I only stay 2 nights, but room service is nice and quiet room, large suite, helpful concierge, what I asking for.

Nice and clean
Enough big space room
Loving the balcony feature
Extra bedding if you need.

Oh boy, where do I start.
Upon entering the room, my first though was "wow. This is just awful" — but never in my wildest nightmares (if I could even get to sleep in here) did I imagine how much worse it was going to be. I feel I need an STD test from just entering the premises. First, the couch has more concerning stains on it than a teenagers cc underpants. It's the kind of condition you couldn't give away for free on Craig's list and would be best dragged out onto the street and set alight and free the demons within it. I would not sit on this for fear of getting pregnant from decades of residual fluids. Secondly, I would joke that the crudely made bed looked pre-used prior to my check in, however the long black hair left as a tip on my pillow kind of solidified that fact … I am definitely not a ebony or brunette. I would have questions about why the bedroom window has 2 way mirrors instead of curtains but I honestly don't think I want the answers. There was spiders in my bathroom. I named them Greg and Jerry. The decor was outdated even prior to the hotel being built, however the cracks in the walls added an artistic flare best left a gallery for the blind. Overall, this is the kind of motel room you see in horror movies where people are murdered. If my options were to stay here again, I'd sleep in a gutter on Hindley Street with the other past clientele of this very room.

We chose the Adelaide Meridien Hotel & Apartments — they were so generous they only charged $1 on top of the voucher and then gave that money to Ronald MacDonald House! Great overnight stay in Adelaide — Very welcoming — lovely staff :)

We stayed at another motel before this wich was very bad this is heaven and friendly staff good all round.

It’s a very nice hotel for the price you pay. Also 24 hr check in and pools and private secure carpark. Food is fantastic and great value.

My family came over from Port Lincoln to await the arrival of their baby, my grandson. The staff their were amazing and so supportive in extending our stay on a daily basis as bubs was unwell, the room was great and free mini bar was an added bonus. Thank you girls for all your support will recommend to all my friends.

In an excellent position, close to the CBD. Good food available. Close to some excellent eateries too. Friendly staff, reasonable pricing for accommodation.

Very disappointed! Paid $109 for a standard room and I’m not impressed at all. Feels like I’ve gone back to the 1940’s, I’m 5’3 and can touch the roof, the stove top is a camping stove and public toilets are better than our ensuite. Wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me. The food at Angus and co was terrible, my partner had to send my food back and now we are getting charged for smoking in the room which we did NOT do, there is a smoke alarm that would surely have went off if there was any smoking in the room. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

My husband and I stayed there last night. We bought online 3 weeks prior on a special rate. We paid $136 for a large room with a king bed and a balcony. We were given a free bottle of wine when checking in, free Wi-Fi, free mini bar and free parking. We were happy with the service and the size of the room and bathroom facilities. The building interior was a bit old, with cracks in the walls and a few stains on the decor but for the price, we were very happy. The location was right down the street from our dinner party and we could walk home safely at midnight without worrying about driving home. I would definitely stay there again and recommend others too as well.

Have stayed twice now and each time have been impressed. Rooms are old but clean, spacious and everything you need. Bedrooms seperate to the lounge/kitchenette are great. Staff are friendly and hotel is quiet (free minibar is great too). Ample parking out the back off the street great for large cars. For the price you pay I don’t think you could get much better within walking distance to the city will stay again.

My family and I stayed one night for a little getaway and to see Disney on ice.
The staff were friendly the room was clean warm and cosy.
The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the free Mini bar.
Lots of towels were in the room and plenty soaps/shampoo conditioner.
Bonus that it's location is very central and easy to find.

Although it's a little dated, great price, place is so warm, loved it here we stay a second night, close to restaurant's, the chocolate taperia down the road was the best for desert. Will be back to stay here next time we are in Adelaide.

Getting a little dated but still one of my favourite places to stay in Adelaide. Big rooms, free parking and Wi-Fi and walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Rooms comfortable enough however they are quite dated. The walls aren't well insulated as you can hear everything from the next door room. Apart from that it's quite a convenient place to stay.

Very nice room. Good value for money. Easy to follow instructions for the air conditioner. Roomy bathroom. Free newspaper. The big breakfast is actually a big breakfast. Spa and pool. Free parking. No complimentary tea, coffee or water. No microwave or kettle. No Foxtel. Short walking distance to many good restaurants.

Close to everywhere we need to be, staff are polite, and room service brekky was ok. The rooms and linen are generally clean, but found someone's ball of hair on the floor. Bathrooms a little outdated. This was our 2nd stay, less than $100 for 2 people, 1 night. Our first visit was $350 for 3 people. Strange! I will continue to use for convenience.

If you want peace and quiet dont stay here. The walls are thin. You can hear everything! A lot of the time when I went to reception when they were busy they asked if it was urgent if I needed to speak to them. Its customer service of course its urgent. Overall the location is great as its on melbourne street.

Value for money But booked two beds in one room but only was allowed one bed on checkin. Not ideal sleeping with another adult family member. Awkward! Glad I wasn't with a mate checking out the city for the night.

I was lucky enough to stay @ The Meridian Hotel in Adelaide for the past 2 weeks. The layout and ease of access to my room was fantastic, including car parking. The staff were energetic, cordial and willing to go that bit further to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Thanks Rebecca. I also found reception to be delightful, enthusiastic and well prepared. One of my main highlights were the hard working women who serviced my room, their attention to detail was absorbing. The reason I gave this a 5 star rating is because the people within The Meridian thoroughly deserved it. Special thanks go to Alys, Tom, Georgie, Karen, Katherine, Rebecca and a few more that brought my delicious meals to Room 315. Congratulations Alex on having a great professional team. Has got the possibility to be a great hotel but it is not. The rooms are so dated and negletted that a backpacker hostel runs circles around it. Sorry but I was so disappointed that I cant hold back.

Have stayed before normally great. But was in the room next to rear door to carpark. Housekeepers and guests constantly slamming door at all hours. Check your mini bar for missing items.

No fuss budget hotel. Generous room sizes, friendly staff. Free, secure parking available before and after check in.

Spacious room, clean, shower over bath, nice older style about the hotel, good of street parking, relaxing restaurant, simple but nice breakfast, small outside pool and spa, great location close to parks, cafés, public transport.

Mixed feelings. Nice location, free parking, free 2gb Wi-Fi, very friendly personnel… Quality of the room itself (in comparison with price of other hotels around (usually stay I a hotel in cbd) was not adequate. Needs renovation as looks quite ran down. Maybe it was just my room.

Quite possibly one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. As an international and national traveller I've seen some debaucherous hotels — and this is undortunately up there with them. The late night check in process was made almost unbearable by the obnoxious, ignorant and unwavingly inflexible gentleman at reception who hid behind his rouge of hotel policies. The upstairs area outside the rooms has a dingy old furniture collection that should be in the tip and food and rubbish scraps all over the floor The room greets you with a smash to the senses with the smell of what can only be described as damp and horrific. I felt more dirty inside the room than I did outside. Stains on the bed sheets, a shower that didn't work, and the simple inability to provide a PowerPoint anywhere accessible to the general consumer. Maybe I just had all the factors combined of a bad experience — bad staff, bad house keeping roster, bad maintenance roster and a room that hasn't been used in a few months. But it certainly won't be on my list of recommendations anytime soon.

Had a room on the third floor with a nice balcony view overlooking Melbourne Street. Was it was a smallish room but comfortable.

Meeting rooms were clean and large. A little. Old and dated but no issues with AV.

I just arrived and had a pleasant experience with the receptionist — she was very helpful the room is good — so far I'm happy! Just waiting for my friends from Norway.

A dated experience. Room is old but it's value for money, especially for my last minute booking. Receptionists Paula was extremely accommodating in an earlier check-in.

The location is very quiet. 15 minutes to walk to beautiful parks, zoo. The breakfast was excellent. Classics)

Clean, tidy rooms. Few little things to fix… bathroom door, toilet roll holder. Maintenance really should do a run through. Friendly staff. Lovely meals, although could do with having bigger steak on menu. A shame you can't order late at night. No movie channel, if here for appointments and don't want to party. Certain room locations noisier than others. But happy to return for the good reasons.

I stayed in a 2 br appartment last night the airconditioning was great as it was so hot and the rooms great but bathroom small and out dated and was a bit grotty and mouldy also kitchen area old and only one power point but nice food in the restarant and staff lovely and friendly.

I booked this place last minute as I needed to travel urgently, and it's quite good for the price. You can see it needs improvement but they are visibly improving it bit by bit: the outdoor is being painted and the restaurant is very well presented. Despite the older rooms, everything is in decent condition and clean, sofas, beds etc: in fact the bed was very comfortable and the linens very nice, plenty of towels presented neatly. Breakfast was $15 and decent value for a hot plated breakfast cooked to order, tea or coffee and a juice. Staff very polite and helpful, you can see they are taking care and making lots of effort. Toiletries provided, although no shower gel, but they did provide a mini soap. Perhaps just shower gel and shower cap would be a good addition. Room had tea and instant coffee making facilities. I'd stay here again.

The staff were really friendly and helpful at the bar. The food was fairly decent for its price.

Nice staff, room was great for us as we were three adults there was one room and one separated living room with a sofa bed. With a groupon breakfast was included and really good. Only downside is that the spa wasn't working.

Disclaimer first: We had to pay 300$+ per night here for basic room (As everything was booked in adelaide because of a world cup cricket match), so my review could be biased. Even if I have to pay 100-150$ for this place, I would be disappointed. The rooms and bathrooms were really tiny and shabby. Some of the cutlery in the kitchen was rusted. The reception was helpful but that still doesn't warrant 300$ or as I said even 150$.

Got back from Adelaide yesterday (24th May '15) after a very pleasant stay at the hotel. It was clean, the room was excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was also excellent with friendly, helpful staff. It was situated close to public transport and other restaurants. But was also close enough to the city for a pleasant walk to the city centre and the Adelaide Zoo, etc. At night it was also quiet, so we slept well. We would choose to stay there again if and when we visit Adelaide again.

Over priced and in very desperate need of a renovation! The outdoor spa didn't work and the reception didn't care much for the problem. The car park was full one night and had to park on the street.

Not a bad place, but getting a little run down. Bathroom is from a bygone era with a very weak shower. Bed was reasonably comfortable but handled the action quite well.

I took a group of 20 people to stay here in October this year. The room that we had was very nice and comfortable and our passengers thought the same with theirs. The staff at the front desk and the bar were very pleasant and helpful. We ate our breakfast and dinner in the dining area — both of which were very good. Actually, the steak that I had one night was one of the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. I was surprised to find that this was the case because I would have expected one this good in a higher rating restaurant. It was perfectly cooked, very tender and very tasty. Good on you all.

The staff person that answered the phone was lovely, was able to answer any questions I had and took my booking. Upon getting to the hotel, I waited while the person at reception was working on the computer, and then had to excuse myself to get served. After leaving the room and coming back late at night, I was told that I now would have to park on the street, as people were using the car parking at the rear of the property (one would assume for its clients) for games at Adelaide Oval. The room was clean and tidy, but in need of a makeover — the bathroom looked really tired. I couldn't wait to get out of there, so I didn't hang around for the free breakfast.
