night, a supreme BBQ on another and the Prosperity Experience at the Temperance Restaurant at the Hotel Renmark on another.
The owners, Rick and Cathy Edmonds are just lovely people, as are their staff. Rick picked us up from Mannum (about an hour and a half drive away) and drove us to Adelaide after our stay (3 hours away). We enjoyed his company greatly.

Architecturally the build of The Frames is unlike anything we’ve ever stayed in before. Beautifully considered with a high spec interior design to match.
The owners have thought of everything that you could possible need to make your stay easy and smooth including many kindnesses and treats for you to enjoy.
The opportunity to take up some lovely add ons included a sunset boat trip, river Safari, BBQ pack to cook at the villa and a private chefs dinner making the offer at The Frames very special indeed.
The customer service provided by everyone we came in contact with was second to none. It was a pleasure from start to finish.
Thank you to all at The Frames for making our stay there such a special time and giving us some lifetime memories.

How lucky we were to celebrate my husbands birthday for a quick weekend getaway from the Barossa… we were not disappointed.
This is a true escape from the world in the land of luxury.
The thought that has gone into the architecture of each building and the interior design features is outstanding along with the little surprise moments from our hosts.

The whole experience was just perfect. All of our communication with David was so lovely, fun and friendly, and we really, really appreciated being able to check in early!
There are no words for the accommodation… it was the perfect place for us to stay and unwind after a hectic period on the road. We loved the pool, spa, sauna, and massage bed, and we also loved just sitting on the balcony taking in the relaxing view. And the food, wine and chocolate treats were delicious!
We really enjoyed the Wildlife and Wetland tour – the scenery was great, the meal and setting were amazing, and we especially loved chatting with Tony, Rob and Rick.
And then thank you so much for allowing us late check out… which made Sunday morning very relaxed.

The Frames is a genius creation of luxurious accommodations. Rick and Cathy have built some truly spectacular. My husband and I traveled from the US and stayed throughout Australia for 3 weeks, ending our trip with a 3 night stay at the "Montage" lodge in The Frames. It was, by far, the nicest place we visited. It included a private, heated pool, hot tub, infrared sauna, and a fully stocked house and kitchen, all for an unbeatable price. The best part, however, was the view from the balcony that overlooked the Murray River. You feel like you are looking through a picture frame with the most picturesque view of the Riverlands. A big reason for our trip was bird watching. Right from our balcony we were able to comfortably observe many beautiful species of wildlife, and watch stunning sunsets all while enjoying great wine and the WORLD'S BEST TENGELO JUICE! Seriously, the juice is fresh pressed everyday from Rick and Cathy's amazing organic farm, and I've never tasted anything better in my life. Beyond the actual accommodation, Ricky and Cathy were so kind and down to earth. As lifelong locals, they were able to share the great history and ecology of the region and take us on tours of the river and surrounding area with delicious prepared lunches. Their staff were phenomenal and on top of any need or want. If I had to choose between the nicest place in Napa Valley or The Frames in Australia's fruit and wine region, I will always choose Rick and Cathy's fabulous place.

Stunning! Private. Very well thought out! No need for anything. Nothing too much trouble. Rick and Cathy have thought of everything! Sunset Gondola Cruise 🥂excellent with cheese platter; beer for the boys and wine for the girls! Lovely native flower decoration for an added touch. 💐Recommend to interstate; overseas and locals. A weekend to recharge.
