Reviews of Palm Bay Resort 5*
Lovely, calm and relaxed place. Good bures with great views.
We had an amazing stay! This relatively small resort is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. Rooms (individual cabins) are comfortable, simple and clean with a lovely big shower in the en suite. We had a view out across the whole bay from our cabin which was right on the beach front and only 100 meters or so from the main reception/ bar/pool/ communal cooking an eating area. We've never stayed at a place quite like this where you self cater and cook in a communal kitchen but it was actually really nice. We had all the joys of cooking whatever we liked but the washing up was done for us! I usually shy away from the idle chit chat you have to endure with other holiday makers in a resort, but somehow chatting whilst you cook your burgers on the BBQ is a lot more natural. The bar has some wonderful cocktails invented in-house and they were happy to whip up an mocktail version for my wife. It was clear that the bay is still affected by the cyclone last year, I went snorkeling and a lot of the coral was damaged and there weren't many fish. Also the beach is quite rocky as the sand was also disturbed by the cyclone. But on the plus side, there was definate signs of new coral growing and we had no trouble finding nice sandy spots to sunbathe. One highlight is the sunset bar, imaginatively named because its a deck with a bar where you can watch the sunset which was truly perfect.

Sooo relaxing. You can choose to cook your own meals with stuff from the shop or order from a small menu. Nice staff, warm and friendly, awesome location. Some coral reef 50 m out but most cyclone damaged, great bushwalking.
